Bernie has been going on and on that he is the better candidate to run against Trump because he is polling better than Hillary against Trump. I like a lot of Democrats feel the reason Sanders is polling better against Trump is because Hillary, Trump, and the Republican attack dogs are pretty much ignoring Sanders. So because there have been very few negative attacks against Sanders when polled folks have a positive view of him and therefore feel he has a better chance of defeating Trump. While Hillary has been attacked over and over again. I have felt once the Republicans took aim at Sanders they would have plenty ammunition to used because of his agenda. Let's get real here big tax increases and expanding the Federal Government is like waving a red flag at your card carrying Republican. Then I ran across this article written by Michelle Goldberg. Holy Cow! Bernie has an interesting past. Here is a partial list of fodder for Trump and the Republican attack dogs if Sanders should become the Democratic nominee. * Account for his relationship with the Trotskyist Socialist Workers Party. * In 1985 he took a trip to Nicaragua where he reportedly joined a Sandinista Rally where they were chanting "Here, there. Everywhere /The Yankee Will die." * Sanders youthful sex writings. - The Revolution Is Life Versus Death * Sanders was one of 14 Congressmen to vote against the law establishing the Amber Alert System and one of 15 to vote against an amendment criminalizing computer generated child pornography. * His opposition to public schools. * His praise for parents who believe that it's "better for their children not to go to school at all than for them to attend a normal type of establishment." * At one time he felt sexual repression causes cancer. Does he still feel that way today? * At one time he opposed the concept of private charity. Does he still feel that way today? * At one time supported the public takeover of the TV Industry. Again does he still free that way? * Then there is the land deal his wife put together when she was President of Burlington College. Words used were she was accused of trying to defraud the Catholic Church over the land. She was forced out of her job as President but netted a golden parachute of $200,000. And I read the college is now closing partly because of the land deal. (I heard one of the reasons Sanders hasn't released his tax returns was because that "golden parachute" is reflected in the returns he hasn't released and he doesn't want made public.) All the items on my list above are linked in the article. That is some list. Can you imagine what Trump and the Republican attack dogs can do with this list? Add to that their attacks on his agenda. I suspect once the Republicans get done with Bernie his electability numbers will drop like a rock. One term in the article could used against him was " sexual weirdo". And there are couple on the list they could label Sanders as someone who doesn't like America. Who knew.

Yes I'm for Hillary. But I'm also a realist and until Hillary is actually declared the nominee it could be Bernie.
And I didn't know any of that stuff about Bernie. In the land of attack ads this stuff is a gift to the Republicans. No wonder Trump likes Bernie.
Being labeled a "sexual weirdo" and as someone who doesn't like America does not play well in middle America. Rats.

Bernie is very vulnerable, frankly, when I found out he spent 17 years doing a lot of mooching off his friends (to be blunt) I wasn't very impressed. There are a lot of hard working people in this country, I don't think they will be very impressed with his work history, not to mention the rest of this. When he was confronted on Univision with the results of socialism in Brazil, Argentina, and Venezuela, he didn't say a word about Denmark or Sweden. (You know how he likes to distinguish his "brand" of socialism to U.S. audiences.) newsbusters.org/blogs/latino/edgard-portela/2016/05/26/bernie-hits-bump-univision-speechless-socialisms-failures
But you may have to live with Bernie as the Democratic candidate. Hillary is about to have a very bad month. A book written by a secret service agent in the Clinton Whitehouse is about to come out. It's called “Crisis of Character: A White House Secret Service Officer Discloses his Firsthand Experience with Hillary, Bill, and How They Operate.” pagesix.com/2016/06/05/tell-all-book-reveals-hillarys-erratic-uncontrollable-ways-in-the-white-house/ And then 2 days before the convention, the movie based on the book "Clinton Cash: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and Businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich" will be out. www.amazon.com/Clinton-Cash-Foreign-Governments-Businesses/dp/0062369288 On top of everything else going on with her.
Yes, I know Clinton tries to dismiss these things as of no consequence, but for someone going around talking about the temperament and character of her opponent, giving her husband a bad black eye and other behavior causing the Secret Service agents to actually have a meeting about how to protect Bill from his wife's physical assaults is necessarily going to take some of the wind out of her sails.
I know it's said often, but I'll say it again, the selection of presidential candidates this year just stinks.

Thanks for posting the Bernie stuff. The gop really have ignored him so who knows what else will be brought up.
As far as the new book out about the Clintons, well, I give it as much creedo as I do the National Enquirer. The release date is so convenient. The writer is just another Ed Klein.

However, I still think she will be the next president as awful as her past history has been. I know nothing is definite, so if I'm wrong, I'm wrong. If there's any truth to these 2 things coming out, it's too bad it didn't happen much sooner.

The book might be a steaming pile of crap, but the bad publicity is not something that her campaign will be too happy about. Of course the timing is convenient...dude has an axe to grind. He wants to discredit her anyway he can and also sell a ton of books in the process.

The Secret Service is just that....secret service. Retired agents or agents that leave don't write tell all books unless they have an agenda and very obviously that agenda is to make money. He's an embarrassment to the agency and frankly, with the problems that agency has had lately in their lapse of judgment and breakdown of their responsibilities, I have to say that extends to ex-agents.

I've always thought Bernie looks like the better candidate only because the GOP hasn't gone after him (yet).

Agents are privy to and witness personal moments and interactions between the people they are entrusted to protect. His 'I was there and overheard or witnessed' what cannot be verified is the stuff of supermarket tabloids. He not only sold his trust, but the trust of all of those who do have integrity within the Secret Service, for his personal gain. This book won't change any supporters or detractors minds, it's just a way for him to make a buck. ETA - just peeked at his personal Facebook page and his likes are full of right wing sites/people so I would say he's far from unbiased.

Writing a tell-all book about people who entrusted you with their private lives and personal secrets shows a complete lack of integrity, let alone the question of whether any of it is actually true or not. I wouldn't want to read personal secrets about the Clintons, the Bushes, or the Queen of England. I don't need to know any more about the author to know he is just despicable. I would also bet he's breaking Secret Service protocol and rules to publish this book. He probably signed an agreement not to give away personal information about any persons he protected during his time with the Service. Really, so completely unethical. It's just ugly.

Hopefully they do push him on the above because from what I've seen of Bernie so far, he will most likely answer and redirect some egg back on some faces.
ETA - if the best they can do is go back 20-30+ years to get dirt then they are stretching. Society and people and ideas and resources change. With Trump you can go back to the last 5 minutes and find something ridiculous

It goes beyond stink. But this is what happens when people finally realize that the government is using them and not helping them. They are desperate to be heard and what they want heard is that they don't want government deciding what is 'best' for them anymore. Taking more and more of their hard earned money to *even the playing field* when all it really does is bring the middle class closer to poverty, those in poverty more dependent on government and the elite 1% richer. What's happening now is people saying we don't want the likes of you - career politicians - in charge of us anymore. As scary as the idea of a Trump presidency is, it's the message that people want anything else other than what we've had that needs to be heard. Until that sinks in, it's only going to get uglier. L

Well, your girl wears the labels of "sexual predator enabler", alinsky radical, panderer, flip-flopper, anti-constitution, above the law, coat-tail riding, blatant hypocrite, whiter than white, flat out liar who left four men to die on her watch - yet here we are with her as the dem nominee. Crazy, lazy, America hating, math challenged, economic ignorant rabble rouser Bernie as a back up? Astonishing.
Democrats have no business throwing stones at the GOP. none.

I wonder about how people don't know about it or could not at least guess. He is a proclaimed socialist.
The system is rigged so people have to identify in one of 2 parties to have a chance at running on the national stage. Clearly at some point people who don't toe the line for those parties will have to join them to play.
