Anyone here ever put together a program for something and sold ads? How did you figure out the price per ad/size? How did you figure out how much would go back to the group or event?

We sell ads to fund our neigbborhood (printed) directory. We take the total cost (printing and delivery mostly since the rest is volunteer time) and then divide by how many pages of ads their are. We do "upcharge" the back cover though.
We've had HS booster clubs ask for us to put a business ad in a football program. They usually run 1/2 page for $250-500 and there are pretty much ads on every page. But the program is in color and the same all year. The whole amount goes back to the club. I would guess they subtract expenses out (like in any fundraier) to get back to how much they can make. So your third question should be straight forward once you figure out #2 or you could use #3 to figure out #2.
