...for a single event that will only last a couple of hours, where would you look? I honestly don't care about how comfortable they are and want them as inexpensive as possible. They need to be gold and an inch or two heel. Who wants to help me shop for some strappy sandals that meet that criteria?! They're to go with a coral dress with a gold belt...let me see if I can find a pic. UPDATED QUESTION: So what if I can't find gold - the photo shows what looks to be a dark nude. Do you think nude would be an ok alternative? If not, then what color? I've been scouring the internet since I posted this looking at all the suggestions and really can't find anything I like in gold for the price I'm looking for ($30 or less). I do have a pair of nude heels already but I love the style shown in the photo.

I kind of like these. Not so big of a heel that I would kill myself in them, but enough to be dressy. gold sandal at dsw

Do you have a Payless? That's where I seem to have luck with that type of show requirement.

Payless shoes. Actually since I got married I've bought shoes there. I had a very specific type of shoe in mind and no fancy department store had them, so I got my wedding shoes there. I used the bogo to get a cheap pair of flats for a friend. She loved them so much I bought a pair and have been replacing them there ever since. They're really good for a basic shoe, and they might be inexpensive but the shoes are not cheap. Perfect for your needs.

Payless for sure. I've often bought cheap pairs of shoes there for special events that I have no intention of wearing again. Usually the quality and comfort is better than I expect too.

You might have trouble finding a 1-2 inch heel at Payless. I've been searching for that for months now, and everything is either flat as a pancake, wedge (3-4 inches), or 3-4 inch spikes. They had what I wanted for a short time earlier this spring, but by the time I got to the store they were sold out and haven't restocked them. I don't dare try to buy online, as my shoe size varies so much between brand and style (a 7 1/4wide usually seems best, but of course there is no such thing). JCPenney had something close to what I wanted, but it didn't quite fit right. It's for DD's wedding, so I have to be comfortable in them for several hours.
Good luck- cute dress!

I second 6pm.com. Strappy gold heels were exactly what I needed for a wedding a couple years ago, and I bought a cheap pair from 6pm for less than $20.

I don't have any shoe ideas, but where did you find that cute dress? I got it at Dress Barn! It was on sale for $40.

Do you have a TJMaxx or marshals? I would look at stores like that as well. If you don't find gold, nude or black would be fine as well, especially for a few hours. Where did you get the dress? I love it!

The first place I would look is 6pm. Then I'd check out Payless Shoes.

Try Amazon!
My DD was looking for a shoe (she had something specific in mind) and we couldn't find it local. Found it on Amazon for a great price. Prime had it here in 2 days. Fits perfect & is exactly what she wanted.

If I only needed them for a one-off, I would ask all my friends if they had any I could borrow

Go to target - you can find something strappy. Right now they're having a buy one, get one for 50% off - you can pick up a pair of cheap summer sandals while you're at it.

Oh - and I'd also say, a pair of strappy gold sandals come in handy. I'd pay $20-$30 and get a halfway decent pair that isn't going to kill your feet or fall apart in an hour. Then you won't be scrambling next time.

Then you won't be scrambling next time. I keep kind of coming back to this thought. LOL But I'm also worried about matching the golds - the gold on the belt is very shiny and shimmery. I'm going to take a picture of it and take it with me when I go out shopping tomorrow...hopefully Target has something that will fit the bill because that's where I'm heading first.

If you want cheap shoes---go to Walmart/Payless/Target/Ross, etc. Your feet will not thank you You'll get more mileage from a nude pair than gold. You might be able to wear them twice!!! Don't worry about matching up the gold. Truly, no one is looking that close and it doesn't matter.

Do you have a FOREVER 21 near you? I was shopping with my daughter and bought some nude shoes that are VERY much like the ones in the photo of your dress! I could take a photo of them and upload but not sure how to do it! lol! I'll investigate. I think nude would work perfectly! We have a weather girl in Houston who wears dresses and nude pumps ALL the time and it always looks great...the leg seems to extend with the nude shoe, if that makes sense. My shoes were $29.99 and I have never shopped there (I'm much too old for that store, but these shoes are great and they are comfortable!)

Yep, I can't figure out how to load the phone of my shoes! Dang it! I looked online at Forever 21 and didn't see them! But I know they are in the stores now...I just bought them a week or so ago and this past weekend we went to an outlet mall in the area and they had a ZILLION pairs of them in there in black (not nude, like I got, but same shoe).

Just remember that you are the only one who will be able to tell if the gold on the belt and the gold on the shoes are not a perfect match.
