This is a challenge to use up some of those kits you have been hoarding saving for the right pictures! these can be kits from a kit club, a particular line or a kit you made yourself. All types of kits are welcome - scrapbooking, project life, card, mixed media, etc. If you can, post a picture of the supplies you start with and then your finished projects as you go. You determine what "killed" means to you - just make a dent in it! Let's see how many kits we can "kill" over the next month!

I am currently working to "kill" the Studio Calico Valley High kit. I got this in their Black Friday sale so even though it is not a kit I picked out myself, I do like it I have made 5 layouts so far. I do add other embellishments and paper from my stash as needed.

Love the layout! I made a baby card last night that included 2 much older lines! Paper and a fuzzy lamb from Making Memories, and a transparency "Baby". I would love to "kill" the embellishment pack of fuzzy animals. I don't see myself using a purple spotted giraffe any time soon

I love, love, love your layouts and hope you don't mind if I pinned them. I'm always looking for 8.5x11 layouts to scraplift. Beautiful job on these.

I love the middle one too, meganliane. I think I'll try something similar for my niece's album

I have been working today on trying to 'kill' the consumables in the Shakers & Sprinkles card kit I got from Papertry Ink. I'm going to use some of the patterned paper in my PL album but today I made 3 cards:

I was reading through a thread on another board (gasp! Lol), and I had a sort of kit breakthrough. It feels like, when I sit down to scrap, the first thing I do is reach for a kit, yet the kits keep piling up. People on this particular thread were taking about how they conquer/kill their kits, what their process is. I know there is no right or wrong way but, up until now, I'd pull a kit, make a LO or two, then collect all the scraps and everything left over, and put it all back in the bag. Then, I'd take the now partial kit, and put it back in the basket with the rest of the kit. Looking back, I now see how counter-productive it has been.
Many people on that thread said that, once their kit arrives, they open it up and sort through it - some keep the solid papers in one pile, patterned papers in another, then sort the embellishments into small dishes on their desk. All of the separated elements would sit on their desk until either the kit was "killed" or the next month's kit came, whichever came first. So, once I get some new pics printed (hopefully this week), I plan to get started on this new approach. I already have a kit picked out, and I can't wait to break into it.

I used to do the same thing as you but now try and keep using one kit until I use it up... Unless I get sick of it. If that happens, I may store the papers together and a few embellishments but the rest goes in my stash. Good luck with your new "kit killing" process - show us what you make!

I have a STUPID question--- I don't buy "Kits"...I have a TON of paper, this and that and insanity whatnots--- how would you suggest making a kit? There was a you tube gal that did some kit making-- but cant remember her name or if there are other You tube videos or instructions somewhere to know how to do this... yeah...I"m blonde, old and tired... for some reason I can't for the life of me figure this one out?

Nicmackin puts together kits from collections. Scrappypedia puts together a kits from stash each month. Both are on YouTube.

Glitter Girl also had an episode on this - Here is a link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDZkCDKbc-0I also found this "kit club" which is pretty cool idea - They give you recipe guides and a mood board to use to make a kit. It is called Two Girls and a Kit - Here is a link to their summer kit: amandaobanion.typepad.com/my-blog/2014/08/two-girls-and-a-kit-summer-kit-reveal.html

I have also "killed" the Sandlot kit from Studio Calico. I will try and post some of those layouts later. How is everyone else coming along?

I've been trying to 'kill' another Papertrey Ink kit (Beautiful Brushstokes). I made 4 cards and did some stamping for another 6 (going to be a set of cards to give as a gift)

So far, I've done two layouts with the kit I chose. It's a Citrus Twist main kit/PL kit combo because, when I get my kits in the mail, I mix them both together in the same bag. Once I take pics of the LO's, hopefully tomorrow, I'll post them. I'm also hoping to find a pic of the original kits, so everyone can see the supplies I started out with. It's funny because, when I unpack my kits, I always think how I wish there were more products in them. But, now that I'm working to kill them, it feels like a never-ending bag of goodies. Lol. By focusing on one kit at a time, it does seem like a more feasible way to kill kits. How is everyone else doing with this challenge?
