Does anybody else get evacuated out this season? Yes..one more medivac.. I don't mean to pick but this would have been nice if it'd been put in one of those Spoiler things so those of us who wanted to read it could have, and those of us who didn't wouldn't have had this spoiled for us. I'm hoping for an Aubrey, Tai & Cydney final 3. To me, each of them deserves to be there with Tai & Aubrey equally deserving the win in the end. I'm hoping for this too, and at this point I think Tai and Aubrey are equally deserving to win at the end. But we aren't at the end yet. A lot of things can happen until we get there. I have loved Tai since the beginning of this season, and my love for him hasn't wavered, not even when he threw the water on the fire. In my mind he was doing what he thought he had to strategically in the game. Yes, I know all of you disagree, but we'll just leave it at that for now, okay. Because in this episode, oh my gosh! Tai caught on to how he was low man in the alliance of 3 and possibly that, his alliance was planning to get rid of him when the opportunity arose, as soon as they got their hands on his idol. He himself mentioned they weren't talking with him, they were talking at him. Did he know they were planning to get rid of him? I don't know. We'll never know. But he knew his trust was slipping with them. He knew he had to look around for other people he could start trusting. And here comes Aubrey. She starts talking very friendly like because she wants to get Scott out, and she wants Tai's help. She's hoping to bring him over to their side, which is perfect timing because Tai is looking for another alliance. I don't think it was Aubrey brilliant negotiation skills that got Tai to her alliance's side. I think it was a case of her being in the right place, at the right time, and yes, being able to talk in a trusting manner did help. But make no mistake about it, Tai was ready to go. He just needed someone to come over, invite him in and for that person to be trustworthy. What I do admire Aubrey for (very much!) is her performance in that challenge with the arms holding up the pots when it was down to her and Jason. Where did her strength come from? I really thought it would be between Jason and Cydney because Cydney has those very muscular arms. So does Jason. Wouldn't it take strong arms to hold those things up for a long time? Arms that you work out a lot like in people who constantly work out-like Jason and Cydney I mean? Aurbrey doesn't look to me like she's a gym rat so where in the world did she get that strength from? Maybe it was just pure determination, and in that case I really have to hand it to her. Damn girl, you really showed them all! In the reward challenge I agree with all of you that those going for the advantage are those who are truly playing the game. Being a huge Tai fan I was very happy he won and was clapping furiously when he did. BTW, that win means he has an extra vote in the game, so with that he has not only that but also his idol. Two advantages no one else does. I can sort of see why Julie would go for the loved ones prize. She is the youngest player at 18 and I think they said she hadn't been away from her parents this long before. Either they said it or DS told me he'd read it online. I was very surprised when Tai didn't give Scott his idol but also completely understood why and was happy for him. I was also surprised to see that he voted for Scott, but again I thought he made the wisest decision for his game play. I hope now the other players will start seeing him again in a good light, now that he voted Scott out. He might have some more repair work to be done, but I'm sure he can do that. I'm off to read Dalton's post and view the Ponderosa video. Thanks so much Jackie for posting them. Debbie in MD.

Okay, I've just finished reading Dalton's review and Jeff's Q and A. Here are some points I'd like to mention. First of all I loved Dalton's review. I loved how he started out with a set of things he loved so much including a cat purring on your lap and I love that he is a cat person! Just had to mention that because I am too.
Secondly, he reminded me in this post of how at the beginning of this episode the 3 (Scott, Jason and Tai) are sitting around and Tai says something about how it's time for them to start mending fences with the rest of the group, but Scott and Jason want no part of this. And how Scott goes over to Aubrey and gives her an ultimatum disguised in his mind as an olive branch-Do what we want by voting out Cyndey and everything will go back to normal. Aubrey of course sees it exactly for what it is and reacts accordingly. F that (well she didn't say that, but I would have) and who do you think you are dictating to us who to vote for (and wise Aubrey didn't say that to Scott either, but to her own alliance). But it reminded me that even at this very early point in the episode Tai was ready to mend fences with the others.
Thirdly, and this is from Jeff's Q and A-I agree with him about the Survivor auction getting old because basically everyone was saving their money for the advantage. I did like the part where you didn't know what you were buying food wise, that part was fun. I am sad to see that part go. But I think the way they did this reward challenge with players picking what to play for (food, advantage and love) was a great idea. It put an element of skill back into the game (you had to win the advantage, not just buy it), and it was fun to see who decided to play for the advantage. I thought for sure more players than 3 would, didn't most of you?
Also I have to agree with the Pea that mentioned Joe and with Dalton about Joe being the most boring and horrible at challenges Survivor player in a very long time. How is he still in this game at this point? I really had high hopes for him when this season started. He's a former FBI agent for gosh sakes, what an excellent thing to be when it comes to Survivor-with that as your background you should be able to look at someone and know when they are lying, which as we saw earlier he was able to do. I don't know, I just thought we'd see better things from him. I guess it just goes to tell you can never judge a book by it's cover.

Best TC ever. I am totally gunning for Aubry or Tai to win, and hope that they face off against Jason at the end, because there is no way Jason is going to have the sympathy of the jury. I wonder sometimes... are people like Scot and Jason following all the audience response to themselves, and understanding how much the world thinks they are dicks? Jason has been all this time. Yesterday after he won immunity he tweeted something like how do you haters like me now. So he knows about at least some of the hate. @jason we still Think your an ass! Lol

One thing I can believe is that they were edited to be the villains so we aren't going to see any mitigating factors and he may not be exactly the same irl. I don't know him irl and I become rather bitchy when I'm hungry so who knows how much was circumstance and how much was his real self. But he gave the producers a lot of footage to use as villainous. At times it seemed worse than Russell. Glad he's ok with his 'character'.

Debbie in MD. It's been widely known from the beginning by Jeff that there were 3 medical Evacs this season. I'm sorry if you hadn't heard that but it's not really a true spoiler anyway as we have no idea who it is.

Okay, so when I read Dalton's recap, Jeff's Q&A wasn't published yet, so I had no idea that he confirmed that challenge replaced the auction. Darn!! I mean I get it. I hated that the auction became all about bidding for the advantage, so I say, take the advantage out, use that in another challenge (like they did this episode) but still have the auction. I loved watching them figure out how to budget their money, I loved the mystery items they bid on which were sometimes awful and sometimes wonderful; I loved watching some of the more unusual purchases (like the bubble bath). I don't know, I always thought it was fun and I'm REALLY going to miss it. But I do agree that this challenge was a really good idea. I would just like to see a way that both can be in the game. You may have been alone on last week's post about not being mad at Tai, but others felt the same as you, I'm sure. In fact, my dh just scolded my dd and I for giving up on Tai last week. He kept saying that he still loved Tai and that people can make mistakes, yada, yada, yada. I agree. But if Tai hadn't redeemed himself, he would still be on my doo doo list. It's fun when we don't all agree though. I agree that timing can be everything and certainly played a role in Aubrey being able to get Tai to switch. But I think she deserves more credit than accidental good timing. She probably saw that this might be a good time. Plus, she knows how to read people and speak to them in a manner that would appeal to them (unlike Debbie who looked at Tai and said "I like you. You want to be in an alliance with me? Great, we're aligned together; that's that.) She made a good case, she treated him and spoke to him in a way that would make him trust her AND she had good timing. I really would like to see her win, even though I don't have her in the pool. But then the people we have left in the pool (Michele and Julia) have no chance of winning, so no sense rooting for them. I think Tai will get viewer's choice (if they still do that). I also read Scot's two interviews. What a fool he is. Yes Scot, editing plays a part; we all know that. But they can't give us what you don't give them. Your behavior was ridiculous. You don't see it that way, fine. The vast majority of us DO see it that way. I'm sick of hearing about you being the provider and you carrying the water, etc. Everyone plays their role. You don't like that role, then don't play it. But don't expect that people won't scheme and turn on you just because you're providing for them. That's just silly. There's a lot more to playing this game well than catching a few fish and carrying some sticks of firewood. He also mentioned something about being called "racist terms". Does anyone have any idea what he's talking about?

That's a good point Jackie and one I hadn't though about. Take the advantage out of the auction and still have the auction, and put the advantage into the challenge like they did along with a food reward and something else. Have both, but in different ways. I agree with you in that I really loved seeing them bet on different covered items and then seeing them turn out to be really bad things, or sometimes really good things-it was great fun, and I hate to see it leave entirely too.

I'd combine the auction and the gross food eating challenge somehow.
Nothing like paying $100 to have the opportunity to eat worms faster than your opponent. Ha ha

Ha ha I am sorry to see the auction go, too, but it really did become everyone sitting on their wallets waiting for the advantage to come up. I love the idea of combining it with a gross food challenge.

They could have hidden the advantage in one of the food dishes and not said anything. That would have been cool.
