Ok, so I have been very careful all winter and my toe nails don't look too bad this spring, but they need polish on them. I don't normally paint my finger nails, it starts chipping after a day or 2 no matter what I do. So I have a few questions;
What are your favorite colors for your toes? Do you try to match to what is on your fingers? How often do you change color (not redo nails, but actually change the color)?
Thanks in advance for any help.

I go through phases where I wear the same color for months and then change. Right now I have a medium gray matte (glossy but no shimmer) topped by a silver glitter on fingers and toes.

I don't like to match my fingers and toes. I like to keep them different but probably half the women I know prefer they match. Right now I'm enjoying bright lavender, teal, and coral shades.

I love different colour polishes but somehow, on my toes, I always come back to a good true scarlet red. Can't beat it So no, I don't care if they match, they rarely do, and it lasts about 6 weeks I guess!

I only do my toes, I don't like my fingernails painted as I do such a poor job on them. My favourite colours are corals, bright pinks, deep burgundy reds and light blues. When it's sandal weather I change colour every week.

I'm really into coral and cornflower blue right now. I think I'm sick of pink and it's a great summer color. I have coral on my toes and a nude on my fingers right now.

Love blues/teals in the bottle, but they never look good on me. I stick with pinks and corals...sometimes bright shades and sometimes pale. Sometimes I match my toes and nails and other times I don't...no strong preference either way.
I change my toes once a month when I get a pedicure. I change my nails every week or more, depending on how my color is wearing and what I feel like doing.

I never do my fingers. I like the look, but it doesn't last.
Right now, I have a really pretty blue on my toes. I can't remember the name of it. I really need a pedi, but I have been too busy to go get one. I will likely get a pink or maybe a lavender. Really hope that I can squeeze it in today or tomorrow.

I paint my hands weekly and my toes monthly. My new favorite color is Rose Gold. These are the 3 colors I bought by Essie and Orly. Attachments:

FYI - Not my picture. I currently have this on my toes & I love it! I don't paint my finger nails, nasty biting habit.

I don't paint my nails, I just like them short and well kept. For my toenails I typically use pinks, reds and corals with an occasional dark purple thrown in.

My fingers and toes never match.
My fingers get a new color after 3 to 4 days. I have many colors, so I may as well use them! They're a deep blue color right now.
My toes are a light lavender color right now (OPI You're Such a Budapest). I've been freshening up the pedicure every few weeks, but sticking with the same color because I like it so much.

I don't normally paint my finger nails, it starts chipping after a day or 2 no matter what I do. Thanks in advance for any help. I very rarely paint my fingernails for the same reason as you (plus I am forever breaking my fingernails). But I ALWAYS have polish on my toenails, even during winter. I tend to stick with a pretty mid-tone pink, sometimes magenta. At the moment I have a glittery gold. I can go for weeks without having to reapply polish on my toenails so I only change it once every 2-3 weeks, with maybe a touch-up in between. I usually change colours when I reapply. On the very rare occasion that I paint my fingernails it may or may not match my toenails - depends on what I am wearing. For example, I went to a wedding recently and I wore open toe shoes. I was wearing a jade green print dress and I had green polish on my toenails, and the same base colour on my fingernails but with a blue/green sparkle topcoat.

Great timing! I just repainted my fingernails this morning! I'm wearing Nailtiques for my base, OPI Magnifico Mexico (a sheer bright coral/orange), with Nicole for OPI Cinnaman for My Dreams glittery polish on top. I like to layer my colours for a subtle change if I want one colour to skew a bit more orange or fuchsia or whatever. I haven't put a top coat on yet because I couldn't find my Essie Gel Setter top coat this morning. I loved the Seche Vite topcoat until I tried the Essie Gel Setter. You can use that topcoat on any polish, and it comes off like regular polish but wears like gel. I also love the OPI Matte topcoat. It really does make your polish look matte in a good way. I like it on top of glittery polish for a cool, modern look. I either use the Matte or the Essie Gel Setter. I love how shiny and thick the Gel Setter topcoat is. I love the look of glitter polish, but I'm not a fan of the feel. I do love that if you smudge the glitter or get a chip, it's so easy to touch up. gottapeanow & lainey --I was the same way about painting my nails. Until I started wearing Essie and OPI and using a base coat. Sally Hansen peels right off my nails. The Essie Gel Setter top coat is an absolute MUST. (it has a silver foil label) My nails that would chip and peel within a day or two are now staying pristine for a week or two! I would have never believed that. I keep talking about the Dior Nailglow, but I love this polish/treatment when I want to go bare on my nails. The last time I was at Sephora, they had the Perfect Formula pink gel coat as a sample for 100 pts. (just the pink coat, not the topcoat) It's a different brand from the Dior Nailglow, but I didn't like it as well. When I brush 2-3 coats of the Nailglow on, my nails feel like they did when I did the pink gel wraps (the kind where they wrap your nails with silk and put this pink topcoat on). It does make your nails look a bit whiter, but I rub the Sally Hansen white nail pencil under the tips of my nails to make them really white. When I'm done, it looks like I have on a gorgeous French manicure without the mess of painting on the white tips or worrying that I'll chip them off. annabella Add me to the list of peas that are dying to know the shades of the polishes you showed--especially the middle one! For my toes, I really love blues. Right now I have on OPI Get Your Number glitter sand on my toes. It's rather translucent like the Cinnaman of My Dreams, so tomorrow I'm taking the polish off and painting Essie Aruba on them (LOVE that shade!--gorgeous shimmer) and might put the OPI Stay the Night on top. I don't like the translucent polish by itself. The Essie Gel Setter topcoat makes the world of difference in me painting my nails. I just took a good look at my fingers in the light beside my bed just now, and I've worn the polish off the very tips of a couple of my nails already--I went and had my hair cut/coloured this afternoon, picked up a few things at the pharmacy--just bought the Orly Bonder base coat and a new Essie red gold shimmer--Wrapped in Rubies--can't wait to try it out!

I pretty much never polish my fingernails. I cannot tolerate even the slightest chip, so I don't even bother.
Right now I'm wearing Essie Sunday Funday on my toes. I really like this shade. I'll wear any shade, really. It just depends on what appeals to me when I'm choosing polish. I like blues, reds, corals, purples, pinks, etc.

It's not so much a peeling or chipping problem for me, it's more that I can't do my right hand with my left. I don't have enough control over it!! I'm interested in this though as I don't think mistakes would be too noticeable Barry M Mani Mask

I usually do something pale pink and sparkly on my fingers, like OPI Princess Rules. I find their sparkly polish doesn't chip (rather fades) so it lasts longer on me. I like something brighter / hot pink on my toes.
I know grey is in fashion right now. I came home with grey on my fingers last spring and DH told me I looked dead so I haven't worn it since.
I really like the rose gold colours in a previous post.
Paige.

I have a tomato red / almost coral shade on my toes and neutral pink on my fingernails. I do my fingernails every week and toes once a month at home. My toes and nails rarely match, and right now my nails are super short due to some unfortunate breaks, so they all got super short trims.
