I just watched it. I honestly didn't think it was very funny at all, and I love comedy and humor.

I was like ok that's a little funny and then was like why the heck is this going viral - really?? It's not that funny, I agree. I love funny, but honestly something that an adult posts that thinks is funny is less funny to me than something spontaneous like some little baby doing something that has no idea he/she is being funny.
It's even less funny to me that it's viral and people are like OMG this is SOOOOO funny.

Another who thought it was cute, and she seems like a fun person, but forwarded through most of the hysterical laughing bit.

I thought it was fun to see validation of a mom playing with a "toy". I seriously want to take apart all of my kids lego sets and rebuild them myself because I see the joy they have in them. Just being geeked over the mask and owning that it was hers was refreshing LOL.

I had not seen it before this. I can appreciate her finding joy in a little thing. Like others have said, we all seem to need more of that in our lives.

I don't know what it says about me and my friends, but this didn't show up in my FB feed ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/OrTI4SBmZ2ZYSFv6ag4f.jpg) . I did see Candace Payne on GMA this morning and she came across as a very genuine and joyful person. The video was cute but I honestly wouldn't have felt the need to share it.

The mask wasn't the funny part. It was her glee and uncontrolled laughter that got me laughing with her, even while I was cringing slightly.
It reminded me of once when my band did a jam session of Hotel California and the drummer got his words wrong. Instead of "warm smell of colitas rising up through the air" it came out as "warm smell of colitis" He started gurgling, then I started, but it was the lead guitarist standing there saying "it's not funny" that had everyone else in tears. It began with a joke, but once you start that kind of hysterical laughter, it's really hard to stop. I still giggle when I think of that.

I AGREE with you J u l e e !! I saw the hype but had not seen the video yet. Finally gave in and watched it. Now I am like, she seems sweet and all that -- but what the heck is "so funny"? Maybe because I am not an avid Star Wars fan? I don't know but they have talked about it for 3 days straight on Good Morning America including flying her to NYC to appear on the show today. Wow. Just. wow.

Nope didn't get it, didn't watch all of it.
While I'm sure she is nice, I think it's odd it's getting so much press. GMA appearance- really?

I smiled slightly, but quit watching after about 20 seconds after her laughing started. It probably is one of those you had to be there things ![:yeahthat:](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/yrGoHMAelQz8f2Qt0sjb.jpg) I heard one of the morning radio DJs say something about it but hadn't heard anything about it previously. I didn't even think her having fun was funny. (that could be because it's Monday but then again I don't usually think that sort of video is funny.)

I thought that the mask made noise was funny and loved that she couldn't not laugh long enough to hear it really well. it reminded me of times when I got giggle fits with family or friends over something no one else would think is funny.

Neither me nor my husband found it funny. mildly amusing was as far as I could go with it.
I'm sick to death of it. It was produced by a local woman and EVERY newscast has included it. Now GMA had her on. Not funny.

my husband showed me the video yesterday. i kept waiting for "the punch line" and he told me that was basically it. Um. ok. whatever. he gets annoyed when I really get laughing but thought this lady was hysterical. to each his own. But now we own two masks. ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png)

luckyexwife-- I didn't really mean that this has anything to do with Star Wars specifically. (I was joking about that part.) I took the whole situation as it was a moment of "the giggles" that caught the best of her and that people are enjoying that. I don't begrudge that at all. (Though I do think this whole instant "celebrity" element is kinda over the top.)

Her joy at the beginning was infectious and made me smile, but her hysterical laughter once she put on the mask didn't do much for me either. HOWEVER, I saw her interviewed (the GMA interview posted here would not play for me) and she said that she has been getting some really amazing responses. People with severe depression and kids with autism who haven't laughed or shown much emotion in a long time, breaking out into laughter. That's a good thing and makes me glad that she shared her video.

I love that J u l e e tries to be controversial and even titles the thread controversial, and everyone is agreeable and nice with their responses. Only a super nice pea turned refupea could not be able to pull off a self proclaimed controversial thread! Julee, I think you are one of the nicest down to earth refupeas so I hope you take this with the respect and humor that was intended. I'll have to put forth a better effort next time! Thank you for such a nice compliment! That means a lot to me!

I don't think its supposed to be 'hilarious'. I think it broke the internet because it was genuine unguarded excitement and joy she was showing. Not to a view of a punchline or trying to break the internet. It was just her sharing that dumb excitement we feel over stuff at times. It made me giggle as it was like hanging with a friend who was excited to share something with you. So much of the internet has an motive or punchline and this was just her laughing away to hetself. Lost in a moment. This is what I thought too. I don't think her intention was to be funny at all, she was just happy and excited over something she already knew most people would think was silly. I'm kind of like that myself, I like what I like and I don't really care if other people think the things I enjoy are silly or stupid. They make me happy and that's all that matters. I think it's kind of cool that several companies have given her a bunch of fun stuff for putting herself out there. Now I just need to figure out a way to get people to send me free Lego sets, Marshmallow Peeps and scrapbooking supplies and I'm all set!

I thought her laughter was so infectious that I did laugh when I watched it. her facial expressions are hilarious. I showed it again to my husband and giggled. I think it's one of those things that you see once and move on. I bet she's so much fun to be around, just one of those people that probably attract so much positive attention. I'd love to see her as a regular on a talk show.

Her laugh is contagious. Her joy is from a very simple thing in laugh. There's no asking for attention just sharing something funny and bringing positive light into the world. That's what make the video so good.

The mask wasn't the funny part. It was her glee and uncontrolled laughter that got me laughing with her Exactly, her joy and laughter made me laugh - it had nothing to do with the mask. Her laughter was just so contagious!

I loved it....she was so very happy. I was laughing like I would after seeing a small baby get in a fit of giggles over something random....the something random isn't necessarily hilarious but just watching someone else laugh uncontrollably about it makes me laugh.
And this made me think of the day Anderson Cooper got the giggles on air-how funny that was to watch and we all laughed right along with him, or at least I did!

I didn't find the Chewbacca Mom video overly hilarious! My husband watched in fits of laughter. Obviously so did millions of other people. It was shared by friends in my facebook feed over a dozen times the day it broke the Internet. They all thought she was amazing and wanted to be her best friend. One of my friends said, "if you aren't laughing hysterically and wanting to hang out with this lady all day, you are dead inside!" (I dearly love the friend who posted that, and she'd be the one I would guess if I had to decide blindly who posted that.). That lady was definitely fun and I chuckled to myself while watching it, but I was over it by the time the video ended. What did you think of it? I've never seen the video linked until today and I didn't crack a smile. That woman is obnoxious.
