I wanted to share some of the pictures I took on our vacation last week. I recently upgraded to a full frame camera (Cannon EOS 5D Markii) and there is a huge learning curve. I'm finally comfortable with it and I'm happy with the pictures that I took. Any critics or suggestions you have let me know - I'm always looking for ways to improve.
We actually hiked up this steep hill to the church. There is a road around back but we wanted to hike it and it was so worth it.
Big Sur - I am afraid of winding, narrow roads but I drove Hwy 1 all by myself. It was a huge accomplishment for me.

My favorite beach and Pier in Cayacous. They are rebuilding the pier starting next month. I'm so worried it's going to loose all it's character.

A coastal storm blew in so I decided it was a great idea to go out on the beach. It wasn't...the wind was blowing like crazy. This picture looks fuzzy but it's from all the sand blowing around.

Very nice! I love your pic of the pier. I use the Mark ll and the 7D but it's amazing the color the Mark ll has.

Beautiful! I am so glad you shared these! I leave for my PCH trip in a few weeks. Any pointers for shooting? Anything you wish you brought that you didn't? I'm taking a wide lens, a moderate zoom and my nifty fifty, hoping that will be fine. I generally end up not always lugging my dslr around everywhere, so we'll see... Full frame is def on my wishlist in the next few years, but intimidating as well!

My biggest pointer is leave early so there aren't as many people on the road and at all the stops. Or go late and get the great evening sunset. By noon I'm usually don't shooting because the sun is too harsh and there are way too many people out in getting in my way. |

I bought a new prime lens and I'm in the process of getting a 70-200 lens - they are so much more expensive with my new camera. |
