We have two cats that hunt moles all the time. They leave them on the door mats outside. One night I made the mistake of leaving the kitchen window open. When I woke up there were two headless, bloody, moles outside my bedroom door. Thank goodness I sleep with the bedroom door closed or they would have brought the moles onto my bed!

Our cats are indoor cats, but our Kit puts her puff balls in my shoes or my purse. Only my shoes, which makes my husband a bit jealous. It makes me laugh to find them in my purse, I guess she wants me to think of her when I am out of the house.

My childhood cat brought a few gifts in over the 14 years we had her.
Our current cat is funny. When we had our first black lab mix, the cat would catch mice and then give them to the dog to play with.

My cats don't hunt, because they have people for that! I wake up in the am w/a myriad of cat toys both on and off the bed. Also, one is completely indoors and one is outdoors sometimes.

Balled up socks, from the laundry, laid out in a line down the hall.
Every night between midnight and one AM is Her hunting time and it is accompanied by her extreme crying like an old lady.
She's an indoor cat so I guess she has to express it the only way available.
The way she does it all dramatic like, one would think she was single-handedly slaying dragons.
Ps there was also once where she got into it with the tv remote. Gave it a whoppin' she did and then proceeded to sit her significant girth right on top of it to further establish her dominance. Don't know what the poor remote did to start the row.

Only one cat brings gifts. Always socks. Usually one but last week he brought us a rolled up pair. And he gave DH's slipper to the dining room table.

The "bewitching" hour is what we call it. My male cat, Ziggy, has all sorts of toys he loves. He'll carry them around the house and leave them in front of the sofa for me. He likes to steal my makeup brushes--he found some in a travel bag I had on the floor of my closet. So to keep him from trying to steal my good ones, I gave him a really cheap travel kabuki brush I hate. The bristles are really cheap synthetic that doesn't pick up any powder and feels like you're trying to powder your face with the brush attachment from the vacuum cleaner. My mom and my inlaws buy the cats Christmas presents every year. I recently opened a set that was a set of felt cosmetic items full of catnip--a tiny Kelly bag, a compact, and his favourite, a little tube of lipstick. He also loves his life sized wharf rats--throwing them up and down the stairs and leaving them where I see them out of the corner of my eye at night...

Not too many things thankfully, but I have received lizards, a bird and 2 rats. One was dead, the other alive and the cat lost interest in it and ran outside. I couldn't catch the rat (it was very fast) so end up having to lock it in the sitting room with towels stuffed under the doors, then call the pest guy who came and put poison down. Ugh.

Oh my yes! My oldest cat will be 18 this summer. She started out a feral behind a grocery store. I couldn't get her very friendly enough to find her a home, so, she stayed. When we moved from an apartment when she was around a year old she discovered the outdoors and has been I door-outdoor ever since, so many present over the years. The most memorable was a flying squirrel (I felt so bad, I'd never seen one before!), a magpie (bigger than she is, also Koreas national bird and we were in Korea!) and a headless bird in my shoe on Mothers Day. How she knew it was Mothers Day is beyond me. She is a bonafide murder cat, my Rocko.
No one else leaves presents or kills anything, and we have had 6 cats in the time we have had Rocko.

I have inside only cats, so no live/dead animal presents for me.
I don't think they were presents (not really sure what the deal was) but my Millie used to collect various little things and put them in her dry food bowl. There would be the obvious cat toys, balls and toy mice, but then she'd also collect hair pins and earrings and occasionally a bottle cap or a straw if I left one on the table. Some mornings there'd be 4 or 5 different items in the food bowl...I'd say to her "looks like you had a busy night".
Sometimes I'd be in the bathroom and a little white paw would come up beside me and go tap-tapping along the vanity to see if there were any treasures there for her to collect.
I have woken up with a toy mouse next to me on the pillow and one time I was unpacking my work bag and there was a toy mouse in there - I figured that was in case I got bored or hungry at work...

You would think a feral cat would know how to hunt. Bummer! I think they have to be taught as kittens by their mama. Both of our cats were adopted from the ASPCA but now live a comfy life in the suburbs. They just haven't lost their instinct to hunt. They must have had a very street-wise mother who taught them well because they are both very efficient predators. I wish I could say it was just moles... SaveSave

Neither cat has ever brought anything live. They are indoors only. The Calico likes to peek her head outside the door when I'm waiting for the pups to finish their business. But, that's all.
They do bring me their McD's Beanie Baby inch worm from time to time. That thing is found all over the house.

Well this is making me glad I have an indoor cat! Funny to read about the prizes you get! My cat like to play fetch, so he only brings me things to throw for him.

Mine are mostly indoors, but they do kill the spiders in the house. I consider that a gift
