Good morning ladies!! It's the last late start for my kids this morning so I have a fairly relaxed morning going on. We all got up at normal time since it's dh's birthday and he left at normal time. Kids all went back to bed and I'm sitting here awake. LOL Oh well, that means I'll get my workout in nice and early. The scale inched down a little bit from yesterday. Today should be a good eating day. I always make a birthday dinner for each person of the family - so dh picked a thanksgiving meal. So we're having turkey breast (which I'm going to brine), mashed potatoes, corn, carrots, stuffing, cornbread and cranberry sauce. I'll only eat the turkey, a LITTLE mashed potatoes, a little corn and a small piece of cornbread. I should easily be able to stay on track with that. Today my plan is to workout here in a few, then I need to make the cornbread, make the brine for the turkey, get the stuffing ready. Dessert is already made so I'm all set there. I did the W2D1 of the C25K yesterday and it went pretty well. I noticed that my right hip was a bit sore yesterday afternoon, which isn't uncommon with my arthritis. I think I need to find some good hip stretching exercises to do. I hope you all have a great day!! You girls are SO inspiring and I know we can do this!!

Workout for the day is done. I did 45 mins split between the elliptical, the bike and the treadmill. It's supposed to be really nice today so after I drop the kids off, I may head to the track to walk some just to get in some more steps. And I really want to give a huge ol' shout out to all of you that work PLUS keep your health & fitness a priority in your life. I work VERY part-time (1 day a week for just an hour and a half) and there are days where I'm like "how am I going to fit it in?" yet many of you do!! Great job ladies!!!

cakediva How're you feeling this morning after your fall? I hope you're not too sore! Surprisingly, I am a lot better than I expected to be! I was sure I'd be stiff as all get out in my hips/back. But other than my usual morning stiffness, I'm moving quite well. I can bear weight on my knee, walking without limping is a good thing! The bleeding seems to have finally stopped, so I'll leave it in the open air most of the day. I have an event tonight, our local Chamber of Commerce awards banquet, and I'm doing desserts for it, so of course I have to dress up and go. I'll wrap it for then - nobody needs to see the mess that is my knee!

Morning all!
Despite my desire to cave and eat half a bag of Chicago mix leftover from the weekend, I did not. I stuck to plan yesterday and behaved!
Tonight could be iffy - with the awards night there will be some amazing appetizers by a local caterer. But I will plan for it, and stick to plan all day, and try to stick to what offerings are best for me.
Have an awesome day all!!

Great job brandy327! cakediva - glad you are not TOO sore! I did the 55 minute Pure Barre class last night. Oh my....I burned 600+ calories according to my Apple Watch, and I only used 1lb weights. To be honest, I kind of sucked at it. Probably didn't help that most of the girls in the class were like 17, not 37. LOL (I heard several are going back to take the class today with their moms!) But it showed my how weak my lower backs is, and how tight and inflexible my hips are. I bought a pre-opening special for 5 weeks unlimited, so I'm going to keep at it and see if I notice a change. This morning I did BBM 5.0 day 2. As far as 'fitting it all in' I live and breathe by the calendar on my iPhone. I know I don't have kids, which takes up a lot of y'alls time, but my work tends to take up most of mine. I HAVE to put my exercise on my calendar and treat it as an appointment, or it won't happen. I don't blow off meetings with other people, so why blow off myself? I sit down on Sundays, look at the rest of the week and schedule everything around it. For example today: 7am - BBM 5.0 9:30 - Conference call 10:30 - Interview candidate 12 - 3 - Offsite meeting 1-2 - Conference call 2 - 2:30 - conference call 3-4- interview 4-5 - interview 6:30 - mani/pedi 7:45pm - dinner 8:30pm - walk

Good morning! I planned to do the BBM day one fit test last night but when I got home, it was after 8:00 and DH and the kids apparently wanted to spend time with me for my birthday. Lol. So, I did it this morning. Yikes. It was short by tough. Eating was crappy yesterday as well but I WILL be on track today. We have a game tonight. I had some time between the field trip and my client (they were both in a town an hour away) so I went to the outlet mall. I got a new sports bra at old navy and some workout shorts at UA. Probably won't wear them in public but thought I might get hot doing my workouts in leggings this summer. Also got a few shirts and some fun necklaces. . I'm off to take a shower and get to work. Hope you all have a good day!

A WW leader who sends out a weekly newsletter sent this out yesterday. I thought it was awesome and perfect to share in the group:
As you are probably aware, a few years before he ran for president last year, Dr. Ben Carson served as Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Almost every surgery he performed held life and death uncertainties such as lifelong disabilities or death. He had the unenviable task of guiding anxious parents through their options that included permitting a procedure that could potentially improve their child's life or end it.
Dr. Carson suggested the parents to do what he called a "Best/Worst Analysis:"
What is the best thing that can happen if I do this?
What is the worst thing that can happen if I do this?
What is the best thing that can happen if I don't do this?
What is the worst thing that can happen if I don't do this?
Obviously, making choices such as having extra helping of mashed potatoes at lunch, taking the stairs instead of the elevator or deciding to get focused individual coaching are not necessarily life and death. But I think this Best/Worst process is valuable - especially in helping to reinforce your good decisions.
I invite you to try it out this week. Take a few simple decisions and put it to the test. I have found that it brings clarity to the situation and especially with food, makes knowing the right decision easy. Following through on that decision is what counts, of course, but having gone through the process - practicing mindful eating - will many times take just enough time for the urge to indulge pass.

Morning - well, almost lunch time now! I was at the Gym at 4:30 this morning, upped my treadmill to 15 minutes (have only been doing 10) at 3.0 - 3.5 so that is an accomplishment for me. Finished out the 45 minutes of my hour with weight machines concentrating on my legs and arms. I have no upper body strength and this is really helping. I'm on week 5 of going to the gym at least 3 times a week and adding more activity at home besides couch surfing . Now I just need to get my eating habits under better control! Have a Great Day!

I have had an excellent morning!
I had a doctors appointment to talk about my stomach issues. We are changing my meds and he said I need more fiber (not less like I thought he would say). According to his scale I have lost 3 more pounds than my home scale says and he was very pleased with my lifestyle changes. The last time I saw him was in December when he told me I needed to make some drastic changes so he was very happy with where I'm at. His goal weight and mine are 5 lbs off so if I go by his weight I have 16 to loose not 11. I will get to my goal weight and then decide if I want to lose that extra 5 or not - lol.
Then cause I was so happy with my appointment I ran into Old Navy and tried on a pair of size 10 pants AND THEY FIT! I tried on 2 other styles just to make sure and yup...they all fit including shorts. I dropped a quick $100 and headed into work.
Last time a size 10 fit me was 8 years ago - I'm super excited and it was the NSV I needed to keep moving forward with this journey.

Congrats to you, needmysanity! I am on the last 24 hour stretch of my personal insanity. I worked 24 hours from Sat 7am to Sun 7am. Worked out on Monday morning and then worked 7pm-7am. I go back tonight for another 12 hours. This is 2 weeks worth of work for me in just 4 days. Scale flickered on Monday morning so that I saw my most recent low from a week ago, but it didn't stay there. My scale is in 0.5 increments, so I'm guessing I'm probably about 0.25 lbs away. Probably will not hit that this week with all this work. Very hard to stay on the right path with these hours and the unpredictability. Last night, there were pretzels and corn chips (Fritos!). I did have a few of each when I was stressed. I also had a tangerine and a tiny hospital sized melon fruit bowl. So, not as bad as it could have been. Plan for the week is to get through tonight. Not planning exercise tomorrow as I will be exhausted. I do have a lunch and movie date with dh though.

Like brandy327 I don't see how those of you who work keep it all together! I'm retired and can't even get the food prep done. At least I make it to the gym almost everyday!
cakediva Glad you're ok and not in much pain!
*KAS* My hips are weak, too. I need to open them up before I do glutes because I can't feel anything working. I've been watching some youtube vids.
needmysanity Congrats! That's a great feeling, isn't it?
I'm doing the same total body workout that I did last week with trainer- it's 3 days a week. The other 3 days I go to regular gym and do my own thing. He is going to change it up next week to body parts- I'm getting bored but can definitely tell that he has hit some muscles that I haven't. I just needed someone to look at what I as doing.
Keep up the good work ladies!
