I've heard lots of rumors and locally, all our craft stores have gotten rid of all Spellbinders items. Last week I saw the blue Grande Caliber machines at Tuesday Morning for 60 bucks. Tuesday Morning. Is Spellbinders not long for this world?

I don't know but I was wondering the same thing. The TM I go to has lots of Spellbinders dies. I haven't seen the machines yet. I'd be tempted to get one.

I was in Hobby Lobby this weekend and they had reset their die display area. There was quite a few new Spellbinder's dies.

I think stores are moving out the old to bring in the new, and they don't want to pay inventory tax on old product.

That is a new business term I have never heard of- inventory tax. That is so interesting. I had to go read about it. That was just a "gulp" tax article. My heart goes out to business owners. I wouldn't even know where to begin.
I have noticed Michael's is really reducing their dies of all brands. The last time I was in Michael's they had five dies. I hardly could believe it. I have noticed all of Michael's inventory is a lot less. I think this new store brand idea they are trying might hurt more than help them. My Hobby Lobby store just had a reset and they have all new Sizzix, Tim Holtz, Spellbinders & some of other brand that I can't remember. They actually added more die stock than last year. It was not a huge expansion but least another shelf full.

Never worry about "business tax". Businesses do not pay tax, they refer to it as "overhead", customers pay all sorts of taxes. Your state needs more money, but congress doesn't want to raise taxes so they just slip one by the voters and raise the "Business and Occupation" tax.

I did notice recently that my local Joann's had about 1/2 of an aisle of Spellbinder branded stuff. What I particularly noticed is that it had new packaging. Maybe places are just getting rid of the old packging?
Or maybe the new packaging has been around for a while and I just had not noticed? Michaels clearance stuff was definitely the old packaging.

There have been lots of complaints that Spellbinders is very slow to ship to those that order from their website. I ordered during one of their constant sales and heard nothing for over a month. When I e-mailed them, they said they would reply in 7 to 10 days. Once they finally replied they just said my order would be sent ASAP (That was a big help!). When my order finally came, less than half of my items came. What really upset me was one of the items they claimed was out of stock was hyped in an e-mail announcing yet another sale as being a free gift if you ordered $50 worth of stuff. I have noticed there are quite a few complaints posted on various boards about unreasonably delayed orders and lack of stock. A friend who posted on their Facebook page about a long awaited order had their post deleted. My impression was that they seemed to be having some severe problems.
