I have a lot of old vhs, 8mm and mini dv tapes that I want to have professionally converted into dvds. I have converted them in the past myself, but the quality is poor (the sound is off) and some of them do not play in the newest dvd players. It is time to bite the bullet and have them professionally done. I just cringe at the thought of mailing the tapes off though! And the cost! ugh! This is going to be expensive, I know, so I will most likely do them gradually. Does anyone have a place to recommend?

Are you in the Houston area? I have the names of a couple of local places with good reviews. Haven't tried them myself, but it is on my to-do list for this year. I can send you those names if you are interested.

I'm sending the information for three companies, so check your PM in a few minutes.
Hope that you are managing to stay dry and don't have any damage from all the flooding!

Imemories...I love them because you can edit out what you don't want from the tapes.

I used Costco to do it. They send it off to a company, they don't do it in-house, but I never had problems, and they would have coupons!

Had ours done at a camera shop. The charge was per VHS tape. I think it was about $20 each.
