Good morning ladies! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!! Only 8 more days of having to get up early for school/soccer!! I can do it! The next week and a day are extremely busy with appointments but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!! Today I have to work and the girls have soccer practice. Other than that, today's actually pretty quiet. I plan on getting my workout done here in an hour or so. Official weigh in this morning put me at 198.4 - a 2.2 lb loss for the week! My dh's weigh in was 195, so I'm slowly approaching his weight...something I've never even been close to. My next mini goal is 190...I hope to be there by the end of the summer. It'll be a challenge since during the summers I tend to fall apart without having a good schedule. My total loss since the beginning of the year is 43.8 lbs. And with this loss, I'm LEGITIMATELY under 200 lbs!! I hope you girls have a wonderful day! You got this!!

Oh wow, such an exciting post, brandy327--school almost out, great loss, and approaching your hubby's weight. That is AWESOME! I know you are so excited. Congrats. Yesterday was a LONG day driving DD#2 back to school but it was good. We walked in the door at 6:15 p.m., and hubby had grilled chicken ready to eat. Yum. I lost 0.8 lbs. this past week. Excited about that. I have a new mini goal for the end of the month (to lose 5 lbs. by then). I have 4 weeks so hopefully that will be doable. Not sure what my day brings. I have been scared to open the calendar. LOL! I know we have cardiac rehab this afternoon, and she also has to go for x-rays. We have the order; just have to get her over to the imaging center. Lots of phone calls to make today too and laundry. Ick. Anyway, have a great day everyone!

Okay, today is my official start date for my get-back-into-shape campaign. I weighed myself yesterday and it was 200.2. ugh. But hopefully it shouldn't be too long to get back into the 100s. lol. Like maybe a day or so. haha My plan for this week is to start by cutting out most of the junk food I've been eating. Chips, those dratted Trader Joe's dark chocolate peanut butter cups (omg ), etc. I'm also going to get started back on exercising. Dd and I are going over to our local community center where we both have memberships. It's a county-run place so it's VERY inexpensive -- about $155.00/year for me, and $50/summer for dd as a full-time student -- so we have NO EXCUSE not to be there. Dd is having knee surgery next week so that's going to cut into her summer exercise, but it shouldn't be an excuse for me, at least not once she's off pain meds and I can leave her alone at home for a bit. I have a meeting tomorrow at my church and dd has a doctor's appointment at the exact same time. Since we only have two cars (dh has the other one at work) dd will drop me off early at church. But then I plan to walk home. I just googled and it's 1.2 miles which is much less than I thought! lol. Not sure why it seemed farther than that. Actually, if the weather isn't too humid I might walk there also, because 2.4 miles for the day isn't much really. Especially if I'm not doing it all at once. Other than that I have a bunch of phone calls to make, and I want to get our living room organized. We just got a new couch and chairs and we're rearranging in hopes of keeping the dog off of the sofa. The old one was under the window so she got on it to see outside. When the mailman arrived she'd jump up to attack him through the window (sigh) and her nails ripped up the back of the couch. It was so ancient that it didn't matter, I had a cover on it. But of course she can't do that with the brand new one! So we need to do some reconfiguring. It has to be done before dd has her surgery because there are several people coming to visit her, including our pastor, and I don't want them walking into a mess. lol. Yes, I know it doesn't really matter. But I care what it looks like! lol As for meals, I have two main things planned for dinners, which hopefully means leftovers for another two nights. My downfall is snacks. What do you all do for snacks? And after dinner.... ugh, I need to get over the habit of eating something after dinner. I don't need it, it's just a bad habit. Well, that's it for me. Onward to the 100s! lol

Whew - I just finished my workout. I'm officially halfway through the Couch 2 5K program!! I'm askeered over Week 5's run though...it has 3 5 min jogs. Week 4 only had 2. LOL But I guess if I can do it twice, I can do it a third time. This morning's runs were MUCH easier than last week. I didn't have to drop my speed at all.

By the time we got home I couldn't remember what I had ate, so I didn't log in MFP. Oh well, today is a new day. I am getting ready to do my BBM workout and then ds had basketball camp. Depending on the temp at that time I will either run outside during his session or walk inside on the track around the courts. Congrats on the loss brandy327. You are about to pass your dh! How exciting! If I could gift you anything, it would be a personal driver for the week or a twin who could take over with nobody knowing Patter! It amazes me how much you give to others. I think you rock!

And keep in mind, you can repeat a week before moving on to the next. I have gone back to 2 mile runs for a few weeks. I just wasn't enjoying the longer ones, felt I was stopping too often, and was experiencing some pain. I scaled it back and now I am loving it again. No pain! I am going to stick to 2 miles every other day for another week and then bump it up a little the following week until I am where I want to be.

Hey all!
Well I totally fell apart this weekend. There was bread (too much bread) chips, french fries, ice cream, wine & beer....it was my 22nd anniversary, and I caved on everything. Part of me wants to say "screw this, why can't I be happy with where I am and just enjoy my food" and the other part of me catches a glimpse in the mirror of the bod with no clothes on and wants to run for the hills at what I see.
I want to eat what I want, but I also don't want to be 250 lbs!
I know I need to get my ass in gear and get walking. It is raining here, so no walk today (and too many errands to run this morning) but I may try this afternoon if I can and the rain is gone. Maybe that will motivate me to get past this stupid slump I seem to be in.

I think you rock! Oh my goodness girl, you have brought tears to my eyes. That really touched me. Thank you! And sometimes I don't log my food when I can't count it. I chalk it up to a "rough" day and start a new tomorrow but the dessert bar sounds awesome anyway! Welcome monklady123. You can do this! As far as snacks, my favorite is a banana with 32g of natural peanut butter. I also love Laughing Cow cheese with carrots or radishes. Or hummus with those veggies. I also love to dip veggies in spicy salsa. Yum! Depends on my mood for the day but that's usually what I have. When I am in a rush, I grab a protein bar (Quest Peanut Butter or Think Thin Peanut Butter). Yes I have a peanut butter problem. And brandy327, awesome on the workout. I don't think I could ever do it. Congrats!

Great job brandy! I struggle to stay under my husbands weight also.
I was in maintenance and have fluctuated about 10 pounds in the last 6 months. I really want to keep those 10 pounds from being an issue. So I am getting super focused and committed this month. My workouts will stay about the same. I can't do too much or my appetite goes berserk.

And I want ALL the foods. LOL But then I look at a comparison photo and realize that as much as I LOVE all the foods, I love being a healthier weight even more. This morning my struggle was donuts. I had a good weigh in...I'm under 200 lbs...I did really well over the weekend. Why not have a donut or two? I haven't had donuts in 6 months. I had to run to the store to pick something up for the daycare I work for...had to pass right by a Dunkins. I REALLY wanted a couple of donuts. But I also know that summer is coming up and I flounder in a big way during the summer. I want this summer to be different...I want to stay on track all summer with a few splurges...one of the splurges will be on a trip to Maine. They have this phenomenal donut shop that we ALWAYS hit for breakfast one morning before heading to the beach. I'll wait until then to have my donuts. This morning, I came home and had some raspberries. I think spending much of my life 300-350 lbs, it's normal to worry about putting weight back on...for me, I try not to worry too much. But it's always hanging there in the back of my mind...will I always have to fight the food? My answer is probably...but I'm fairly certain I can win this fight for the rest of my life. But it's not going to be easy...food is EVERYWHERE in this culture. My girls are celebrating being done with elementary school next week...they want to go out to eat for dinner to celebrate. Soooo, that's what we're doing. I've already looked at the menu a few times. The place we're going has one of my favorite side dishes ever....potato lasagne. It's layers of thinly sliced potatoes with this delicious herbed cheese in between the layers...and butter. Oh lawt, the butter. It's served with steak tips. Now the steak tips, I can manage since they're grilled. But there isn't a single thing healthy about the side. I haven't yet decided if I'll get that or something healthier like a salad or salmon. *sigh* Oh the struggle is real. Anyway, I feel your pain. Hang in there though! It's really worth it!!!

You are well on your way to meeting your next goal and that's awesome. Why not have a donut or two? Story of my life! I try to justify it...telling myself "it's 'just' a donut, or it's 'just' some ice cream. But I know it adds up. I have to work on my discipline! I am going to stick to 2 miles every other day for another week and then bump it up a little the following week until I am where I want to be. Good plan. I need to get my miles back up. I haven't run in almost a week. Been too busy with swimming. Any recommendations on a natural peanut butter? I love PB, but still buy Jif. So ... I had a scare over the weekend. Friday, I was at my swim lesson. I had just completed my first length and had turned around to swim back. I got about a third of the way down, when I stopped for a second. When I stopped to talk to my instructor, I could feel a sharp, throbbing pain at the base of my skull - out of nowhere. It felt like a migraine, but it was so weird that one second, I was fine and the next, horrible pain. We stopped the lesson and I went home. The pain was so intense that DH took me to the ER. They gave me fluids, pain meds and Benadryl. After a CT scan, I was discharged. Still not sure what happened, but the phrase "exercise-induced migraine" was mentioned as a possible cause. On a positive note, I had another swim lesson Sunday morning. I was nervous about what was going to happen, but it went fine. This is my last week before my triathlon this coming Sunday. My parents drove down on Saturday to pick up my bicycle to take it to their house, so it will be there waiting for me. (I can't fit the bike and my dogs in my vehicle and the dogs have to make the trip up too.) I'll probably have a few more swims this week and then, ready or not, I'll have the tri. The training group I mentor is having their graduation race on Saturday, so I will run in that 5k as well. I told my DH next week will be weird - no more training group workouts. He said I'll just need to start working on training on my own for my half marathon :-O

I am trying to be really really good this week as we are taking a road trip at the end of the week. We are stopping in Des Moines for lunch at a place called Zombie Burger which has been recommended by several people. I am sure there is no clean eating at Zombie Burger. They do have fish and chips or a portabella mushroom "burger" or salads, but still. Then Friday we will be out shopping and sight seeing all day eating who knows where. Then Saturday is a family reunion and the food is fried chicken and hamburgers. Neither of which I eat. Fun fact about me: I think eating meat off a bone is absolutely disgusting and I don't like the taste of red meat. So I will be stopping at the grocery store on the way to the reunion to find something. Maybe a salad or something. Then lots and lots of driving. So I am trying to be good to minimize the damage this weekend is going to cause. B- vegan protein shake l- Thai quinoa salad- this stuff is amazing! Quinoa, cilantro, cashews, shredded cabbage and carrots, bell pepper and a peanut sauce dressing. And some leftover roasted asparagus from last nights dinner s- banana and a babybel cheese d- who knows, maybe salmon workout- my favorite kickboxing class tonight! I tried the Insanity Max workout on Beachbody on Demand on Saturday and my body is freaking sore. I have been working out regularly for over a year and I had to modify more than half the workout! I wore 4 in heels to work today which was probably not the smartest move considering how bad my legs hurt!

STBC, my favorite natural PB is Smucker's. Really yummy. I like the chunky too, and I buy it at Wal-mart mostly. They usually have it where other stores don't always carry it. And glad you are okay. I am sure that was very scary. Wow!

Good afternoon! We had baseball all weekend so I haven't been checking in much. Saturday was cold and rainy and a pretty crappy day to be out watching three games. Yesterday was beautiful but the boys didn't play their best so it was disappointing. They had a double header and after losing the first game in the last inning, they were not in a mood to play another. Saturday was also my son's birthday. Ate pretty well until we had cake and ice cream. I had a piece and a small amount of ice cream. Yesterday we ate pretty well, too. I am still up a few lbs but hope that goes away now that my period is winding down. I am still doing the BBM workouts and like them, although I wish I could see some changes. Some of my measurements are the same but others are up, and I haven't lost any weight. Working harder on nutrition this week, as usual.
My food prep and planning just got even harder. Today is the kids' last day at school so now I not only have to plan food for myself for lunch, but I have two at home that need food and one that needs to have a lunch packed. I am at a loss as to what to have on hand that is healthy and inexpensive. I need to make sure our dinners have lots of leftovers.

I guess it is too late for good morning. I like the staying under dh concept for weight. I am quite sure I am not there and I don't really want to know! LOL. He's tall and usually more slender. I am short and not slender. I'll never have that more narrow body type and I am more muscular in general I think. We did a weight loss challenge together once, each trying to lose 10 lbs. He sneezed and lost 2 pounds. I worked my ass off and never hit the 10 lb mark. We are now home from our 2 weeks of travels. I weighed myself again, like I did for the 24 hours we were home in the middle. It flickered between 2 numbers, so I am only 1 to 1.5 lbs more than I was when we left. Not as bad as I thought but it will stay take some work. Took my ballerina daughter to Orange Theory Fitness with me. She LOVED it! I knew she would. Sadly, she won't be home long enough for a membership of any sort. You need to do 2 months for the normal packages (like the one I do, 8 visits a month) and the other packages start at 10 visits (expires in 3 mo). She is only home for a little under 3 weeks and will be home for about 1 week in August, so it doesn't make sense. Which means we will have to pay $30 a session for her. Will still do it because if she goes to NYC, it's $20 for the train and then $18 for a single ballet class, so it's still cheaper than that. The upkeep of a ballerina is not cheap! The good news is that since she is such a healthy eater, she's going with dh to the supermarket and will stock us up with more fresh fruits and veggies. As we've been out of town for 2 weeks, we have NONE!

I'm glad that I got in a workout this morning and packed a good lunch...because I got a text on my way to work that the phones were down (and I'm the one who needs to make them work again). By 9:30am I was ready to go home. LOL But, I've done great on my eating and even fit in a quick walk at breaktime. Tomorrow night I have a 3.5 mile walk/run with a bunch of people from work. I really haven't trained for it at all (I ran .25 miles at the YMCA this weekend), but I'm going to try to push myself and do some running mixed with walking. Luckily, the weather is supposed to be cooler tomorrow with a chance of rain. I'll be okay with rain as long as it doesn't storm.

Well I joined a gym today. I worked out on the treadmill for only 25 minutes and I feel exhausted. I know it will get better, but damn am I out of shape! I have a question for my fellow short, chubby ladies. Where do you buy your workout clothes? I went to Target and I feel like all their options were either skin tight or really short shorts. I don't feel comfortable working out with everything exposed like that. Where do you shop for workout clothes?

Well I joined a gym today. I worked out on the treadmill for only 25 minutes and I feel exhausted. I know it will get better, but damn am I out of shape! I have a question for my fellow short, chubby ladies. Where do you buy your workout clothes? I went to Target and I feel like all their options were either skin tight or really short shorts. I don't feel comfortable working out with everything exposed like that. Where do you shop for workout clothes? Good job on joining the gym AND going!!! It took me a LONG time to work up to 20-30 mins on the treadmill so I feel you! Since I typically don't do many workouts outside of my house, I buy whatever I like. LOL I do have quite a few of the compression capris and leggings and I'll wear those out of the house with a long tshirt. I've had a little luck with Old Navy Activewear too. I'd REALLY like to buy some Lululemon but that stuff is crazy expensive. And I'd need to lose another 50 lbs.

It really was, even though I look really scared in the picture! It was harder then I thought it would be because I'm out of shape, so it's a good reason to get fit Where did you get that scooter? My friend has two so I was just borrowing. My breeder is thinking of selling me her scooter. She said she likes to have her boy pull her on the bike
