Do you ever find yourself doing something random, and wonder if anyone else does that too?
For instance, I realized the other day I see certain times on a digital clock and my mind thinks of it as a date. Every single time. Like 7:27 is my DH's birthday. Any time I notice it's 9:11 I remember 9/11. I have specific times/dates I do that with, but not all of a kind- for example, not every birthday, just DH and DS1; or my parents' anniversary but not mine. It's just a weird quirk, but lately I've wondered if anyone else does that?
Is there anything else you do that might be considered odd?

I count things (in my mind) - while I know other people do it - not everyone does.
When I walk, I am counting my steps. When I am waiting at the doctors - I count the ceiling tile. When I am sitting at someone's desk, I count the pencils in their cup. When I go to a meeting, i count the number of people there. My mind is always counting things.

I have a bad habit of putting my hair in my mouth. I pull a bunch of hair from the left side of my head and then hold it between my lips. Or sometimes I hold it between my teeth. (But I never bite it off or chew it...that would be weird.) I don't think I've ever seen anyone else do it.

This maybe weird, but I wonder if people are home alone do you close the door when you go to the bathroom? Or if you are in a hotel room alone? or your bathroom has one of those "poop hut" rooms, do you close that door or the main bathroom door?

I type an imaginary keyboard while songs are playing, while other people are talking . . . really, ALL the time (If I'm not already typing at work). I challenge myself to see if I can keep up with the spoken words. And I get a little angry when I can't. I'll replay a song to try it again until I can actually keep up.

I'll ask myself bizarre questions (in my head), while I'm doing something....for instance, let's say I'm eating soup. I'll ask myself, "I wonder how many other people at this exact second are eating this same exact soup?". LOL!

At home I don't close bathroom door if I'm home alone ( I do close the bedroom door though and bathroom is in bedroom. But I'm slightly claustrophobic so I prefer the extra 'space' lol In a hotel even if I'm Alone I close and lock the door. Never feels right not to. We don't have a seperate toilet room but I assume if it had a lock I'd choose the larger space. So there you have one answer.

I'm a counter as well. I see 12:34 on the clock quite often, and not as often 11:11.
When I was a kid I used to think that my life was being filmed and people on the other side of the world were watching - so I tried to do interesting things so they wouldn't be bored. LOL So weird.

I see 9:11 almost every day. It makes me sad, but I guarantee I will never forget!

I count in fours when I am walking or running or even waiting in line. (I do this silently in my head) 1-2-3-4, 1-2-3-4,etc. It is usually accompanied by me tapping my foot or twiddling my thumbs. DH is always reminding me that I am foot tapping in fours!

And I count on the takeoff......from the moment we start accelerating to the time where we are pretty leveled.... I never know how fast we are going to descend though, so I cant' say I count then.
I prefer to use the bathroom with the door open.....when it's no one but me and the dog! Throwback to little kid days, I guess!

Bathroom door is closed but not tight when I'm home alone. Sometimes I talk to myself but not out loud. I tap my fingers while listening to music all the time. I see 11:11 ALL the time, probably everyday. Ok, I'm weird.

I talk out loud to myself. I also answer my own questions.
I count the sides of shapes and number of articles but I want the numbers to come out to 5 or 10.
I stare at random patterns (such as tree bark) to find familiar shapes. Sort of like looking at clouds.

Where to begin. I feel like I have too many quirks to even count. I guess one that comes to mind is that I click the lock button on my car until I'm too far away for the signal to reach. So I'm sorry for everyone around me, that has to be quite annoying.

Yes and yes At home because I don't want the three dogs watching me wee and at a hotel because it's almost public

My kids make wishes when the numbers on a clock are all the same, 11:11 is a favorite.
I talk to myself out loud. I'm sure I look completely crazy, especially since it's usually quiet and mumbled.

Now see, I consider talking to and answering oneself to be completely normal. Who doesn't do that??
It's fun to read all your quirks and eccentricities!

We've been keeping an eye on it, wondering how worried we should be.

Now that I have a fitbit, I count my steps. Have to make sure they match! And its pretty accurate.
I do the imaginary typewriter thing too sometimes.

I touch or press my fingertips and thumb against each other or against what I'm touching in specific, methodical and symmetrical patterns. Dh and DDs tell me I'm doing it even when I don't realise I am.....like, if my hand is on Dh's leg I am pressing my fingertips onto his leg in a rhythmic pattern.

I'm 'that' crazy lady talking to herself LOL Oh my gosh, one of my own parenting things with each of my kids was to talk to them pretty much all of the time when we were shopping. They were sitting there, right in front of me, facing me, with nothing at all to do, so I figured I'd narrate or comment or question pretty much everything we looked at, picked up, etc. while shopping. Every once in a very, very rare while, I would actually find myself shopping alone, and I cannot tell you how many times during those rare solo trips I would catch myself talking out loud to my invisible child about the grocery item I was choosing. Then I'd glance around to see if anyone "caught" me being a loon.

Oh, and apparently I have a phone-answering voice. If I know the person, then as soon as I realize who it is, my voice returns to normal, but if I do not, I keep the fake phone voice.
Multiple people have pointed it out to me, but I never realize I am doing it. It's not intentional. And obviously, it doesn't happen quite as much now that so many phones have caller ID.

When I am driving and a car cuts me off or does something stupid I yell at the car.
Also, whenever I go outside at night and see stars I make a wish on the first star I see.

So I'm sorry for everyone around me, that has to be quite annoying. This is only annoying if your car horn honks every time you click it. Those honks startle me every time and I want to punch the offender. I always leave the bathroom door open when I'm home alone. I worry sometimes I might forget when I'm not alone! Not enough to stop doing it though. I also do a lot of counting.
