Haven't heard of her, but I am woefully undereducated about state politics.
What scares me more is that she actually taught children.
She seems mentally unbalanced.

That's not just a school board -- it's a seat on the Texas Board of Education. That's the board that oversees the entire state's public education. So she'd be part of the body that makes decisions for all public schools and curriculum in the state.
Her beliefs are so off the wall, that I'd have to think she'd be dangerous to the institution of public education in Texas.

Oh, yes. She is in a runoff for the Republican primary and then the winner will face a Democrat in November. Since East Texas tends conservative, whoever wins the Rep primary will likely win in November. Democrats all over TX are hoping she loses.

There is a huge difference between taking an alternate stance on a policy issue and muttering insanity and expecting people to believe you. The crazy bag lady on the corner is not qualified to be on a state board of education no matter how vociferously the voices in her head tell her she is. Also, bless your heart. |

I see crazy opinions all the time. What makes her any crazier than a guy in a dress? There is a huge difference between taking an alternate stance on a policy issue and muttering insanity and expecting people to believe you.
