They're really making me question my Prime membership. What happened to 2 day shipping? And the $3.99 One-day option? These are my options right now

There's generally a cutoff each day where stuff won't ship until the next day, and it looks like you just missed it. So two days from tomorrow would be Thursday.

I ordered something that offered prime shipping, sold by and shipped from amazon, no mention of any delay in processing, and it showed 5 business days for 2 day shipping. I posted it on their fb page and a bunch of others were getting similar shipping times. I also wanted to watch ER via prime streaming with my son and it's not included in my prime membership. It's not like it's a new show or anything.
I'm beginning to wonder why I bother.

That looks like two-day shipping to me since you've missed the cut-off for today (as MergeLeft said).

So how did I miss the cutoff for 2 day shipping yet I can still get 1 day shipping? makes no sense to me, but this isn't the first time which is why I'm frustrated. I know they're focusing on 2hr shipping to some places, which is nice for those places but I wish they would remember those of us who don't live near the distribution centers.

I am VERY near a distribution center and those things still happen to me a lot too. It will be 3-4 days for a 2 day shipping. Usually no big deal, but sometimes it is really frustrating. Then other times it will be here overnight even though it was 2 day shipping. I have given up trying to figure it out.

I live 20 minutes from a hub and I've had a ton of problems with late deliveries in the last 6 weeks.

Ugh, i'm letting my prime expire, it is so not worth it anymore. About 2 weeks ago I ordered something through prime. Immediately got a confirmation that i'd get it in ONE WEEK. WTH a week to get it, but I needed it so I didn't bother complaining (because we all know it just means that once it ships it is expected in two days ) Anyhow it arrives broken, I email them explaining that I really needed it. What could they do? I get a response that they replace when I return the broken item with 1 day shipping AND here is your label accepting the return. I was pea livid by that time and told them that there was no way I was being any more inconvenienced by this matter and that they could get UPS to drop by my house to pick it up. Seriously, a week to get a broken item and maybe i'd like to take it to the UPS center to return.... Their customer service is lacking these days.

I was complaining about the same thing recently and my friend told me they now count the 2 days the day after you order. well that suck. I still love prime though.

I'm still getting two-day delivery for the most part. My problem is that the availability times are now increasing. So something is "prime" but it isn't available to ship for a week. That isn't prime to me and hate that they show up in prime listings.

Recently we placed an order that was supposed to be a package of 3. Well, it arrived w/only one item. Customer service greatly lacked! Yes, we were required to print off the shipping label & take to a UPS store/hub. Amazon made no offer, nor agreed to, a pick up at home.
Back in the day their customer service would have stated "keep the item, we'll send out a complete order". Not anymore. An apology was barely made, plus it cost them more to have the item returned. They did ask if we wished to re-order the exact same. Uh no, thanks since they couldn't guarantee the same issue wouldn't happen again.

I am paying more attention now to what is says before I hit the order button. ETA - I recently received 3 of an item that I ordered one of. They thanked me for letting them know and told me to keep them. It's something I could use, so that was great.

We've learned that it doesn't hurt to screen shot the shipping timeline info, because that has changed, on occasion, after the order was placed.

Any time I've received something that is broken, doesn't work or is defective in any way, I'm provided with a printable shipping label and UPS comes to my house to pick it up. As soon as UPS scans the pick-up, they have a replacement on the way. Now, granted that method generally takes 3 to 5 days, but I consider it pretty good customer service. Better than I've gotten anywhere else. I'm guessing that since you needed it much more immediate than that, this was the only option they could offer you. Not that I wouldn't have been irritated as heck about it, but sometimes things happen and the available choices aren't the best. On a related note, I placed my first order with Jet.com a few weeks ago. A very big, expensive b-day present for my granddaughter. I was promised 2-5 day delivery. It wasn't until the 6th day that I got notice that it was on a truck and being delivered in 3 days. By that time, I'd had to postpone my DGD's b-day with us for 2 weeks. Sad grandma. The day before it was to be delivered, I started work on an Elsa doll cake. Took me 2 days and weighed 9 lbs. Late on delivery day, I got a notice that the item had been damaged and was being SENT BACK. Long story made a little shorter, I have to wait 10 to 14 days for a refund to be processed and then I have to reorder it. But it won't be a simple re-order. Oh, no. Because the item has now tripled in price, I will have to spend some time with customer service to get them to honor the original price. Then wait another week and a half and HOPE to get it undamaged. The whole aggravating process results in our doing our DGD's birthday a month late. I will stick with Amazon because they would never do that to me. Sorry for the hi-jack vent. This has been a crab up my butt for a week. L

I have had similiar issues recently. For me it ios a big whatever oevrall but they shouldn't advertise something that they aren't delivering. Most recently I was ordering 2 cd's that were releasing in a couple of days, both were prime, shipping from Amazon. One said I had just under 4 hours to receive my item in 2 days but the other cd said it would not arrive until Tuesday of this week, unless I paid $6.99. WTH???I then went back within the same hour and my 2 day shipping had disappeared on the first cd. It wasn't worth the aggravation so I ordered it from Target online and picked up in the store - same price plus 5% off with my Redcard.

My 11 year old son is really into science projects. He goes through a lot of Elmers glue. Yesterday I found bottles of Elmers glue on Amazon Prime for $1.03 I ordered 20 bottles and ordered them each individually to take advantage of the $1 digital credit for choosing slower shipping. And I don't feel bad about it! Jen

I had spoken with the post office and our regular mailman assured me he remembered delivering it to my porch. It was on a day when I was gone for 2 hours, leaving 15 minutes before it was reported delivered. I have never had a theft and thought uh-oh. Now, lo and behold, the neighbor exactly one block over returns from vacation a week later and finds my item in his house where his house watchers placed it. So much for the mailman knowing he delivered it - he did, to the wrong address. I called Amazon to report this as it was the right thing to do and the woman at the call center was confused but finally told me to send it back. No biggie as I didn't pay for it but it makes me laugh at how different agents handle situations.

It used to be that Amazon sellers (those who used Amazon's fulfillment) had to ship their items direct to multiple warehouses. Now most shipments are sent to a central warehouse where they are re-distributed to other shipment centers. It seems that once the item reaches the central warehouse it is marked as being available but with a long wait time in order to allow time for re-routing. I don't really like it (as a buyer or a seller) but that's what's going on.

I have had them change it at will after I placed the order also... Since I pay a premium for my prime I don't let that go. I have had good results (credits issued to my account) going that route. I get that sometimes prime isn't as quick as you would expect depending on time of day it is placed and what warehouse it is shipped from, but bait and switch is an entirely different and unethical practice. I just hate that part of the "value" they place on prime is the digital content. Since I live in an area with a unreliable internet speeds, I can't usually stream video unless it is 4 am. So that is worthless to me. But with 3 kids 5 & under.... If I can't get it from Super Target, Costco, or Amazon, then it probably isn't a necessity. So still worth the $99 at this point.
