Holy cow! Those are some beautiful animals but that is way too close for comfort! Maybe this is one of those things where the person really didn't realize how dangerous it could have been until afterwards. I remember being maybe 9 out 10 and a seal was sitting on the edge of an enclosure at a marine world kind of place and my dad was encouraging me to put my arm around it for a photo and even though I didn't know any bad words then my thoughts retrospectively were wtf?! I didn't do it but I can't imagine why my dad who is a very intelligent person who has a healthy respect for animals would have said that, and I remember he was not joking because I honestly didn't understand him when he was saying put your arm out, so I asked him you to clarify and there's probably an awkward photo of me holding my arm out at some weird angle near but not in any way touching a seal.

That was both beautiful and scary to see. I've seen too many animal attack stories, I guess. I imagine if she can see out, that the cats can see in. And they were totally ignoring everything on the table too. For me, seeing the video is as close as I need to be. I can't imagine actually being inside the tent and not making some sort of noise, even if it was just my body shaking in fear.
One of my cats has a thing about licking water off plastic. Anything plastic. I use one of those plastic disposable shower cap things when I am not going to wash my hair. I have to be careful where I put it afterwards because if she can reach it, she will pull it down and lick all the water beads off it. I wouldn't mind that, but I don't want her accidentally swallowing a bit of it.

Freaky. Those were some thirsty ladies that I would not want to be that close to. It's one thing to go on safari and be in a jeep with a 500mm lens to get the pictures. it's another thing when they are right there with their mouths on your tent. *shudder*

My dd is watching is and all I hear is "aww" and "oooo they're so cute" and "awww they're thirsty". My reaction was ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/JvSt42CUoZ9LG952aAaF.jpg) and ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/pd7N3dneptLj3pbgz5Gd.jpg) and ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/JvSt42CUoZ9LG952aAaF.jpg) again.

I saw that and the first thing I thought is that I would be so glad they only wanted to quench their thirst and not their hunger.

I read that Botswana is going through a major drought, and that's why these lions were licking the tent. Poor things were that desperate for water.
That said, that's scary as shit.

Amazing! I'd have been thrilled to see them up close like that. It's one thing to go on safari and be in a jeep with a 500mm lens to get the pictures. it's another thing when they are right there with their mouths on your tent.Sometimes you are in the Land Cruiser and don't need a 500mm lens. I've got some awesome photos of a leopard walking no more than an arm's length from where I was sitting. Then she walked directly under the jump seat my DD was sitting in. Such incredible beauty.
