I'm sure you can find some lovely timeless earrings for $50. I would stick with that.

if she doesn't have a yeti cup or a swell bottle, she would probably like that. i know it isn't earrings.  kendra scott earrings. the young girls love those! some nice pearl or diamond look earrings? |

We did Alex and Ani. All the jewelry has meaning. Alex and Ani has been my go to gift for dd for special events in the last 2-3 years. I often get her a bangle bracelet with a charm. She also has at least one pair of earrings and a matching ring that came from a friend. There is a website but there are also local stores (check on the website) and department stores also carry some of their line. Each comes with a little card that explains the meaning behind the piece.

Do you have JC Penney near you? They have some sterling silver earrings on sale under $50 but regularly $100. They sell fine jewelry so I would go there and ask the counter sales person to show you what is on sale in the $40-$50 range on sale. They also have 25% off purchase under $100 so you could get something nice. If her mom is getting her pearl earrings I might go with a bracelet. Alex and Ani stuff is very in right now, but also sentimental/meaningful. If I were buying a graduation gift for a girl this year, that's what I would choose.

Are you sure she likes earrings? I can't even wear regular earrings, but I wouldn't have really liked them anyway. What about a nice fountain pen and some ink? |

Is she going to college/sorority? Alex & Ani have bracelets for those interests as well as sports or any hobbies.
Cash is always good too!
