@mytnice , I have not seen any acknowledgment from you yet that Trump did not say "some" Mexicans or "all" Mexicans, but he clearly was referring to "all" Mexicans who come to the U.S. Or do you only respond now to people when you think you can prove your "corrections" are actually "correct"? I actually did respond to you and I thought I covered that in that response. But, then again you very publicly made a statement of not responding to me anymore. Do you only respond to me now when you think you are actually "correct"? Good point. I actually only respond to you when you manage to blow up my brain so badly that I just can't help myself. Except for that one time I didn't even notice it was you I was responding to. You actually did not respond to my later post on this subject, but given what you've had to put up with from me, you're right, you have no real need to. I'll let my points stand. |

You left out the part where I said "I stand corrected." You also failed to mention my "off handed remark" statement was in response to your statement... But if you did, that might take some of the wind out YOUR "gotcha" moment, now wouldn't it.  Let's see. You just chastised folks because you feel they should be accurate if they are going to trash somebody. But yet you did the very same thing and was called on it, and yes you did say you stand corrected but shrugged it off by saying it was an off handed remark and you are ok with it. A couple of things if you are going to chastised others for their trash talking remarks about others. 1. Make sure your trash talking remarks are accurate. 2. When others point out the error of your ways and you acknowledged it by saying "I stand corrected" don't add "it was an off handed remark and I'm ok with it" because that implies you really don't care if your remarks are accurate or not. So to be clear here I don't think you should be the one to chastise others when you yourself do the same thing and it appears you don't care.So to be clear here, ditto. |

Bolded.........exactly! By adding the last sentence he actually does infer that all Mexicans who enter the US are" bringing drugs, they're bringing crime,they're rapists". He "assumes that some of them are good people".....note the word assumes...... meaning, suppose to be the case but he has no proof so therefore they all must be drug traffickers,criminals and rapists because as he so plainly points out.....he has no proof that they're not!And while you are deciphering what he actually means,maybe you can also explain to the rest of us who exactly are "They" as in "When Mexico sends it’s people, they’re not sending their best" He's going to be " fantastic" on the world stage trying to get his thoughts and opinions across to the rest of the world leaders if he doesn't learn to be far more coherent with his words! I disagree with the bolded in your post. You have assigned NEW meaning to the actual words he's said, instead of relying on his actual words. We'll agree about Donald Trump, but we'll have to agree to disagree about looking for an ulterior meaning in his words.  I haven't assigned new meaning to what he said at all Gia. The meaning of the word assume according to any dictionary is assume əˈsjuːm/Submit verb 1. suppose to be the case, without proof. So if he said " assume some of them are good" which he did no question about that, what he is really saying .....I suppose some of them are good but I have no proof that they are. In other words he really doesn't believe they are good because how could he?.......he needs to have proof. 'Some are good' has a different meaning to " assuming some are good". |
