anniefb I think that's what I was kind of thinking. I might order a kit and see how fast I can get through it. Might be fun just to order a kit kind of on an as-needed (or as-wanted lol) basis!

I ordered $72.50 from her sale and had a $20 shipping charge. She claims to refund extra, but she also admits to charging a packing fee, too. So what the rates actually are is anyone's guess. The deal I'm getting is enough to offset the shipping charge, but I expected to get at least a $2 refund. The fact that I got a shipping notice with no refund tells me that my concerns in the past about 'just go ahead and place' an order, 'I'll refund you overages' without a clear cut as to what the refund would be were warranted. It's probably a medium box coming my way which is half of what I paid in shipping. That's shady. In every other industry except scrapbooking, everything I order online is free shipping. Gap, amazon, zappos... I realize none of those companies are as "mom & pop" as any scrapbooking company, but, at some point, shipping is part of the game if you're not brick and mortar! Get it under control!

I am still on the hunt for a fantastic kit club! I keep eyeing Noel Mignon but man...$$$! Looks like you get a ginormous amount of yummies but that is one expensive sub! I just LOVE all the color! Has anyone ever subbed to Noel Mignon? Wow that is a packed kit. I did follow the link and saw a kit I would love but I can't justify it as it would take me forever to use it up and I already have to much but they look like awesome kits. I wish I could justify the April kit though as I really like most of the stuff in it.

Has anyone ever subbed to Noel Mignon? I just finished a 6 month sub. To me their kits alleviated the need to purchase add ons. I did not renew, but switched to Hip Kit as it seemed more my style. Overall no complaints, but if you become a subscriber it is a 6 month commitment and then you have to renew.

I take back a little of what I said earlier. I did just buy the June felicity jane kit which is almost all exclusives. I just loved the look of everything even though I have only a boy and I don't stamp. I did a one time purchase just to check it out since I gave up my scraptastic and freckled fawn subs I wanted to see which kit other then hip kit I'm going to stick to, if I get more then 1 per month. I think what sold me is the gorgeous papers. Most exclusive papers from other kits are not as gorgeous or professional looking

I did get several Noel kits in the past and I found I just never ended up using all of it before getting tired of it. I would love them, stalk them, and then not really use them. Also, they did not have a lot of design team layouts in the past to inspire me.

Usually a cool exclusive stamp can push me over the edge to order a kit full of exclusives if I also like the papers. I have so many embellishments that they don't normally factor in for my decision, though I can be motivated to buy a kit by an innovative or cool embellishment that I can't get anywhere else or make, but rarely.
Here's the thing about the stamps, though. I'm noticing more and more than they are just text/words. I can do this with fonts in Word. I also already have a lot of stamps like this. I don't need another stamp that says "GO" in a script font, unless it also has icons or patterns or some other art that I cannot easily make myself or that I don't already have something similar to. I'm getting pickier about my stamps as I'm noticing this more and more.

I've subbed in the past based on stamps but have come to similar conclusions and have actually decided I prefer a sub without stamps now. I have a pretty large collection of stamps and the ones that come with most subs just aren't that exciting any more - or they're really unusual and won't be usable in the longer term. Plus kit clubs seem to out quite a 'value' on a stamp which I don't see as necessarily there. SaveSave

That was what I was wondering scrappinheather. I think there's just too much product there and unless you're churning out multiple layouts a day, I could see white easily that you've had enough of a kit and most of it is still unused!

Has anyone ever subbed to Noel Mignon? I have not subbed (and I believe she only opens up subs once or twice a year) but do occasionally buy the kits. I LOVE that they are truly packed. full size embellishment packs, thickers, no exclusives, twenty sheets of paper and a few sheets of cardstock. they are spendy, yes, but with that much product coming in every month, you wouldn't need to do any other shopping. the cost is comparable to buying one kit +add on from most other kit clubs (non-subscriber price) but you get a ton more product. anyway just my 2 cents

nicolep let us know how you like it. If she still had May kits in stock I would have scooped it up just for the Fancy Free stuff that is impossible to find! But I'm seriously considering her now. I do spend that much on a kit+add on each month, and this looks like more product.

But nope, she went on to repeat my order back to me and state that she hopes I enjoyed the deeply discounted prices (I detected major 'tude). I'm sorry, but I don't care if you're giving it away, it's no excuse to price gouge and profit off of shipping (aren't their laws regarding that?! if not, there should be). Jesus, woman, I'm shopping from you and giving you money for something, don't act like you're doing me a favor when you dictated the pricing...shipping isn't a way for you to make up for it!

Hi Everyone... My name is Kimberly Hutchison and I own the Hip Kit Club. It was nice to see this thread, and read your thoughts regarding the number of exclusive products you have been seeing in our Kits and kit clubs in general. I truly appreciate your opinions and feedback and I can assure you that it isn't our intent to include mostly exclusives in our collections each month, and that isn't the direction that we are switching to. We love creating our Kits with a mix of products from various manufacturers, and we plan to do so starting with our August Kits. They will include new releases from your favorite brands and perhaps a couple of exclusive products to create that perfect combination that you have come to know and love. The situation with American Crafts has made it very difficult to include their products in our Kits, and I assume that many other kit clubs have had similar issues. They released several lines at CHA in January, which was awesome. Then they closed their warehouse to relocate it at the end of January, and they didn't begin shipping product again until mid- April. At which time they were shipping incomplete orders and had very little inventory. Many of the collections they chose not to reprint or restock. Their limited quantities were not sufficient to meet the requirements of many kit clubs which order cases of product, rather than 50 of each item. This is why you may have seen these items available at your local shops and online retailers. Since American Crafts owns so many brands - when they shut down operations, it affects the products that we are able to offer in our Kits. When life throws you lemons, you make lemonade. I am always very particular with the products that we include in our kits, and I won't ever use a product just because it is new if it doesn't fit with our design aesthetic. Over the past 6 months, we have included lots of goodies from many smaller manufacturers along with a mix of exclusively designed products to stay true to our brand. Fortunately we have resources to have various products manufactured... Puffy Alphabet Sticker, Puffy Shape Stickers and Ephemera that add that must have dimension, texture and detail to our Kits. One nice thing about our Puffy Alphabet is that they are thoughtfully designed with LOTS of alphas so that you won't run out of letters after one title - which is often the case with Thickers, which we all adore. Usually American Crafts has several mid season releases that give us options for our June & July collections. This year, they didn't do that. So, we got to work early to create amazing kits for June & July that include lots of exclusive items with fun fresh designs. Although our products for the past couple of month's haven't carried that big brand label, I promise you that the caliber, quality & design is comparable to what you see from those companies. We have even managed to keep that same value that you have come to expect in our kits - which was really important to us. I really appreciate the feedback that you have shared here. The thoughts that you have expressed are important to us, and will be taken to heart. Rest assured that you will definitely be in love with the brand spankin' new products from Amy Tangerine, Dear Lizzy, Crate Paper & Shimelle that you will see in our Kits starting with August. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post. I just wanted to give everyone a little extra information as to what has been happening in the industry and how it has affected all of us. Have a scrappy weekend! xo Kimberly

My problem (and it may be an unpopular opinion) with exclusives in kit clubs is that they rarely are comparable to the stuff I can buy from American Crafts. The designs just aren't as good, the quality isn't there. A lot of it is, in my opinion, put together by someone who can operate Photoshop rather than being a qualified or experienced graphic designer, capable of designing contemporary and competitive product. It's the only reason I remain subscribed to SC as it is unfortunately the only kit club out there who offers decently designed exclusive product. Felicity Jane is great but I do find it quite samey, and it's ridiculously expensive to ship internationally.
I'm not interested in committing my money month after month to so-and-so's journalling cards they have designed in their spare time. These kits aren't cheap and I don't want to commit to something that I can't guarantee the quality and designs of.
ETA: This is in reference to exclusive papers/journalling cards/stickers as opposed to embellishments.

I got my first hip kit last week and for the first time ever I killed a kit, well the papers anyways there is so much in it. The exclusives are fantastic with hipkit
The exclusive alphas are fab The exclusive puffy stickers are adorable The exclusive papers are stunning And I'm not an ephemera person but it's beautiful
I'm so happy with my hipkit and saw no difference in quality between the exclusives and the brand products
