Both of my girls are feeling the effects constant sunscreen. Their skin starts to crack after many days of sunscreen, so since August is approaching they are in sore skin mode, especially in face and neck.
We are at the lake - so they are constantly in the pool (salt) and lake, and aren't wearing hats when they're diving, Jumping, sliding, etc.
Any advice on more sensitive sunscreen would be appreciated. We use neutrogena. I was similar as a kid and I only used umbrell so I've thought about picking some of that up.
Thx, P.

I use a sunscreen stick on their faces and it seems to work great. I think the brand is Coppertone Kids and it looks like a huge chapstick in a tube. No drying or irritation.

Blue Lizard and Neutrogena are the only two that protect my fair skin, red haired daughter. The rest of use whatever works for her. I swear Banana Boat was like slathering baby oil on her. Worst sunburn ever! Coppertone wasn't much better than Banana Boat. None of us have had dry skin because of sunscreen.

I have very fussy skin and I use Coola. It is organic so pricey. Works wonders though and never bothers my psiorosis. www.coolasuncare.com/

We spend a lot of time in the sun down here. I have used banana boat baby for years...it has zinc in it. Recently though, I switched to CVS zinc sunscreen. It is a clear zinc and works amazingly well, in and out of the water.

Copper tone Water babies- rated very highly by Consumer Reports. It's a pink bottle. 50 SPF My Ds 13 has very sensitive skin and he has no reactions problems at all.

I am allergic to benzene ( I think that is the ingredient) and have to use titanium dioxide. The only one I've found that works is the Coppertone Water Babies Pure and Simple. Sometimes it's hard to find because it looks just like the regular Coppertone water babies, both are in a pink bottle. Target hides it in the regular sunscreen section not on the end cap.

cvs zinc sunscreenI've never heard of this. Does that mean it doesn't make you look white?

cvs zinc sunscreenI've never heard of this. Does that mean it doesn't make you look white? Exactly, no whiteness. The lotion is white, and when you first rub it in, it can look a little cloudy (particularly if you try to put it on before you dry off-which isn't a good idea any way) but once it absorbs, it is like any other sunscreen that you can't see. But it works amazingly well. My my only complaint is that you have a scrub to get it off, so I don't like using it on my face. My mother doesn't mind at all and loves it. We are a family that "tans" well and are outside in the Florida sun a lot-but we all wear heavy duty sunscreen. Over the years we have refined what works best and this stuff is one of our favorites.

I developed an allergy to chemical sunscreens a couple of years ago. Even Blue Lizard, which my whole family uses, was causing me problems. I switched the the Blue Lizard Sensitive version and have had no problems since then.
