Is anyone familiar with this tool? I've seen lots of dicussions on one of the Cardmaking FaceBook groups I belong to, but wondered what the Refugee Peas think about it. I'm one of those card makers that can not place layers on cards straight/evenly for the life of me! I think this tool might be the answer but, besides being out of stock all the time, the price is, well, yikes! $35 on sale plus the least expensive shipping appears to be $15. That's quite an investment. So. Is it worth it, or is there a better alternative? Just how do *you* get your card layers on straight and even? marsupialpapers.com/marsupial-layering-toolTIA

I've never seen or heard of this before (and the answer is, I don't get my layers straight and even!). I'm watching a youtube video of it right now. Seems odd that they have almost no info on their website and the product ships without paperwork (according to this video). It seems like a helpful product, although rather overpriced for a piece of plastic...

My layers are sometimes wonky, but not enough to spend that kind of money.....plus there are several die sets that are sized for card layers .....that is more my speed

I've seen diy versions made from photo mats.

I've seen diy versions made from photo mats. I'll go search for that too. I have a cutting machine that I think will cut thicker material (although I've never tried it). Maybe I could make my own photo mats from mat boards. Thanks!

For stitched dies check out Gina Marie. They are the cheapest I've seen. I bought them from www.katscrappiness.com

I like the name of the tool. I like marsupial's but dang that price! Wow! My eyes went to the price first. I love Gale's idea of DIY. Perfect Layers tool is it the same kind of thing? I don't really know about the layering tools since I have never used one. I know how all the cardmakers would rave about Perfect Layers and it's a must tool in their toolbox.

There are a lot of tools available to do, basically, the same thing. The Marsupial would be so easy to make on your own. You could use plastic or chipboard. It's just layering.

Thank you, Gale! I'm so going to make the DIY "jig". Great instructions.
I hope this helps me do a neater job of layering.
(I thought Perfect Layers were tools for cutting/trimming. Must be something different. I'll check those out, too.)

Yeah, the perfect layers are made so that you have to cut the bottom layers oversized and then cut down using the ruler. My problems are that the little stoppers on the rulers aren't always easy to get right on the edge when I'm using thinner paper, and sometimes I have trouble getting a nice smooth cut with the x-acto knife.

"...sometimes I have trouble getting a nice smooth cut with the x-acto knife." Gale, you need a sharp blade. I have bought a knife sharpener at our State Fair. It has a suction device on the bottom and works pretty good with my craft knife, I also buy my blades on-line in 100 packs for $17 or so. I go thru a lot of blades.

In the past I had problems with carpal tunnel syndrome and couldn't press hard enough with my hand, so I had to cut over and over and usually had trouble holding the ruler still. I have had surgery but my hand is still not 100% for pressing hard. Either way the darn rulers don't butt up against the thinner papers easily and it's too hard for me to keep it still.

Never heard of this particular tool, but I'm loath to spend that kind of money on something like that. I just eyeball layers pretty much and it works ok

For sizing, I am good with measurements, so I meaure and cut, but for placement I usually eyeball it. I have tried using a clear t-square ruler, but it never worked quite right for me for placement purposes. I am liking this tool: Kool Tak Layer Plus
I saw the Layer Creater posted above, but I like having more actual lines on the ruler. I have some Amazon credits maybe I'll go for it! Kristina Werner demonstrated this tool for Simon Says a few years back, but apparently they don't sell it anymore, or any other version that I could find. It had a different name back then.

I like the idea, but I don't want another tool, that I probably won't use much. And I'm trying to NOT buy every hot new thing I'm the queen of crooked scrapping, but I've learned to just live with it
