And I can't wait!!!!! I am so over a couple of little boys in my class. No matter what I try, they do as they please. Actually they have all year and we've tried hard to get the parents on board to work with us. Hard to do when mom thinks everything their child does is so cute.
I'm ready for summer. How about you?

Trust me, the parents are just as ready. My kids get out June 10th and we have some school activity booked almost every night until then. Everything gets crammed into the last few weeks. I'm sick of making lunches and dragging kids out of bed and the damn 3rd grade math homework that makes me want to rip my hair out. Thirty seven steps to complete a problem we all learned to solve in 2 or 3 steps.
The kids are done. Parents are done. Teachers are done. Let's call it a day.

May 27th for me. I love the people I work with and the students, but at this time of year you are over just about everyone and everything!

Wow, we go to school here until June 24th. We have a looooong way to go.
But we don't start until after Labor Day so I guess it all evens out.

11 more days with students. 12 days total.
I'm done with "concerned" parents. And grading.

I'm with you. But I have a lot longer to wait. This is the worst time of the year. Parents are starting to realize that expectations are greater in high school and go from "what can we do to help Johnny get an A" to "It's all your fault. He hates school now because he's never had a B before. He's given up because of you!" Meanwhile Johnny's best buds are doing great. That of course means I hate Johnny and am unfairly grading him. Soooo ready for the year to end!

I have 8 days with students. My students are driving each other crazy. I haven't had tattling all year and now it's constant. It's maddening. I usually enjoy doing some fun activities now that testing is over, but I don't know if they can handle it. It's also frustrating to see that they aren't as far along as classes in the past.

I remember a few parents asking me if I was going to be sad that school was getting out for the summer. No, I was so very happy to not grade every evening and have a life for the summer. Who doesn't love having a vacation? While I was always excited from the parent's point of view, the teacher's point of view was 10x that!

Well, I just got a parent email that pretty much sums up my year:
"Dear Ms. Mergeleft, please excuse J for missing the concert last week. He was visiting his mother in prison."
Equal parts WTF and heartbreaking. Let's get this year over with!

13 days left for me. I had to shake things up to get kids to start listening to me again. Last week was tough. Today was good. Daily bribery works.

The kids in my class are too young to understand school is almost over. What they do understand is the stress of getting everything done and parents wishing school was longer. We are doing only fun and messy things this week, all things the kids love. But two little boys make it sooo difficult.

We still have three weeks to go here. I'm getting pretty sick of needing a crowbar to pry my kid out of bed every day, and now it's so light outside at bedtime it's impossible to get her to go to sleep when she needs to!

We don't get out until June 28th. So no countdown yet.

It's way too early to be counting down here. My summer won't start until July 2nd. The kids get out a week before that. However, my count down involves how many days until I get to sleep in late.

We get out June 10 and I'm not really looking forward to it. I will probably see less of my 7yo DGS during the summer. On the other hand, if I were a teacher, I'd be kissing the ground in thanks.

Oh my gosh, are you my son's teacher? Although we definitely don't think everything he does is cute, and he actually mostly behaves pretty well for her (or at least responds to correction) - but I'm sure he's responsible for more than a grey hair or two for her...
