Oldest DD will be a freshman in college this fall. She was looking at the Vera Bradley collegiate backpack to carry her laptop, etc, around campus, but one of the criticisms in reviews was the fact that when it rains, your backpack is soaked.
Any alternatives that are water resistant, and come in a pretty pattern? Thanks!

I really like all the bags and accessories at Sakroots. They're made of tightly woven canvas, some coated, and hold up really well. They have some fun patterns too .

You could probably spray it with weatherproofing, like Scotchguard, but I've never tried it.
