I'd like to get a pedometer for a relative, but she needs something simple. She doesn't have a smart phone so anything app based is out. I'd prefer a wrist style rather than a pocket or clip style because I hope if she sees it, she's be more motivated to move. I've seen some good reviews for some simple clip style pedometers, but can't find any simple wrist styles.

I bought my 8 year old grandson a Garmin Vivo Fit (approx $50) for Christmas.
He does not have a smart phone. He absolutely loves it! It works fine without an app. He recently connected it to an app on his iPad so he could track his data from day today. When it is not connected to an app the data for the previous days are no longer viewable. You just see your activity for one day,

Oh, I thought the Vivo Fit was in the $100 range so I ruled it out. I'll look at that one again.

I bought my mom the VivoFit also. She brings it to my house 2x a year to sync with my computer and get the clock fixed for daylight savings time. It's totally waterproof and the battery lasts a full year. (Actually, she's had it since last monther's day and hasn't changed the battery yet. Plus, she works in a greenhouse which is wet and dirty...and has had no issues.)
I ended up trading in my FitBit for a VivoFit 2.

Hmm.... heading to Amazon now to check on the Vivo Fit. (darn enablers on this site! ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/Q_m8lDOvc_3Le3r1GKdf.jpg) ) I hate Fitbit with a passion, and my Misfit popped out of its band and is lost forever.
