YES! I make stuff up in my head to continue their lives. Usually I insert myself as a love interest if there's a handsome man involved in the book. Haha so Sharlag. I often wonder and hope for a sequel but I don't usually make up one with me in it.

I wonder too. I hate when a really good book ends! I just want it to keep going and going and going. Very sad.

Yes!
It's weird, I guess, but I sort of become attached to them. Even though they're not real.

With books, I don't think about the characters. Once the book is finished, I just move on. But I watched Guiding Light my whole life. I still think about those characters from time-to-time and wonder what they'd be up to in Springfield now.

Yep. To me it is a sign of truly great book. Yes, that sums it up. My son, who (sadly) is not a reader in spite of my hard pressed attempts to make him one, says Mom how can you read such big books? I always respond that if it is a good book, I don't want it to end.

I don't mind writing a sequel in my head. That way I get to control the direction the characters go.
But some sequels just don't need to be put down on paper, especially by someone other than the original author. Scarlett, sequel to Gone With the Wind, I'm looking at you.

All the time!! I don't start another book for a little while, because I'm still living in the world of the last one! I also still wonder what's going on at County General, since ER ended...and I wonder where Mulder and Scully are now!

I loved how their love story played out in the series. I miss that show and Lost as well.
And with this post, I am now a throbbing member...how appropriate that it would be a post about the yummy Fox Mulder/Hank Moody-better known as David Duchovny.

Yes! A truly good book with great character development always leaves me wanting to know more. That's also the reason that I love series books.
