Sitting here tonight having a discussion with Benjamin about literature. He so badly wants me to read To Kill a Mockingbird...I don't know how I made it through high school without reading it...but I will read it this summer. He has also assigned me to read The Color of Water and The Divine Comedy. I have assigned him to read The Red Tent and The Kite Runner. This should be an interesting summer.

Leave the Divine Comedy for last. It is three volumes. Inferno is the best.

It sounds like a memorable and special summer for the two of you.

You should assign him War and Peace to get even for The Divine Comedy. To Kill a Mockingbird is my all time favorite book. Ds also loved it when he read it last year.

That sounds so fun! Enjoy! I am 49 and just read To Kill a Mockingbird a few years ago!

He has also assigned me to read The Color of Water and The Divine ComedyJust read Dan Brown's "Inferno" instead, shorter, more entertaining and you'll get the cliff notes version of The Divine Comedy to boot...from that you'll be able to convincingly pretend that you've read it.
