On Saturday I am off to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, my daughter will be attending summer school and I have nothing I need to do apart from relax and enjoy myself. In previous years I have taken a bag of scrap stuff and managed several layouts or mini books. This year, however I have lost all interest in scrapping. What do you reckon- should I take my scrap stuff and hope some inspiration strikes or should I leave it home and explore with my camera in the hope that some interesting photos just might kick start me again? If you think I should scrap, please help me find some inspiration please. Thank you

When I have no scrappy mojo, I make cards. Maybe take your scraps and some of the your favorite stamps and just make some cards?

Or what about focusing on a a new technique? I love the look of some of what I'm seeing with watercolors lately, for instance, so I went and bought some watercolor paper and a cheap set to play with. Maybe look around on some blogs and YouTube and see if something strikes your fancy?

I would bring my laptop and spend some time editing and cropping some photos and getting them ready to upload and print. Just looking at my photos makes me want to scrap, and it always seems to take me forever to get my photos ready to print. The other thing you could do would be to look at some online scrapping mags like Create, Jot, Storytelling, Life Paper Scrapbook on www.issuu.com or browse Pinterest. Seeing things that inspire me make me want to scrap.

take photos+++! Do you do any other craft? i love the blog by lucy in the attic-attic24.typepad.com She is a"mummy blogger'who does wicked crochet and has a VERY entertaining blog. She lives somewhere in the Yorkshire dales and her blog include lots of wonderful scenic pics. Perhaps her site might give you some inspiration. Also she has been posting about an upcoming textile event in her home town called "Yarndale' Maybe your trip will coincide and perhaps you might be able to get some mojo from looking at other creative people's work even if it isnt papercrafts. This often works for me

I agree about the card making - you could put together a little kit to take away. Or how about collecting some ideas you want to scrap when you get home - with mags or using Pinterest?

Take some scrappy stuff, and your camera.
Scrap if the mood strikes you.
But take pics of where you are visiting and maybe plan layouts around them.
Maybe plan an outing that would be fun to scrap about.

If it were me? I would pop over to the "make your own embellishments" thread, snag some ideas, and just make random embellishments to store for scrapping later.

Thank you everyone! It might be the perfect opportunity to make some Christmas cards. I love making my own embellishments, aerynkelly, so I'll check that thread out. Camcas- sadly Yarndale isn't on while I'm there but thanks for the blog link. The town where it is being held is quite close to where I'll be ( which is the wonderfully named Giggleswick) I'm thinking of catching the stunning Settle to Carlisle steam train so will definitely be using my camera.

Camera - pics Laptop - browse for LO inspiration based on the pics you have taken (save this for any spare moments that you may have avail.) Laptop or Notebook - record your title, journaling & LO thoughts It doesn't matter that you get a lot accomplished. It only matters that you start

Watching YouTube tutorials always gets me in the mood.
As does scrappy shopping - even if it's only to a big box store.
In any event, enjoy your week!

I've packed a small kit, come card making stuff, my camera and my mini printer. There's a reasonable scrap store not far away so I will pop there and see if something new will help. I will have my laptop so hopefully with some new pictures I might get inspired. Thanks again.

Take scrappy stuff and the camera, if you don't inspiration is bound to strike. Try making a mini book, sometimes you just need to complete something to unblock the mojo. Check out my blog for my latest sketch in my Sketchy Sunday series for a little extra inspiration. Most of all, enjoy your holiday. www.scrapthology.blogspot.co.uk

Guess what? I forgot to take my bag of stash! I went out today and bought some bits and bobs and have my wee printer so I'll see what I can do with what I have. Possibly a mini book about my great grandfather who was one of the first photographers in South Africa and who was the war photographer for the Boer War in 1899-1902.
Thanks for the sketches chunka,I love sketches as a starting point.

That post has so many wonderful ideas. I also second/third/fourth the ideas for card making. I find them to be less pressure and easier. I usually start by finding a card image on pinterest, and use that as my "sketch." It helps get me going, even though my finished product rarely looks the same. I also love watching videos (like shimelle's). But really, the best way for me to get my mojo back is to actually touch paper and create. Good luck!

Sometimes it can be freeing to have less stuff, and only new things though! And I love the idea of a mini book about your great grandfather…he sounds like he lead an incredibly interesting life!

Attachment Deleted Yey I worked it out It has been a beautiful day so I went for a drive out to the stunning Ribblehead viaduct. I'd add a photo if I could work out how to! Anyway, just printing a couple of photos and I plan to "power through" and see if I can get something put together. Off to find a sketch. Thanks everyone.
