I'm afraid I'm going to need a lot more evidence before I change my mind. No offense to your husband, and all.

Thinks he's 'ok'? In what sense?

Why wasn't he 'ok' before this video? I've read things that make him seem a little strange but nothing that makes him seem like not an ok person.

what is the video? what previously held opinions did it change for your husband? your question is very vague and general, hard to answer without more specifics. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg)

I think that no one on this thread but you has any idea why Shia LeBeouf wasn't okay to begin with.
Nor why watching a video (with no commentary on what the video was about other than it was about LeBeouf) would change someone's previous negative opinion.
You may get more responses if you tell us why your husband didn't like him, and then what was in the video that caused him to change his mind.

dealsamongus as you now see, we don't hesitate to offer opinions. I think you're still "newish", if you want specific opinions, about specific subjects, follow above instructions. Keep posting, most of us have had odd moments as RefuPeas interpret what we write.

What a vague, odd OP.
Why mention a video without linking it?
Why say "is now ok"? Ok from what? What was he before?

What is the OP talking about? ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) And are we supposed to know what video she is magically talking about?

Shia LaBeouf was in the media a while back because he had a run of weird, erratic behavior, leading others to think he perhaps has substance abuse and/or mental health issues. I don't know how a Reddit video could demonstrate conclusively his state of mind. He is, after all, an actor.

The OP's post was pretty vague but I understand why she might have thought most people knew about Shia's behavior over the last few years or so. He's been behaving very erratically and is often showing up in the media for it--drunken behavior at a Walgreens, fights in bars, head-butting some guy in a London bar, wearing a paper bag over his head in public that says "I'm not famous", plagiarizing other's work, spending money on strange sky-writing messages, and I think he was kicked out of a theater for smoking and loudly talking and laughing through the show....just lots of stuff. It's been pretty concerning.
I'm not sure one video would then convince me all is well, but I certainly wish him the best. He's a talented actor.

I don't know anything about his personal life or behavior but he is a decent actor, IMO

Well, that explains it somewhat.....I know his name but do not follow celeb news/gossip/stories at all so had no idea what the story was

Yeah, I think those that do follow the gossip even somewhat (like I do) assume people know things when they don't. My dh wouldn't have a clue about any of the stuff I described--he just doesn't care about that stuff.
I agree though, he is a good actor.

I don't know much about him, but that video he did for Sia with that Dance Moms dancer in the birdcage was bizarre-o!

I do think he suffers from bi-polar mental illness. His behavior reminds me of my nephew, who also suffers. My nephew could talk to a dr. and make himself seem perfectly capable to the doctor, only to be home in an hour and start acting irrationally. Mental illness just sucks.

I think the media often blows things out of proportion and some days they are looking for a story. I believe he was raised quite differently than most children and then you throw in being a child actor and you have the perfect setting for becoming an adult who thinks and acts differently than mainstream America. We all have unusual relatives or friends. This person's life is just illuminated on television. I think in spite of all of it he is ok.

I had no idea, and I watch my share of news. It would be interesting to hear what the video was about.

Is this something similar to Joaquin Phoenix seemingly going off the deep end, and then it turned out to be an 'art project'?

It was on Reddit.. I have hubby looking for it so I can share. Hubby said it made him seem normal and cool.

I am going to try to be clearer in the future.
The reason I asked was a couple years ago Shia was getting a lot of flack in the media for being kinda a bad person. Always a good actor the of cancers antics began to effect opinions of him.
I have always been neutral figuring the on camera and off camera can be different. My hubby feels that doesn't matter, Shia is in public eye and Spyker be an example, so not a huge fan overall.
Then DH saw the video in referring to of Shia hooking up some guys that found him after he tweeted his GPS coordinates. In the video he is cool, calm and seems fun.. Totally changed DH opinion of him.
Got us to tamping about Shia and it got me wondering what you all thought since many of you not have had kids that he up watching him.
Hope that helps clear up my thoughts a little and if video is found I will link it.
Jennifer
