I just signed up for Hello Fresh. I started a new job last year and don't get home until after six, (At my old job, I was home by 4 if I didn't run errands.) DH will not cook. He does the vacuuming, dusting, and laundry, so it's a fair division of labor. But, I am starting to feel overwhelmed by planning a week's worth of meals that can be prepared quickly and I'm in a rut. In addition, our college-age son is only home for dinner a couple of times a week.
My daughter had a gift subscription to Blue Apron and loved it. I thought I'd try Hello Fresh because the meals looked more like something my husband would like. It's pricey, but it's about the same as takeout and much healthier.
Do you use Hello Fresh or another subscription meal service? Do you like it? Will it really save me time?

I use a service called A Dinner A'Fare - you can order 2-3 portion sizes or 4-6 portion sizes and there about 20 different entrees to chose from each month.
I like them because you go online, pick what you want and it is delivered to your house and frozen until you are ready to use. You only pick for that month do if you don't need the service next month, you don't pay. You only pay when you actually order something.
The meals take less than 20 minutes to cook and get on the table and they are so tasty!

I started using Home Chef. I love it. I just get 2 nights a week, but it's just enough to help me out of a rut. I picked home chef because some of the others seemed a bit too gourmet for my family and more time consuming.

I've used Blue Apron in the past but found out quickly that DH and I didn't align well with their recipe selection (too much kale/squash - DH won't eat). I gave subscription meal service a break for a few months and recently started up with Hello Fresh. We are on our fourth week of recipes. DH and I are both really enjoying Hello Fresh. I haven't made anything that either one of us straight up didn't like and have made multiple recipes that we both love. This week's sausage and pepper hoagies with roasted asparagus was delicious! I'm slow in the kitchen when it comes to prepping ingredients, so I tend to do them in batches so I'm not spending forever in the kitchen cooking dinner every night. For example, if I get two onions (for two different recipes), I cut them both up at the same time and just divide in half - use half for the recipe I'm cooking that night and place the balance in the fridge for the other recipe that uses an onion that will be made another night. I wash all the produce at the same time, rather than just the produce being used in the recipe I'm making at that moment. I had an issue with one of the recipes I was delivered this week. The chicken package was punctured and leaked chicken juice. I place all the meat packages on a plate in the fridge when I open the box from Hello Fresh. When I took the plate out to get the sausage package, I noticed the plate had some chicken juice pooled at the bottom of the plate. Upon inspection, I was able to find a tiny leak in the chicken package, so threw the chicken away and washed the packages of the other two meats that were on the plate. I called Hello Fresh yesterday to let them know I had to throw away the chicken (the rest of the ingredients for that dish are fine - no juice on them). Hello Fresh credited me $23 (cost of the meal) to compensate for the chicken. This is the only issue I have had, but feel this could happen to any meal service subscription, or grocery store for that matter. All that being said, I do recommend Hello Fresh!

We are trying Green Chef right now. We'll get our 2nd week next week I think. We've decided to use it for lunches. It's ok. One of the 3 meals what fantastic. The other was ok, I liked the fish but not 1 of the sides, and the 3rd just stunk. So we'll try it again and decide after that. I want to try Blue Apron or Hello Fresh.

We use Chefs Plate (Canada) and we love it. We get recipe cards and ingredients for 3 meals per week. Last year we were both balancing school and work and getting home late - meal planning and grocery shopping just felt like too much. It saves a ton of time and its great to know you're coming home to a planned dinner with all the ingredients ready.

My friend gave me a coupon so I got a free week of Hello Fresh. For free, I loved it. But I would never ever pay that much to have food delivered to my house. The tiny packaged quantities cracked me up though - a bitsy bottle of white vinegar, a shrink wrapped peeled garlic clove, and two wrapped scallions. It's a total waste of packaging for us.

I live in Niagara and haven't heard of this meal subscription service.

My BFF in Dallas absolutely loves Hello Fresh. She has been doing it for a while and hasn't been disappointed with a single meal. She has a family of four and has the meals delivered on Saturdays. She was just here for a visit and went on and on about it. When I looked it up, my ebates button started flashing - it offered 12-1/2% cash back, so be sure to use ebates!
I hope you enjoy it.

We tried Hello Fresh and Plated and didn't love either. Small portions and the recipes took too long, plus delivery issues-one week of hello fresh, every cold pack was punctured and leaking and so was a package of shrimp. Their resolution wasn't satisfactory. I would much rather find a new recipe that I think my family would like.

I've used Freshly and really liked it. (If you want to try it, please let me refer you so we both get some free meals!)
I don't/won't cook, and this isn't. It is a minimum of 6 meals per week, non-frozen, that you microwave for 2 minutes. The ingredients aren't weird, and the food is really good, even the quiche and the omelet. The serving size is 1.5, which is kinda strange because I find that it is really just past "enough" for me, personally.

We did Green Plate first. I liked that they were paleo/gluten free. But the kids (3 and 5) didn't like the food and it was expensive. We have been doing Blue Apron for a couple months now. We love it. The kids are willing to eat it. We do supplement some, since it alone really isn't enough for 2 adults and 2 kids at 2 servings per meal. I think that 4 servings for the family ones would be too much food for us. We have I think had one that I wasn't a fan of, the rest have all been really good. We have also used some of the recipes and techniques on their own since we liked them so much. I love not having to think, I just pick one of them and follow the directions.

Forgot to add...I would like to try Hello Fresh, I keep getting coupons from Zullily for them. But I keep having problems since our billing address is a PO box, I should try to figure it out!

Dont know if it is the same company but I have used Hello Fresh in Australia and found it to be really good.
It took me out of our comfort zone with some of the recipes which was good and I can honestly say that there was no recipe that we did not eat. Might not cook it again but we tried it and ate the meal.
I did think it was a little pricey on full price but I managed to get some really good specials so it was worthwhile.
