Happy Friday ladies!!! It's been a VERY long 4 day week! I'm SO glad it's over and we're almost to the weekend! Today I'm heading out right after I drop the kids off at school and going to hit a couple of consignment shops to look for some shorts. I have 4 pairs of shorts and every single one of them are way too big. But I don't want to (and don't really have the money to) buy everything new when I hope to be another size down before end of summer. Then I'm meeting dh for lunch! The scale is FINALLY back below 200 - YAY!!! I hope I can keep that through weigh in on Monday!! I need to do some laundry and get some housework done after I pick up the kids from school this afternoon. Then I hope to relax a bit tonight. The weekend should be busy but not like last weekend. I plan on sleeping in tomorrow, then dh is taking ds to a fundraising car wash for his DC trip next year. Then we have to go grocery shopping. Sunday the girls have their last home soccer game. I hope you all have a fantastic Friday!!

YEAH brandy327! I know you are so excited to be down again. Congrats! I never wear shorts. Maybe I should try. I just have SO many spider veins that my legs are purple. I started getting them at age 12. And now at almost 40 years later, they are scary. We are headed to Biltmore House again today. DD#2 wanted to go before heading back to school on Sunday. She will be volunteering for the rest of the summer in a hospital ER. So even though I am exhausted, I want to take her. We have season passes so we go quite a bit. Sometimes we just run over for lunch. But going there means a bad eating day. Not good choices, and then tonight is Atlanta Bread Co for dinner. So, I guess this will be my bad day for the week. Hopefully it won't show too much on the scale. Well, enjoy the day everyone!

LOL It's warm out and I get overheated easily so I've always worn shorts. Even at my heaviest, I wore shorts. I do have some varicose veins that have started on one of my calves but again, not going to deter me from wearing something that's going to keep me cool.

I'm lacing up my walking shoes and headed out the door for a 2 mile walk. If I really want to do a brisk walk and get my heart rate up, I need to be walking about 6:30 a.m. while it's still cool. Love these Georgia summers! I ate out lunch yesterday and did fairly well with a flatbread sandwich. Today I'm also meeting a friend for lunch, but I know they have great salads where we're going. I can easily do well on lunches; I still have to watch my eating danger zone which is about 4-7 p.m. If I'm going to eat poorly (mostly mindless snacking) it happens then. On the subject of shorts...I wear them around the house and for exercising, but I wear mostly skirts all summer. I'm the classic pear: small waist, but chunky fanny and thighs. I just can't find any shorts that are comfortable. Patter, have a nice day at Biltmore. I was there last summer. So very beautiful and enjoyed a very delicious southern lunch that was decidedly not clean eating

I do wear shorts but I always make sure that they're at least longer than 5"...and prefer the bermuda type. They go to just above your knees. Perfect length, IMO!

I solved the not-great-looking-legs problem by wearing skirts in the summer. I actually find them to be cooler because air circulates underneath. lol I'm joining this thread if you'll have me. I totally fell off the wagon this past winter so I need to get my act together now. I guess I'm "officially" starting on Monday because I want to grocery shop and menu plan this weekend. Plus I want to get my starting weight which I'm only willing to do first thing in the morning. I know it's still early but I've already eaten breakfast and had two cups of coffee. I want my weight on an empty stomach. lol

Good morning ladies. I've been so busy with work the past few months, my health and fitness hasn't been optimum. Having said that, I'm doing a 1/2 marathon on Sunday. I haven't trained as hard as last year yet I'm pretty sure I'll go faster. I did part of it last year with an older friend and it held me back so much. I will be power walking most of it and I'm ok with that. I did a 17 km power walk last weekend and felt great.
My diet has been suffering as well. I finish work on June 15th until September 15th and I will be seriously working on my diet.

Welcome to our newbies! You will love it here! Congrats to brandy327 and @pescoepete on the losses! I am so proud of you! Today I am taking ds and his friend to the pool. I love that they are at the age to go off on their own without me hovering. However, it means a lot of sitting for me. I will read and nap. Lol! I love the pool we go to. The lifeguards are so good. They active guard by walking back and forth. There is also guards in chairs. Literally, there are guards every 10 feet. I also love that you can pack a cooler. That helps with the cost and the food choices. After that I need to make cookies and puppy chow for a baseball bake sale tomorrow. I will get a run and weight lifting session in this evening. Tomorrow is my nephew's graduation party in Chicago. My husband's family is all over the country is in town and many family pictures will be taken. He is going to Texas Christian University and my sister in law (his mom) bought me a 3/4 sleeve V-neck thin tee for Christmas that is purple (TCU colors are purple.. And white? But for sure purple). So I'm wearing that as it is super flattering. My SIL is five feet tall and barely 100 pounds and somehow always buys me the clothing I get the most compliments on! Lol. The shorts conversation is so timely for me-- I actually had a dream last night that I was somewhere wearing shorts. I was hoping that perhaps next year I'd get a pair but I may have to rethink my position. In addition to my flabby legs (which are getting better with all the miles I put on them), I have the ugliest tan lines!! About mid-calf from the capris that I wear to walk in. I wore a knee length skirt last week and felt funny all day long because the tan line is so obvious! I need a day in the sun or some sunless tanner! Even better with the tan lines is that my feet are ghost-white from three years of plantar fasciitis. I barely took my Brooks running shoes off during that time but my feet have improved so much so I can wear sandals out if I'm not doing a lot of walking. Perhaps I just need to GET OVER MYSELF!!

My chest workout yesterday was un-good. The gym was much more crowded in the afternoon than it is at 6 in the morning (go figure) and I was seriously waning strength-wise. I took breaks on a few sets as my left arm kept giving out but I 'muscled' through it.
No workout today - 14-year-old DS has been at camp for the past week and they drop him off back at school this evening. I got a couple of calls about him yesterday because he had gotten a wasp sting on Tuesday and his hand had just started to balloon. I gave the okay for Benadryl but apparently it wasn't a histamine reaction because the Benadryl did squat.

Good Morning! Today is my birthday - up until a month ago I honestly thought I was turning 49 but a co worker pointed it out to me that I'm only going to be 47. I have no idea why I have been aging myself 2 years. My family has been teasing me about it for weeks. We aren't celebrating it until Sunday because my oldest works tonight and Saturday night so they can't come over until Sunday. I'm sticking to my plan...not going off the rails just cause it's my birthday. I know my coworkers will be bringing me cookies - I think I will take them home for DH and DS. They will enjoy them. @dalai Mama - bummer your son had to come home early. How is he doing today? @karmady - good luck on the 1/2 Sunday! monklady123 - welcome to our little group. You will enjoy it here.

Patter I had a big patch of spider veins on the top of one of my thighs. It drove me nuts- so I had sclerotherapy. I did have to go a couple of times and she did use laser the last time. I'm amazed at the results! The worst part is wearing those support hose for 2 weeks.
I have a workout question. They are getting harder- more compound moves- like shoulder press with squat or reverse lunge with front raise. I can do them, but my middle name is not Grace by any means. Do you think it's better to do these or does it mainly save time? Or would doing the squats and lunges holding weight and then doing the presses and raises separately work just as well? And he has me doing 180lbs on leg press today- I may die- 100 is what I usually do on my own.

Quick check in! I went to have lunch with dh and a couple of friends today in a town more than an hour from the house. I left right after I dropped the girls off (which meant no workout early) and went to the consignment shop. I was specifically looking for size 14 shorts...and was really excited to find 3 pairs (American Eagle, J Crew and one other pair) for less than $20 for all 3. I do not know WHAT I was thinking with the one pair though...I saw that they were white with the eyelet covering over it...and I LOVE those. Didn't pay attention to the fact that one, they're a size 13, not 14. And 2, they're SHORT! Like so short, I would NEVER EVER consider wearing them out of the house. LOLOL I'm so glad that they were the cheapest pair at only $4. Complete brain fart there. And there's no fitting rooms to try them on so I was taking a gamble...but the other 2 pairs fit PERFECTLY!! I still had time to spare before lunch so there's an Old Navy right where dh works. I've been steering clear of Old Navy for the most part...their stuff doesn't fit me very well. Anyway, their clothes are cut on the larger side so I took a pair of shorts in a size 12, plus a size L skirt into the dressing room. OMG girls...not only did I get the 12s on but buttoned and zipped without an issue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I nearly died right there. Me, in a size 12. I don't care that they're PROBABLY more like a 14 but dayyyyummmm....a 12. I haven't worn a size 12 since 3rd or 4th grade. I didn't buy them even though they were half off and were super cute (navy blue patterned) but I'd just bought those other pairs and didn't want to go overboard. I cannot tell you how motivating that is for me. EVERY store (practically) sells size 12s...OMG I'm ALMOST there!!!!! Lunch was right at dh's work and they have a cafe service. SO many good choices...I was planning on doing salad. But one of their specials was bbq chicken breasts, potato wedges and mini ears of corn. So I had that instead. LOVE being able to go out and enjoy the company but eat the healthier stuff. I will say though...I'm REALLY craving fish & chips. I typically only have it once or twice a summer and there are only a couple of places that I'll get it. I'm REALLY looking forward to having some of that!! ETA: Oh and after dropping the girls off at practice, I decided that I NEEDED to work out. I didn't work out yesterday due to all the dr appt crap and just being mentally wrung out. So I did Week 4 Day 2 of the Couch 2 5K. Oh man...those 5 min runs are KILLER, especially in the afternoon when I'm already tired. But I burned more calories being tired and going slower than in the mornings when I'm fresh. LOL

LOL! alexa11, I have looked at doing sclerotherapy but I have SO many up and down both legs, that I just have no desire. I have just accepted purple as my color.

Hello all! Happy Friday! I am down a pound from last week, so I'll take it! I did well this week with food and being active. My step goal has been met every day, even though I have only gone to my kickboxing class twice. I am going to try to make it tomorrow morning to make my 3 day per week goal.
I am getting a haircut in the morning, which I always dread. I have very thin, fine hair and have been growing it out, hoping I could add some curl or something to make it look thicker. Alas, it is always in a tiny bun or ponytail. My photo was in our office newsletter this week as a part of a project team I am on and all I could see was my awful bun with the thinning hair on top. Time to cut it off again and try a short style. Ugh, I need a change!!

Omg Brandy, we're in the same place. I just went below 200 recently, lost 100 lbs (idk how much you lost but that was a huge goal of mine), and I just bought a pair of size 12 jeans at American Eagle. Such an exciting couple of weeks for me. To celebrate, I signed up for a half marathon. I don't care about my time, I just hope to finish.
I had a uterine biopsy so I'm really crampy today. It was just a formality for my ablation Monday so no cancer worries here thank goodness. I didn't work out today, and I'm sure I won't Monday either. I feel a little guilty, because I need to go for a run, and I probably would be fine if I'd just get up and go, but I'm going to wait for tomorrow. Other than this little hang up, I've been running, walking or hiking every day, and trying to hit the gym for some strength training a few times a week.

I have to brag on my people a little bit. My co-workers have really been supportive of my weight loss so instead of getting the normal box of bakery cookies (good but tons of calories) one of them made hand dipped chocolate strawberries with "lite" chocolate. They were so beautiful and really good.
Then DH got home from work and brought me a beautiful plant. He said he knew I didn't want goodies so he thought an Azela would be better.
I really did appreciate them being considerate of my WW journey.
Now my MIL....not so considerate. She made a snotty comment about how I "must have cake on my birthday"......
