I'm going to use my Costco Rotisserie chicken and make chicken soup. I'll get some fresh french bread to serve w/it and dinner will be complete.
What's on your menu?
Have a wonderful Friday. I don't have a happy hour thought that isn't even dorkier than usual. Make every hour happy!?!?!?

Spaghetti and meat sauce for us. I'm off today and we're at a dealer leasing a car for dh then we're going to the beach for a little bit.t
Update: Traffic was horrible so we turned around, picked up Chinese food and went home. The ground beef that was going into the sauce will be browned and frozen for another time. So after eating at 2:30 I think popcorn or ice cream will be dinner!

We're having Loaded Buffalo Chicken and Potatoes, roasted cauliflower (orange & white) and broccoli, corn, Italian bread, orange cream jello, strawberries and blueberries, and a caramel brownie cake for dessert. Yes, I am cooking for a crowd tonight. Literally. DD invited "a few friends". I'm not sure what her definition of "a few" is, but I'm prepared. My meals may not win any awards for being healthy, 5-star, inventive, etc., but they are edible and very colorful.

Thankfully tonight's baseball practice was cancelled, which means for the first time since Monday we'll actually be eating dinner at home.
That being said, it's going to be a quick and easy dinner of sausage, bean and spinach soup. I'm even being lazy and not baking biscuits, etc., instead I'll stop by the store on my way home from the office and pick up a crusty bread.

It's our regular pizza night, so I picked up some pizza dough at Publix. It's seriously good! I'll make one with sausage and pepperoni, and the other will be a veggie supreme.
Last night I made strawberry bread, a strawberry pie, strawberry muffin batter which I froze, and some strawberry sauce for ice cream. And I still have lots of strawberries left over. I think I'll just freeze them as is for smoothies.

My brother is just so darned earnest. He means well, he really does. But he's a former high-level business executive now turned house husband, and he just can't quite sit still. He's always trying to fix things. All that to say, after I told him how good the tamales and chili verde he brought me last week were, he went right back to the Mexican deli in the Mission and bought more. And brought them out to me. And I kinda feel like I can't breathe here, no matter how good it was. So I'm eating Mexican food again tonight. And maybe a little spinach salad to go with it.

Something with ground beef because it needs to be cooked up tonight. I don't care for ground beef so I'll let DH decided...sloopy joes, tacos, chili? I've been eating horribly this week, so I need to get myself in check tonight. Maybe fruit salad for me.

lucyg - I am coming on a plane to eat with you and your brother, I swear. I used to get tamales from the mothers of the kids I taught in Tucson. So delicious and welcome for a young, new teacher on a Friday night. Your brother is awesome and wonderful. But you probably already know that! We are headed to friends who own a house at a local lake. It's too cold to go out on their boat they just bought off Craigslist, but they will grill steaks on that egg thing and have salad and baked potatoes. I made four berry hand pies for dessert. Thanks for the thread.

Girl Scout camp this weekend, the girl leaves tonight and returns Sunday morning. Maybe we will have a little date night tonight. A much needed one. Saturday night I am going out with a co-worker. Don't know what I was thinking, leaving the house at 9:30pm! I am usually in bed by then. Should be interesting, we both said we will need to take a nap before we go out! LOL!

We are having my homemade version of Sloppy Joes. It's a recipe my Mom made years ago but called it BBQ Hamburgers. French fries will be the only side. They will be delicious because we haven't had them for a while.

Arrggh! Turns out I have an abcessed tooth which, needless to say, is giving me a good bit of grief, which is also making it extremely painful to chew on either side of my mouth, which probably means mashed potatoes, mashed burger patty, and mashed beets for me. (how's that for a run-on sentence!) Or scrambled eggs. Or tomatoe soup. Or something equally unexciting. Poor DH is on his own.

We ordered pizza. One thin crust pepperoni and one thick crust special which has basically everything on it.

Sam's chicken. There's also enough pastrami in there for a pastrami and Swiss sandwich for one of the boys. I also have a couple of bagged salads in there, but I will probably eat one tomorrow. I ate brunch out at my favorite local breakfast/brunch place with my second cousin, who is visiting from Ohio. Delicious food and lovely conversation. The meals are insanely huge; I only ate half of mine, and I will likely still be full by dinner. The main thing is that I do not need to do much. Lisa

Lately bean with bacon soup has been mentioned on this thread and that has gotten stuck in my head. So guess what we are having for supper tonight. Yep, along with fresh tea biscuits.

Tball game at 5. Going to use the leftover Korean beef to make soft tacos. Rice and fruit for the sides. Easy peasy!

DH and I just got home from playing 9 holes. I shot a 53 witch is 7 strokes under my last score so I was pretty happy! And it is WINDY beyond belief. I am going to fix some sausage that I meant to fix a few days ago and switched gears.

Spinach and Green Chile Quiche, with a green salad. This is a recipe my sister gave me, but the first time I made it, I thought it was pretty bland, so tonight I added this and that and we'll see how "my" version turns out! Vegetarian DS is home later tonight so I will save him a wedge.

It was good. DD was wary at first, commenting 'does fish even go with cheese?' But DD & DH both liked it. I liked it as well but the sour cream did seperate a bit with the lemon juice so visually I found that less appealing.
