I'm not surprised...it's part of wrapping up a business. I wonder if they will (eventually) sell the leftovers to a store like Big Lots or Dollar Store, etc.

Interesting, but not surprising. I'd imagine that the online sales probably slowed to a trickle in the last weeks they were open online.

I wonder if they will (eventually) sell the leftovers to a store like Big Lots or Dollar Store, etc. while they may have enough leftover stuff to have a warehouse sale, I doubt they have enough to sell off to BigLots. they will probably keep having warehouse sales until there is just enough left to donate to goodwill or have someone buy out the remaining stock just to clear the warehouse.

I would love to see what they actually have left. I bet a lot of crappy stuff. Heck they didn't have the good stuff in stock when they were open.
PeaS: I never shopped there, I'm just going by what I've heard

PeaS: I never shopped there, I'm just going by what I've heard I never ordered from them either. most of the things I ever wanted were out of stock and it wasn't worth the shipping cost for just a couple of items here and there.

I admit it: I wish I could go. Honestly, I'd probably thank them for having the message boards. I'm not knowledgeable about business, but their site gave me pleasure for years.

Sad way to go, essentially a huge garage sale advertised on Craigslist.
I mean, I even took credit cards at my garage sale. How the mighty have fallen. I hope they are able to sell everything, I'm sure they are anxious to move on. I still think it was poor business how they handled closing down the message boards.

It's only 10 minutes from my house but I have to work all day tomorrow. It would be interesting to see what they have left.

Here's the ad they should run:
"Scrapbooking supplies, only ugly shit left. Want to make a scrapbook for that SIL you hate? Or MIL? We've got your supplies!"

Hmmmm, me thinks that shutting everything down without any notice and ticking off the customers was not well thought out ... oh wait, that's why they're not in business anymore!
We had a LSS close up suddenly (store was run by 2 guys without any scrapbooking experience - so they opened down the strip mall from Joann's ... uhhh fail) ... anyway, they advertised garage sales for months - it was total dreck at the store, I never bothered with the garage sales! I'm sure this will be similar.
But whoever goes, post pics!!

I think if they hadn't left the customers in the dark as they did, they probably would have had a much better closing sale. I know they did what they had to do and that's fine. But they should have gone about things in a different way. I'm curious too what they have left. If I didn't live all the way in Massachusetts I would go just to check it out. I'd definitely love to see pics though.

It's interesting they're not doing credit cards - Square, PayPal card readers, etc. are all readily available!

I would love to see pics too! I wonder how much product is left?
I found 2peas as a customer first and found the forums second. As the products became less exciting or sold out I still stayed for the forums. I think how they closed was handled very poorly and that is the reason there is still inventory. If they admitted their faults and let everyone know what was going on and that they were closing I think some peas would have placed an order just to help.

Due to how they shut the boards down, I hope they're stuck with all that stuff for a long time !

I am surprised they haven't set up on Ebay and sell to the highest bidder. Last time I tried to order, the shipping was more than the product.

I hope they have a successful sale and are able to survive as a family. I've been in the position of having a family business go under and it is heartbreaking. They did have a poor business model and could have been more transparent about closing the boards but it still must suck to watch your business flounder and wonder what you are going to do for a living in the future. I wish them the best.

I am surprised they haven't set up on Ebay and sell to the highest bidder. Last time I tried to order, the shipping was more than the product. That... It's a shame but I got the feeling somewhere along the way, that it all went down hill fast. I realize that the industry isn't what it once was, but 2Peas was a leader in the hobby even when the boom went bust. I wonder if it had been too much, too fast or if they just lost interest in it?
