We're taking a trip to Guatemala and will be going into a cave that requires good water shoes, not the $5 ones from Walmart. I've never had good water shoes before. I have to buy all four of us a pair, and I'd like to get some that don't wear out after one season.
Any brands I should look into?

I would probably go with Keens, as I would like the toe protection in a (probably dark-ish) cave.

I'm not up on brands etc, but I have some from Land's End that I love. Full foot protection (like a sneaker), but very breathable. Don't slip on rocks/sand. Dry quickly. I've had them for a few years, and I don't wear them often. They've held up very well through a Mexican vacation, and many trips through tide pools etc around home. I've also thrown them in the wash to get rid of the ocean-y smell once.
The ones I had are a super bright teal blue, and therefore probably not the #1 choice in color - so they were cheaper. I think I got them for about $25.

Costco has some water sneakers right now. I think they are Nike.

If you just need the protection of a sole (and not the full shoe/toes), I like my tevas. We have them for the beach since the don't hold water and the sand rinses right out. Picked mine up on a sale for a reasonable price.

I have Teva water shoes. They look like regular sneakers but more open. They are very comfortable and have a nice, sturdy sole.

I've had a LandsEnd pair for many years. They are great.

Thanks everyone! Don't know why I didn't think of Land's End. I shop there often! Duh. And I'll also try Costco. If neither of those work, I'll go more expensive with Keen or Teva. Sorry I took so long to respond, but thank you!

I have some Merrell Bare Access shoes that I use for water shoes. They are so light and dry fast. We vacation in northern Minnesota every summer and the glacier made lakes have a lot of small pebbles/rocks. These shoes don't have any openings, but they have a mesh that drains the water out and keeps the rocks and sand out.
DH and DS both have Keen water shoes and love them. DD has some from Lands End that she likes. Good luck!

My mom loves her Lands End water sneakers. She wears them several times a week for water fitness classes at her gym.

I love my Keens because they have full on toe protection, which is great when in cenotes or caves because sharp edges can be hidden and get your toes, especially if you are swimming and can't really see where your feet are.

I have a pair of Sperry H2O Escapes that I love for kayaking. I can't find them on Sperry's website, but they are available at recreation shops like EMS and West Marine. They're expensive, but I know I paid under $50, so they definitely go on sale.
