Good morning ladies!! It's Friday eve! I'm SO ready for the weekend. Today is another busy one. I need to get my workout in here in a few and then get showered. My BFF is coming over around 11 so that we can work on some soccer stuff. And since one of my dogs is losing copious amounts of fur currently, I have to vacuum the house again (just did it yesterday). HUGE tufts of white dog hair everywhere. Ugh, I hate this time of year. LOL I'm still chugging along. I did have some ice cream last night but I was under calories by a whole lot and it was hot. LOL DH's allergies have been awful...this morning he tells me he thinks it's strep, not his allergies, because he has white spots all over the back of his throat. Yet the ass won't go to do the doctor "too much work to do". We have an all weekend soccer tournament this weekend and he's the coach. And on Saturday it's supposed to be 94. I swear to all that's holy if he drops, I'm going to kill him. Stubborn damned men. /vent I hope you ladies have a wonderful day!! Keep up all the hard work - the payoff is worth it!!

Oh dear, Brandy, I hope your hubby will go to the doctor. That can be so dangerous if not treated plus not to mention everyone else being exposed. And sorry about the dog hair. My boys shed all year long. I always have white balls of fur all over the house after a couple of days. I don't like to vacuum EVERY day. Sometimes I just wet a papertowel and pick up a bunch of it. LOL! We are having crock pot beef stew tonight. Love that so I don't have to cook really. I am such a lazy cook. Don't care for it. Poor family! Tried a new snack yesterday--radishes dipped in hummus. Pretty good. May have it again today. I should have bought the spicy hummus though. Will do that next time. Enjoy the day everyone!

Patter - I LOVE radishes. Grabbed a whole bunch last week at the farmer's market and they are already gone! I am doing well this week. Workouts have been consistent and my diet has been great. Today I have to drive 2 hours each way for a 30 minute meeting for work. I have packed up some snacks to make sure I don't stop at a rest stop for junk food. I will have to make sure to take a long walk tonight since this is really going to mess with my step count!

fkawitchypea, do you eat radishes plain or with something? I also dip mine in salsa which I love! What else do you do with them?

Hey everybody!
Fell off the wagon a bit this week - especially yesterday. I was on the road all day driving to and from a photo shoot 2 hours away - fast food became lunch & dinner in the van while driving.
Haven't been logging on MFP either.
But I do need to change that. Back on the wagon today for sure. I've two days of a TON of work, so I won't be leaving the house. I know I can do this - but I always seem to get to this point/weight, and start sabotaging myself.
I also want to start walking. My knee is pretty much better for walking, although there is still some pain and stiffness, especially on stairs. So I'm giving it until after this weekend and then morning walks are going to become routine!!

I love radishes! I sprinkle them with salt and eat them plain. They're also great, thinly sliced, in a sandwich. When we were in France I had a sandwich that was on whole grain bread with thinly sliced hard boiled egg, thinly sliced radish, a tiny bit of mayo and some salt and pepper. It was delicious! I've been making them here at home since we got back.
I have to go finish cleaning out my classroom and checking out of school today, and then I'm done. Whole grain avocado toast and coffee for breakfast, and I'm taking a handful of almonds and some grape tomatoes for a snack. Hope to be home in time for lunch!

Good morning! Having a great week of eating so far. Getting in workouts each day, too. Happy to be back on track. One more week of school to go. I am very tired and looking forward to some down time.
Have a good day, everyone!

Good morning! BBM day 11 is done. I have been working on tightening up my nutrition. Got a digital food scale (the one I had wasn't digital) and am going to be weighing and measuring most foods, especially those that have a ton of calories. I have been just grabbing a few nuts here and there or a few bites of dry cereal as I get the kids breakfast, etc. I think that is probably adding up more than I accounted for. I need to get ready for work now but hope to check in again later.

Thank you all for answering my clothes hoarding question yesterday. I am going to go through my saved boxes in the attic and weed out everything that I did not feel amazing in. That should get it down significantly.
After that, I will feel better about my hoard and then be able to purge the rest in a few more months. Baby steps.
I have salsa chicken in the crockpot for an early dinner. DS has his third baseball game of the week tonight. After the game I would like to get in a nice 4 mile run. It should be cool by then.
Today I am going to do my BBM day 11 workout and then putz around the house and read.

I need to get ready for work now but hope to check in again later. I have to admit - one of my biggest challenges STILL is not picking at food while I'm prepping food. Since I KNOW this is a problem, I keep a huge pack of gum in the drawer where I do 90% of my food prep. If I feel the urge to pick, I pop a piece of gum. I can chew a single piece of gum FOREVER...so I can keep it in until I'm done prepping - even if that's 2-3 hours. It helps TREMENDOUSLY. And I've lived by my digital scale for years. I bought a cheapo one on Amazon for like $20 and that thing is awesome. I'm thinking about replacing it soon because one of the buttons has finally cracked the vinyl around the button. Either way, one of the most valuable tools I have in my kitchen.

I have had mine for 6+ years. LOVE it and use it daily.

Despite going to bed at 11:30 and then having the alarm ring at 4:45 and just wanted to sleep, sleep, sleep - I got W3D2 of the C25K done this morning. I didn't think I was going to make that last 3 min jog. LOL But I did...barely. I got the house work things done already (OMG the dog hair!!) and now I'm just relaxing a bit until she gets here. It's supposed to be a hot one again today. Upper 80s today and tomorrow and 94 on Saturday!! Thank the Lord my girls don't play until 4:30 on Sat afternoon but we're planning on going down around noon to watch the high school girls compete...which means we'll be out in the heat from noon until close to 6. Here's to sweating my butt off while doing nothing.

brandy327 how is your dd's mouth feeling today? She looks so cute in her new braces. Awww, thanks for asking. She was really sore this morning. And she was convinced that one of her back molars was loose. I haven't had braces (yet) but my BFF had them and said that she felt like ALL of hers were loose when the braces were first put on. So I can reassure dd tonight that her teeth aren't falling out. LOL She won't be eating too much for the next few days, I assume. She had a muffin this morning for breakfast, which she broke into tiny bite sized pieces. Lunch she took a bowl of mashed potatoes, some homemade applesauce and a pudding cup. Snack was a Nutrigrain bar. Tonight we have an awards dinner with my ds so I made sure to buy her her favorite frozen mac and cheese to have. And some chicken nuggets. She doesn't really care for eggs so that's out. I've been having a hard time coming up with more soft foods that she'll eat. Thanks again for asking.

Patter I always forget about radishes- may have to pick up some. I do love the spicy Sabra hummus. Before I went healthy, I always ate it with tortilla chips!
It's legs/glutes today- send good thoughts to me. Looks like it's going to be a killer. I caved last night and got into the frozen yogurt. I only had a spinach salad for dinner-no protein- so of course I was hungry. Why do we keep making the same mistakes when we know better??? That yogurt is going down the drain...

Good Morning
I just got back from watching my boss and her husband adopt their 3 children. The kids are 10,9,4 and it was such an awesome thing to see them finalize their adoption. I cried like a baby...the last time I was in that court room was 14 years ago when I adopted my 2 sons. Such a sweet moment to hear the judge say these kids you love so much are legally yours.
Now I'm spent and trying to get work done...
Tonight is my last run before my 5K Saturday. Going to take it slow and short. NO plans for lunch or dinner...that's bad cause that means I will probably eat crap. UGH! I really need to get better with this food prep.

I have a fun NSV to report- over the weekend we went to a fundraiser and got a goody bag with x-large t-shirts. These things never fit me (because breasts!) and as a result, my husband has a lot of duplicate shirts in his t-shirt wardrobe. But today I was getting dressed and I put on one of the freshly washed t-shirts and it fit-- comfortably! I was so pleased I left it on to walk the dogs... Sunny, hot day and me in a black t-shirt! I felt like I'd been to a sauna when we were done!

Oh girls, wish me luck. I just found out tonight's dinner is pasta with various sauces, breadsticks, Caesar salad, cookies and tiramisu. <------Need my mouth taped shut. I can count on one hand how many times I've had white pasta in the last 6 months.

brandy327 If I were you, I would just eat the salad and skip the pasta. I haven't had pasta or white potatoes since December, either. Then maybe eat 4 oz or so of deli chicken or turkey when you get home to get your protein. Now, I would probably have a bite of the tiramisu!

Hello I've had a good two days. I've been so busy with the last days of school and other activities, I've hardly had time to eat. Today I received many end of year student gifts and a lot were sweets. I'll pass them to my husband and put some in the freezer. I didn't open or eat a single yummy today and feel great about both the self discipline and feeling light.
My best success comes when I write down every single thing I eat. It's about the only thing that keeps me from mindlessly grazing as I prep and clean up from dinner.
I'm pretty well worn out from school but I plan to eat some protein this evening and then head out for a walk in my new walking shoes.
I appreciate hearing about each of your struggles and triumphs. I don't "know" any of you, but I feel like we are walking together on this journey.

brandy327 they had tiramisu at the fund raiser we went to last weekend and I was concerned as it is amongst my favorites. It was terrible! Not in the sense that "my tastes have changed and it was too sweet" because that would never happen to me-- seriously, it just didn't taste good. So it was easy to push away and not feel like I was missing out. So I hope they don't have an Italian grandma making your tiramisu at your dinner!!

brandy327 if the sauce is a hearty meat sauce I've been known to just take a big spoonful in a bowl, top it with spinach and Parmesan, and eat it just like that! needmysanity you are too cute. Rest day for me. Back to back heavy lifting days means I've been eating all the things. DD wanted to make these special cupcakes for her chorus director from scratch, so they're in the oven now, and I fully intend on having one when they are done. Followed immediately by packing up the rest to be given away!

Just came from the doctor and my a1c blood test was 6.4 so that went down...low carb is working! But my triglycerides are way high-700. So no meds needed for the diabetes but fish oil prescription.

I'm SO proud of myself!! I had salad, about 1/2 cup of steamed broccoli, they had whole wheat pasta so I had about 1/3 of a cup of that with some sauce, 2 small meatballs (like the frozen kind). I skipped the breadsticks (even though they were whole wheat ones). And I had 2 small bites of dh's tiramisu. And lemme just say, it was GOOD. I could've eaten a whole piece. But I was SO proud of myself that I made the healthy choices and stuck to small portions.
