Good morning ladies!! I feel human this morning - I slept for 13 hours!!! Oh I feel SOOOO good!! Lots to do today though so that's good!! I'm down another .5 lb this morning! I'm praying that the downward trend keeps it up for my weigh in on Monday!! I hope you girls have a fantastic weekend!! Stay strong and make those healthy choices!! You can do it!!

13 Hours! I'm sure your body needed it - hope that gives you the energy you need for the weekend.
I'm on my last day of forced rest - I'm hoping my hips are better tomorrow when I run. Not running for 3 days has me in a funk. I found a YouTube channel of yoga classes yesterday and did a beginner one. I really liked it and felt better afterward. I'm going to try to incorporated it into my non-run days. The channel is called "Do Yoga With Me".
We don't have anything scheduled today so I'm going to take advantage of that and spend a few hours cleaning out the pantry and some cabinets, get DS to clean out is school back pack and a few other organizing things.
It's going to be 107 today so it's defiantly an inside day!

needmysanity, 107? Oh dear. That sounds like TX. I can't do those temps anymore. Stay cool! brandy327, awesome on more weight loss. And glad you got the sleep you needed. I was up as usual at 5:30 am and out walking the dogs by 6:45 am. I have started the great house clean out. As time allows, I am going through drawers, cabinets, etc., and trying to get rid of a lot of stuff. I just need to be ruthless and do it. I get so tired of the stuff, and I am finally in the mood to go through some of it. I also want to do the basement. So much could go. Ideally, I would like to get all basement stuff in one room (the storage room) and then have the rest of the basement to finish off or something. May be a year or more but I hope to continue and get it done. With the kids getting older and eventually moving out, I think I am at that point to start doing this. Oh dear. Have a great day everyone!

Hello everyone! Today was my weigh-in day and I was done 1.6 to get me to 19.6 lbs down! Yay! I'm a little bummed I didn't get my 20lbs today, but I'll be there next week, so I'm celebrating losing my gain from last week and another loss. I'm averaging about 1 lb/week. Slow, but fairly steady. Sometimes I'm annoyed by it, but most of the time, I'm happy it's going down! I'm not getting the activity I need and I'm getting fairly annoyed to be honest. I slammed my foot Tuesday and have a HUGE bruise from my pinkie toe to my second toe all over the top of my foot so I can't put on any closed shoes. No sneakers. I've been in flipflops all week and I'm getting roughly 6,000 steps/day, but I'm wanting at least 10,000. I'm hoping I'm good to go next week. Never thought I'd say I want to get some activity in, but this is seriously bugging me! brandy327 Yay on the downward trend--hoping it sticks for you for your official weigh-in! Patter I am DYING to deep clean and declutter my house. It's driving me nuts. I managed to clean out my fridge today and actually get in there with dish soap/water and get it sparkling again. Three kids and a husband wreak havoc on it. When school's out, I'm going in like a whirling dervish and getting my house in order--if even for only 2 months of the year! needmysanity Hope your run goes well tomorrow and that you're less sore!

Hey ladies!
Forgot my FitBit at home today, but had a great day taking pictures at a local competition some of my friends were in. It was HOT (feels like temps around 105) so I didn't eat a ton today. Hydrated pretty decently though. The heat sucks all the energy out of you! Technically a rest day today. Tomorrow I'll do chores and open gym for some goat work. Goats are those movements or skills that you have a hard time with. Last summer I got rope climbs, box jumps (though I have to get back to where I was on those), and toes to bar. This summer my friends are determined to help me get upside down for handstand push-ups. Gravity and I are not friends, so it'll be interesting!

Congratulations on the weight losses ladies! Walked twice at work yesterday. Would have preferred to walk 3 or 4 times, but most of the walking crew work from home on Fridays. So it's hard to get the extra walks in. Today was a great mini work out day! We had a Samoyed dog meet up to scooter. It was hot so we couldn't do too much, but my boy went out twice. Once with an experienced musher/driver and once with me. It was my first time on the scooter but I didn't fall off! It is more work with an inexperienced dog, so that was good for me! Yes I worked up a sweat and could feel it in my arms and legs Tomorrow is a Samoyed meet up at the dog park on the beach. So I anticipate a lot of steps/walking as I try to keep my boy in sight. We had 10 dogs today and might/should have more tomorrow! We only had three boy dogs so the girls did a lot of flirting!

brandy327 Wow- you were exhausted! I feel like I could sleep that long, too. I have been working out 6 days a week- 3 with trainer and 3 on my own. I am tired- resting tomorrow for sure.

I am in Central California. I live in Ag country so flat and HOT! From now until August it's over 100 most days....miserable! The only thing good about where I live is I'm 90 minutes from Yosemite and 2 hours from the beach.

Today was such a busy day. I worked a bake sale all day at the ball diamonds. Thank the lord above someone brought fresh fruit to sell. I did have a few cookies, but I considered it lunch. Lol.
Question... Any suggestions for toning the knees? I have some ugliness going on above the knee.

TankTop I would say anything that works your quads- lunges or squats. Leg extensions are my favorite and have really tightened mine. Another one that worked quickly was step ups. Some of it is just skin and it won't go away!

Hey gals, DH and I are vacationing in Southern UT for the weekend. Today we went to Zion National Park. We did the Emerald a pools hike. The first half is pretty easy, a lot of the trail is smoothed out, but the second half is quite steep in areas and almost climbing rocks in some areas. It is a little over 1.5 miles up, and 350 feet in elevation change. I didn't think that sounded like much - until I did it. And then I realized... uh, that is like 35 stories. Over a mile and a half, I should have known. And then coming back down was a little scary too! Lots of drop offs. But I felt very accomplished when we were done. It took a little over two hours, plus we rested a bit at the top.
We went earlyish so it was between 85-95 most of the time we were hiking, but it got up to 105 a little later.
I did indulge in a pretty delicious meal after the hike, but I roughly tracked everything and only ate half the bun, half the fries, etc. I used one of those water backpacks to stay hydrated, which was an excellent tool! Overall came in right on track on food for the day, since the big late lunch kept me full and had a moderate dinner.
I'm on day 5 of 9 in Utah, and doing decent with staying on track while traveling. My schedule gets a little easier the next few days, so I should be able to stay on track. My goal is to lose about 8 lbs between now and 4th of July, which seems doable. As well as work out 30 of 45 days, which I am on track for. I am for sure counting the hike!!!

Good morning all. Got two bags of clothing cleaned out to donate. Felt great but still so much to do. I even found two pairs of hubby's jeans in my closet. What were they doing in there? I laughed as the waist came up to my boobs when I held them up to me. Hmm, don't think those were mine. Today I am taking DD#2 back to school for the rest of the summer. We have cried lots of tears. She no longer wants to go. She just wants to be home with the family for the summer. Me too!!!! She is my one that rarely cries so when tears spill down her face, I really lose it. I am having a hard time this morning. She is volunteering daily in a hospital ER for the summer so she has to go back. She needs her hospital hours. At least her boyfriend is only 45 minutes away so she will have someone nearby. He graduated last year with his computer science degree so he will be at work when she is at the hospital then they can hang out. I know he is taking a vacation day tomorrow so he can spend the afternoon with her. He has missed her. I am thankful he is such a great guy and really takes care of her. So because of this side trip, eating will be bad probably. I will take healthy snacks but I will be 6 hours on the road. Ick. My legs hate being in the car that much. Hope everyone has a great day!

Everyone is busy...must be summer. My parents are coming today to spend a couple days with us and do some house hunting in the area. I need to get out of this chair and clean the house!
I did about 3 hours of yard work yesterday. Raking, weeding, hauling bags of mulch. I happen to enjoy it and an extra benefit is the exercise I get.
I had a great eating day yesterday. I worked thru my eating danger zone, 3:00-6:00 p.m., by drinking some water and going outside when the urge to graze came over me. I can be good all day, but my brain has conditioned me to snack in the afternoons. I know I'm not hungry, it's just a bad habit. I may rationalize it by eating just one healthy snack, but it inevitably turns into more than that. I'm trying not to snack at all in the danger zone.

Today is a day of grad party hopping for us. I can't tell you how happy I am that I can pull things out of my closet and know I will feel confident wearing them. It is such a stress reliever for me.
I have the parties of two former students to attend and then 1 family friend. Can't wait to see my former kiddos all grown up!
I am going to go run this morning so I can get it out of the way and not be tempted to make excuses later.

We had a busy day yesterday but it was also relaxing. It was nice to have a day where soccer wasn't the focus. LOL I did ok with eating but ended up eating almost 1700 calories, which is about 500 more than normal. I don't do it often and honestly, it was mostly healthy foods, so I'm not too upset about it. I'll be more mindful today when I'm eating though. Tomorrow is weigh in and I hope to see a decent loss. This morning I'm doing food prep while dh works with ds on his science project that's due this week. WTH assigns a science project due in the last week of school? OMG I seriously could've throated punched this teacher. Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!!

So I'm back on Weight Watchers-again. I have been stupid busy this week and haven't had a chance to really look at the program yet but I'm ready to knock off this little weight creep. Damn sneaky, I tell you. You don't even notice the first 2 pounds, you may start getting suspicious with the next 2, and then bam- you're clothes don't feel good again. I did 5 1/2 miles this morning but the rest of the day will be sitting in a car so that's no fun. Maybe I'll squeeze in a w-a-l-k with the dog later (I think she heard that!) And littlefishI think I am a goat herder with how many goats I have. I have a bicep bump for the first time ever thanks to BodyPump but I have no hand strength for rope climbs. It is my goal to do ONE pull up this year.

Busy day today. Just finished with my food prep for the week. At 11, I need to go to my dd's ballet studio to help with an Open House. Afterwards, if the weather holds up, my one twin is playing in the All-Star game for his baseball league. I still need to make cupcakes for dd's class tomorrow and I just don't feel like it. They won't take too long, but I'm not in the mood. I stepped on the scale this morning and I'm down another 2.5 lbs! It has to be from the period bloat, but not only does that mean I'm down 20+ lbs, but I'm in the next weight decade! If I can hold on to this loss, I'll be pretty close to my 25lbs down. My goal is to be down about 25 when see my doctor at the end of the month. Hopefully I'll be down more than that, but I would love to be down at least 25 and show her that I've made a commitment to me and getting healthy.

LOL 3 days - brown & wild rice, chopped chicken/peas/carrots in gravy 2 days - chicken meatballs & marinara with quinoa pasta For me, all I did was prep some salad and make some chicken breasts. I typically do grilled meats and then a bunch of oven roasted veggies but I was lazy this week. LOL

So many great success stories already this weekend!
We had our family graduation party yesterday and it was ... Nothing like it was supposed to be. My husband's family came from all over the country for the party and a big family photo was planned. But as we were eating breakfast, we got the phone call that my husband's father was in Urgent Care, can't breath and they are taking him to the hospital. We rush to get dressed and drive an hour and a half to the hospital. My SIL has 150 people coming to her house and her youngest just graduated from high school, her dad is in the hospital. Emotions were at super high levels all the way around. FIL checked into a room -- pulmonary embolism and pneumonia. He is in extreme pain but acting like its no big deal-- tries to order a martini from the poor nurse who takes care of him (just as a joke). OMG. He is in good hands but they can't get the pain under control, he didn't sleep all last night and the pulmonary doc hasn't been in to see him yet. We came home because we had the dogs at home and my husband had golf league this morning.
I feel like I've been hit by a truck (emotionally). I am that annoying person who can't be happy if someone close to me is sick. The thought of my FIL laying in pain is very upsetting (although this is serious, we have absolutely every sign that he will recover completly). I was okay yesterday with eating, alcohol, etc. but I'm on the ledge today! My husband's parents live in Florida so the fact that this happened close by us is a minor miracle in itself. It would be worse to be even further away.
So many emotions!! And emotions are sooooo messy :-(
I am going to take to dogs for a walk, my husband should be home in a couple of hours and I am encouraging him to go back down to the hospital but he is supposed to be on a 7am flight to the east coast tomorrow (just for the day). I know he'll say no but in my family, you go to the hospital, even just for a short time. In my husband's family, you let sick people rest. Oye!!!

stine, it took me three years to get a pull-up, and I'm still working on strict ones! Progress is progress as long as you keep moving! missfrenchjessica, congratulations! That's awesome! fkawitchypea, I'm using up things in my fridge today--I have some steak that needs to be cooked up, a sweet potato on the counter that isn't going to be good much longer, and I need to cook up a new batch of hard boiled eggs. There's an apple/almond/cranberry coleslaw recipe I came across on Pinterest I might make too to use up some broccoli slaw I have in the fridge. I'll sub greek yogurt for the mayo. It's the last week of school and I'm just trying to survive! mrsp, I'm sorry to hear about your FIL. Hopefully he heals up quickly! Take as many of those walks as you need! Slow morning here. Laundry going, beds changed, and grocery lists made. I also went through all of DD's school stuff--pitched a ton and put the rest aside for when she gets back from GA. I did eat my weekly half of a pb&j and Amazon delivered my new hip circle--it's a special band designed to help activate your hips and glutes when doing movements like squats. I'll head to the gym in a bit. I like open gym time--it's less structured, low stress, and usually not too busy.

Today I hit the halfway mark on my Whole 30 -- yay-- have done it before but felt the need to try it again. I am not supposed to take measurements or weigh the whole time so my only gauge is the mirror and how my clothes fit. Previous W30 rounds I felt a greater change in the way my clothes fit than I am so far this time, which is discouraging. I have been taking barre classes about 4-5 days a week (after reforming my couch potato tendencies). Today I am taking a Hip Hop class (that they offer only once a month) and hoping my FitBit will correctly track it. I did it last month and it is pretty intense but fun. I have noticed in my regular barre classes because many of the moves aren't actual "steps" it doesn't seem to correctly register on my FitBit and I would like to know what I actually am burning in class.

I'm off the disabled list! After 3 days of forced rest I ran 3 miles this morning. I was out before 7am (its' going to be 102 today) and it felt great to run. I made sure I did a good stretch before and after and I can feel the difference in my hips.
DS has a haircut at noon and then the tonight we have my birthday dinner. We waited until today since DS had to work the last two nights.
My MIL showed up last night with big ol cupcakes. She is a food pusher and it ticks me off. She is constantly pushing fat food on me - I tell her no thanks but she harps on it all night long. I really don't know what else to do except tell her to stop coming over (oh...can I do that???)

I decided to make a big batch of turkey chili, a dozen hard boiled eggs and cut up a giant fruit salad. Mostly just using things up from my fridge. I figure a few days of chili and brown rice, a couple days of salads and I will pack 2 hard boiled eggs with a cup of fruit salad for breakfast.
