Afternoon ladies!! Last night I was sure I had the bug and from like 7pm until 3am, I laid on the couch with a stomach ache and just felt horrible. I never threw up and when I finally fell asleep for a couple of hours I felt much better. So I'm not sure if it was the bug (although I'm thinking not) or what but I felt SO much better when I got up this morning. I will say, having the stomach bug in the house has really changed my eating this week but not for the better. I've been surviving on toast and saltines. Sadly, I hit under 200 lbs on the scale today and I was less than enthusiastic. I was feeling pretty weak from the lack of eating this week. Yesterday with dh having the bug, I am not exaggerating when I say that all I took in yesterday was 1 piece of toast and 2 mini saltines. No water, no coffee, nothing else. It does NOT do a body good. So while I'm technically under 200 lbs, it definitely wasn't earned the right way and I expect to see a good increase in the scale over the next week when I get back to regular eating. I'm praying that me and dd2 will be spared...I'm thinking I won't feel like we've escape until at least Wed or Thurs next week though. Hope you're all having a great weekend!! ETA: And lemme just say that I was SUPER bummed that I forgot to log into MFP yesterday and lost my 123 day streak. LOL

More Lysol to your household, Brandy, and a HUGE congratulations on breaking the 200 lb mark!!! The weight loss challenge at my local OrangeTheory Fitness ended yesterday. The guy who won lost 30 lbs in 6 weeks. Didn't hear what percent of his body weight that was. He is a former football player, 20-something, getting back into shape for his wedding. The second place winner was a woman who lost 5% of her body weight. I did not participate because I had surgery the day it began. I came home and calculated that I lost 4.8% of my body weight in those same 6 weeks. While I am trying, I did not do anything above and beyond in that time. It's just been this soft diet which forced me to cut out pretzels, chips (tortilla chips), and my usual almonds. Plus the high intensity interval type training and weights at the gym. Interesting to know that I could have potentially come in second place. The winner won $2500! No money for second place, just a very nice goodie bag.

Way to go Brandy - breaking that 200 mark is awesome!
My eating was a bit of a crap shoot yesterday. I was up at 6 and got to work by 7:30, all I'd had all morning was coffee. And then we hit the road for DS' basketball tournament. We stopped at Tim hortons and I got a bagel. I just had to eat something, and hadn't thought to grab anything when we left the house. I did get cream cheese on it for a bit of protien/fat in my snack. Dinner out with the team was good, I stuck to a grilled chicken salad. But I caved at 9:30 and got a croissant at Tims for the hour and 40 minute drive home. I plan to do way better on tournament day 2!
Despite all that, I did have a loss, and managed to hit my mini goal of 190 today!! (now, I do have an insanely bad habit of stepping on the scale 3 or 4 times in a row on weigh in day. I had gotten on before I'd had my coffee just to "see" and it was 188.5, and then after coffee and in just my undies it was 190) My scale is fussy, so I tend to get on 3 or 4 times and take the weight that shows up twice to be sure. 190 it is!
Next mini-goal is 180!
Have a great day all - I'm off to sit on a bleacher and cheer for my son!

Morning ladies! melissa - Wow!! Almost 5% lost in 6 weeks is awesome!!! Congratulations!! How much longer will you be on soft foods? cakediva - YAY for reaching your mini goal!! I LOVE hitting the goals - big or small!! Things are slowly returning to normal here. I'm still not eating a lot but it's more than I've managed most of the week. I was down to 199 even this morning so I haven't even eaten enough yet to start gaining back what I've lost. I'm still feeling a bit weak today so I'm not doing much again. I haven't exercised in days and it just feels wrong. LOL A few more days to get through until I can feel like dd#2 and I can say that we're not going to get it. I have disinfected and cleaned SO much in the last week that my hands are a mess. I'm putting lotion on as much as I can but I'm still washing my hands like freaking crazy. I did some reading and it said that the stomach bug virus can hang around for as long as 2 weeks. So I'm taking NO chances. I'm washing my hands at least a couple of times per hour. I've used another container of antibacterial wipes just wiping down the most touched surfaces. And being extra diligent about keeping my hands away from my face. Ok, enough whining. I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend!!

melissa nearly 5% lost is awesome! Congrats! cakediva WTG on the weight-loss goal! That must feel wonderful! brandy327 I'm sorry everyone's not yet 100%, but WOW! Under 200 is AWESOME! Congrats, even if it's not the way you wanted to get there! It kind of reminds me of a line in "The Devil Wears Prada"--"I'm just one stomach flu away from my goal weight!" LOL! Today's been pretty good. Got over an hour in at the gym; got all my steps in. Yay! It's been a while since that happened. One of my May goals is to hit 10,000 steps no matter what. That's going to be interesting, to say the least, but I need to move my behind more! Hopefully the weather will cooperate and not be so cold and rainy and I'll be able to accomplish it! I've gotten my meal prep done and now I'm sitting here pea-ing while waiting for my hair color to take. Going to take a shower and hopefully come out with more reddish hair! I've made some goals for May--mainly get my 10,000 steps each day, exercise formally 3 days/week, and hit 20 lbs down before the end of May. I think they're definitely do-able. Now to keep the momentum going and not slack off! That's the biggest challenge!

Hello
I just got back from a wonderful weekend in San Francisco. My best friend and I go up every year and have a blast. I threw my WW points out the window and just enjoyed myself. I didn't go crazy but I also didn't want to track all weekend. We walked A LOT...like 15,000 steps every day. We. Rode Segways, we hiked 308 steps down to a lighthouse, walked another 100+ to old swimming holes....tons and tons of walking.
I love our annual weekend away - it really restores my soul.

It's been a crappy weekend for me eating wise, but a great weekend for my social life! Went out on Friday to a bar for a friend's birthday and had too much beer and too many potato skins. Then had a wedding last night, one of our table mates date backed out last minute so we had an extra dinner to share. And then today I was out with my mom and she loves to treat me to a good lunch when we have our shopping days.
I'll get back on track tomorrow. I'm much more regimented during the week than I am on weekends.

brandy327 Oh man! I hope the bug clears out of your house soon so you can get that 200 and feel good about it! You'll get there! needmysanity your weekend sounds lovely. What a treat for the body and soul! This last week was rough in some aspects--DD finally got over her nasty cold but she shared it with me. We're dealing with an itchy rash on her hands and feet (not hand/foot/mouth...we think it's an allergic reaction to some strong pool chemicals she came into contact with), and our overall schedule has just been crazy. I've gotten in all my workouts/lifting, but food has not been super strong. The scale stayed steady. This week is Teacher Appreciation Week, which at my school means at least 3 days worth of junk food in the mailroom. Tomorrow's theme is doughnuts, pastries, pies, etc. Wednesday is chocolate everything. Thankfully tomorrow I'm at a training all day so I'll miss that. Tuesday is fruit and veggies I think so I'll be good with that. What bothers me is how people will comment if I don't take something--like I'm unappreciative if I don't fill my plate with junk. Or how "you can have a doughnut or 3, you have room to spare!" No, no thank you. I really do not like this week. Appreciation is all fine and good, but not like this. We also have a baby shower, a field trip, and DD's last soccer game. On a positive note I scored some amazing seats for the Orlando Pride (women's soccer) game on Mother's Day--5 rows from the field! DD and I are going and are SO excited. Plus they play Seattle and Hope Solo so that will be fun to watch! I hope everyone has a great week!

My scale is fussy, so I tend to get on 3 or 4 times and take the weight that shows up twice to be sure. My scale is the same way. I can step on it 3 or 4 times in a row and get 2 or 3 different weights. I also go with whichever one shows up twice. Congrats on meeting your mini goal! Brandy, I'm sorry to hear you were sick. Stomach issues are the worst.
