I have a second interview for a ECFE Teacher/Director position and they said one of the questions will be: "How to build and grow the program, ideas of how go out and get kids into our program"
I have a few ideas, but nothing that I think is really great or out of the box thinking. If you work in these programs, what do you do or what have you seen that grew your program.
If you are a parent, what drew you to the program you joined?
Thanks for any ideas.

Technology. They live streamed the classroom and I could see at any time what was going on.

Sort-of along these lines.... the program I am interested in is constantly posting pics on facebook about what they have done that day/week. They have a different theme for each week and are extremely active with the kids. You can tell they love what they are doing by how hard they work on their program.

I am not sure about live streaming, but I think posting what is happening on the classroom on the website or FB is a geat idea.
Thanks

How about hosting family nights at the center? Movies and popcorn are cheap! Family game nights are cheap too!

We used to take fliers and snacks to the hospital for the nurses lounge. We also used to go to the elementary schools pto and set up a booth to recruit younger siblings.

Wikis and blogs to share news, program plans and activity ideas with families. We used to offer to run a kids craft table at home shows, fairs, etc and we would hand out small bags of homemade play dough with business cards attached.
