I'm having a bit of a self-tanner tragedy at the moment.
I used a self tanner towelette that came in my Target Beauty Box last month and let's just say that I'm now an orange zebra. And I'm on my way to a work conference for the next 3 days.
I scrubbed for an hour this morning using a scrub and loofah. Didn't budge.
Tips?? Oh em gee.

Oh you poor thing. My DD who worked at Sun Tan City a few years ago says lemon and sugar to exfoliate followed by baby oil.
Some self tanners have walnut oil in them. Googling that resulted in suggestions of vinegar, bleach or Oxyclean.
Good luck!

I've read the options on how to remove sunless tanners....next you'll need to figure out how NOT to smell like salad dressing...LOL
Good luck....I've been afraid to try the sunless tanners for this very reason.

I had this same tragedy 2 weeks ago. I went outside and realized how much worse it looked in sunlight. I was going to home depot (and I'll add it was already about 80 degrees). I had to go back inside and put on long pants, a hat and sunglasses. I swear everyone was staring at me, I know they were. I saw one person do a double take. I looked as bad or worse than donald trump.
I heard after the fact that nail polish remover (with acetone) would help smooth it out. But then i figured I'm using self tanner to be healthier than laying in the sun…do I really want to slather myself with ACETONE and let that soak in my skin? Nah, I passed and wore yoga pants all week til it faded. It was bad. I literally had someone asked me what happened to my legs when I wore shorts to the grocery store.
I wish I knew the answer…good luck!

Baby oil helped my last time I was an Oompa Loompa. And toner takes it right off my face. That was lovely the time my body was orange and my face was not. Didn't realize it until pictures from the event showed up on line and there I sat looking like a head on orange traffic cone.

Good luck. I've only had luck with the fake bake sunless tanner. It looks so natural and not at all orange.

Cut a lemon in half and dip the wet side in sugar and start scrubbing. This happened to me when I was in 6th grade with cheap tanner...I woke up and I was like that tanner mom in Florida but orange. Of course I had no jeans to wear and my mom made me wear shorts. I was made fun of and I smelled like a armpit because it was the cheap crap! Teachers stayed their distance also lol! It was then I realized I'll never be that bronzed goddess I imagned.

This thread is useless without pictures! TRUST ME. You do NOT want to see what this looks like. Imagine the big yellow and red circus tent? Yeah, that's what it looks like. So, I've used exfoliating gloves, baby oil, lemon and sugar, a coconut scrub and vinegar. It won't budge. I mean literal streaks.

Yikes! I got that same Target Beauty box and my tanner packet is sitting in my drawer. I was seriously considering using it today. I think I will just go ahead and toss it. I'm sorry this is happening to you.

I'm curious what part(s) of your body you used the packet on. I haven't used mine yet but was thinking about it. I wonder if it's better suited to some areas than others.

Oh my! Sorry, I have no suggestions. I usually just do my legs, so I just live with streaks when they occur. What about adding tanner to the lighter areas to try to smooth it out?
Since we're on the subject, I have tried the new Jergen's body lotion with tanning in it, and it works great. I think it's called Natural Glow. The one I used is the lighter type, and it adds a nice color within a couple of hours, and is also light enough for daily use, giving an even color. Maybe you could try that over the lighter areas?

OMG! I used that same tan towel a couple of weeks ago and had the same result! I spent about a week in long pants or a maxi LOL! Fortunately it faded in a couple days.

I was just at Sally's yesterday, and they had an end cap with tanning lotions, and self tan remover.

Please don't use a magic eraser. Too abrasive for skin.

Sugar scrub! I buy mine at TJMaxx/Ross/Marshalls or Bath/Body Works.
You need to exfoliate your skin. It took 2 days/showers to lighten my mistake!
