Good morning ladies!! I hope you've all had a great start to your week!! I'm dragging this morning...and I had to be ready to go much earlier today since my dd has an ortho appt at 8:15 this morning. Typically I throw on my workout clothes as soon as I get up, but I don't have to shower and get ready for my day until after my workout at 8. Today I was in the shower by 5:20. *yawn* I had a not so great eating day yesterday. I felt hungry ALL day and made some bad food choices. But I've moved on and already made a good breakfast choice - oatmeal! I typically don't have a morning snack but then again I usually don't eat breakfast until 9am. Today I ate before 6am. I'm going to pack some nuts and a banana while I'm out on the road. I'm hoping to get my workout in after I pick up the kids from school. After the ortho appt, I have to run to a different town 40 mins away to return a bathing suit that my dd bought over the weekend. If I have enough time before school pick up then I'll workout then...but more than likely, it'll be after school. I hope you all have a fantastic day!!

Oh busy mornings like that are rough, brandy327. Praying the rest of the say slows down a bit. And I always drink my chocolate Green's first thing in the morning so I can eat breakfast later. When I have to eat so early, it really throws me off. This works great for me. DD and I are getting our hair done this afternoon. Cut and highlight for me. I have to get it cut every 5 weeks because I keep it so short. Other than that, it's a restful day except housework. Yesterday was WILD. I am ready for just a "housework" day. Not sure what dinner will be. Better figure that out. I suppose I will have to stop at the grocery to get something. I seem to be all out of ideas lately. Need to flip through my cookbooks. Well, enjoy the day everyone!

Good morning. I've already been out and done my 2.5 mile walk. I walk as briskly as I can to get my heart rate up. Since I spent yesterday house hunting and helping my parents, I didn't get in a real walk. By the way, they saw the house they wanted, put in an offer, the offer was accepted with no counter. It all happened within about 8 hours! The house is in a subdivision they've had their eye on for a long time and homes in that subdivision usually sell within a week or less. My poor DH is now absorbing the idea that his in-laws will be 6 minutes away instead of 6 hours away.
My parents left early this morning to go back home to begin packing and getting ready for a garage sale. I'll have plenty to do today with cleaning up after a weekend of company and restocking the fridge.
I've had 4 good eating days in a row and most of you can appreciate what a big deal that is! Hope to continue the streak!

I took the border collie for a walk last night with one of my running friends and her dogs. Later, I decided to go for a run - it's been over a week since I went out for a training run for me. It was cooler out and I had some good tunes (thank you, Spotify) so I just started moving. Unfortunately, it was also starting to get dark out. I'm fine running in the dark, provided I'm with someone, and I wasn't - so I had to cut the run short. Sped up to see if I could get a good sprint in and I did! Earned a new PR on my one mile time, beating my past PR by three seconds. Felt really good on this run.
Getting really nervous and excited about the triathlon. Race info came in last night - I am wave 13. That's actually a lucky number for me, so I'm considering it a good sign.
Tonight I run as a mentor with my beginning 5K group. I'll swim laps afterwards. Bought my triathlon top so I will wear my "tri suit" to swim for the first time. (I've already had the bottoms for a while.) I don't have a wetsuit and it will be very hot on Sunday, so I'll be OK without it.

ETA: Forgot about my NSV! I was organizing my closet and found a couple of pairs of pants that I haven't worn in a while because they didn't fit, and now they fit again! (However, a couple pairs of my favorite capris had to go because they are so loose I can put them on without unbuttoning them first. I'm happy they are too big, but I liked them! LOL)
Also ... I qualified for a trip to Hawaii for a work designation I earned and I just got my flight booked. I studied for almost two years to earn this. It's getting real!
I've had 4 good eating days in a row and most of you can appreciate what a big deal that is! That's awesome - keep it up! DD and I are getting our hair done this afternoon. Cut and highlight for me. This past weekend I did an Insanity Max workout on Beachbody on Demand. My legs were still so sore from that but I did go to my kickboxing class last night. We do a whole song worth of squats and lunges and I barely made it back up! So sore still! But I burned 330 calories so I will take it. Today I will do another Beachbody on Demand workout. Maybe a P90X. Another Insanity workout may kill me. B- vegan protein shake with 1/2 cup blueberries l- thai quinoa salad, same as yesterday, plus some fresh veggies (a mix of bell peppers, cucumber and broccoli) s- babybel and some brown rice crisps d- I didn't make the salmon last night. DH is grilling chicken and the salmon tonight. I will make whipped cauliflower and sweet potato fries.

Today is another busy day for me. I am my son's basketball camp right now. I have been walking during it. 5500 steps. Not too shabby. We are leaving here for lunch out with the hubby downtown and then eye doctor appointments. I will have to do my BBM workout after dinner.
My goal for today is to find something healthy to eat for lunch. We are going to a city market, so there will be lots of variety.

It's just because I knew I couldn't eat. On the way to work I stopped at Dunkin Donuts to get an iced coffee to mix with my shake for breakfast...and I DIDN'T GET A DONUT. That's a huge NSV for me. Tonight is my 5K and the weather looks like it's going to be perfect! It's a little cooler than it's been and the rain that has been in the forcast should clear by this afternoon. Good job on the Insanity Max. I'm doing P90X3 right now. I've done a bunch of programs...but Insanity scares me. LOL I'm loving Beachbody on Demand. I'm not even sure what possessed me to even try! It was the workout of the day on Saturday and I was like what the heck, I should be able to do it. Wrong!! I only made it about 10 minutes and had to modify the rest. But I suppose if I do a couple a week I will eventually be able to do it all! Good luck in your 5K!!

Quick check in! It took a bit longer at the orthodontist this morning than I'd told my girls and one of them got really snotty. I get they're in the last days of school and doing a bunch of fun stuff but I was less than happy with her attitude. Typically all it takes when we're out somewhere is "the look" that she's pushed too far. Today I actually had to say words. So there will be punishment doled out once she gets home from school. Haven't decided quite yet what it will be but I'm thinking an early bedtime will be perfect. Once I dropped them off I went to JC Penny where they let me return the bathing suit without any issues at all! DD bought it on Saturday in her size but when she got home and put it on, the top showed a bit of skin and she was not happy about that. I'm sure I'll be thankful in a few years that both of my girls are so modest but damn. LOL While both of my girls are well beyond the Justice stuff, both of them still prefer their bathing suits...so I stopped in there willing to fund the difference in the suit she bought at JCP. But they were on sale for $20!! So I picked one up I think she'll really like. She was REALLY disappointed when she didn't like the way the suit fit...they have 2 field trips this week that require bathing suits and she really wanted to wear a new one. When I was growing up my parents would've NEVER driven the hour and a half round trip it took me today to return/exchange it for me. It would've been returned a week or two later when they were heading in that direction. I remember that type of disappointed as a kid...and while I definitely don't jump at their every whim, I'm happy to do something so easy for them. ESPECIALLY since she very nicely asked me if I would have time to return it. She knows this week is really busy and she even made sure to say "it's ok if you can't get there this week" even though I knew it damned near killed her to throw that out there. Anyway, I got that taken care of then as I was walking passed the VS/Pink store...I decided to go in. I've never even contemplated Pink before because the largest size they carry is a L. Today, I decided to go in...and they had panties reduced to $3.99. I bought 1 pair...not convinced that they'd even fit up over my legs. OMG girls, they FIT!!! Now because of the excess skin in my belly, it's probably not pretty but they fit!!!!!!!!!!! I seriously did a happy dance!! I wish I had a lot of money to go shopping with because I'd LOVE to get more stuff now that I can shop just about anywhere!!!!!!!! I was so excited that after my bad eating day yesterday, I changed into my workout gear as soon as I got home and did Week 5 Day 1 of the C25K. 3 5-min runs y'all...and I freaking did them!!!!!!! I was pouring sweat when I was done (and I hate to sweat) but I made it through...without having to lower my speed too!! Today is a good day!!!!!

Great job ladies! I love to see the NSV's! I did a Body Pump class last night and that should be my NSV because generally if I don't exercise first thing in the am, it just doesn't happen. This morning I got in 4 miles but when I came home I kicked a weight with my bare foot (not on purpose) and the little sucker hurts! We'll see how it feels tomorrow.

I'm going on a month with no weight loss. It's getting really annoying. I'm staying within my WW points, exercising 5 days a week, doing everything right and I'm getting nothing. I know they say the closer you are to your goal (which is 7 more pounds) the harder it is... but this is bordering on crazy.
On a positive note...can I tell you how much better my hips feel now that I'm stretching every night and doing yoga. I wish I would have started doing this months ago!

Hello everyone. I've been keeping up with my BBM workouts and have eaten well so far this week. Today I am so hungry and tired. I think I am coming down with a cold. I'm also stressed about the garage sale that I am supposed to be having Thursday and Friday but haven't had time to organize. I am planning to really get going on that tonight (although I work until 8) so I hope I can get some energy here shortly.

I was wondering if you had any experience with pain when you started? I've tried the Couch 2 5K program a couple of times but have ALWAYS had pain in the muscles/tendons that go across the top of the foot up into my lower leg. I could never do more than a min or two before it hurt so much that I had to stop...shins would hurt a bit too. This time, I was pleasantly surprised that I haven't had ANY pain (other than my lungs feeling like they're going to explode ) in my ankles or feet or shins. I DO have a hip that was starting to feel a little sore towards the end of my last run but not so bad that I couldn't continue. I DO have new shoes (well they were new a few months ago) so I'm not sure if that's the reason nothing is hurting...or if it's the loss of 45 lbs.

OMG! Finally! We lost power sometime yesterday and our cable, internet, and home phone weren't working at all until about 30 minutes ago. I was going through withdrawl not being able to check in with my health & fitness peeps! Whew! So glad to be back! Yesterday evening--no bueno. At PB out the jar w/ chocolate chips. Awe.some. Sigh...I didn't have tons, but more than I should have. That was pretty much dinner. Today has been good. Ate all my food, but forgot somehow part of my afternoon snack at home--my protein piece. UGH! My Tuesdays are long because I have to get my dd and one twin home after school and then go in the opposite direction to my other twins speech therapy appointment. Oh, did I mention school is smack dab in the middle of both destinations so I'm driving back toward school after dropping the kids off at home. Then I have to get the twin to batting cages, run home in crazy frickin' traffic and get dd to ballet... By the time I got through traffic tonight, not only had I take the wrong exit to get ds to batting cages which added a good 15 minutes to my drive, I had 15 minutes to get dd to ballet. Missing my protein really messed up my blood sugar. I was sitting at a light going back home and felt REALLY light-headed and queasy. Got home and made myself a quick shake with a prepackaged shake, some chocolate PB2 powder, frozen banana, and some mixed berries and I seem to be finally feeling more steady. Thank goodness dh was back in time with the boys that he could go pick up dd from ballet. I'm wiped out. On a sad note, I've lost the electronic part of my fitbit! I feel so lost without it. I've looked everywhere and I can't find it. I think I will order a new one if I don't find it by the weekend. brandy327 OMG!What an awesome NSV! Yay! ETA: WW peas...the protein drink I found is only 2 SP for the container (11 oz). It's called Premier Protein and has 30 grams of protein/shake and it keeps me really full. It's great to have as a quick snack and low in points.

Don't laugh but I started a low carb diet. I just cut out all pasta, sugar, rice, potato, cake, and anything else that has refined sugar in it.
Today I made the Elannah Family Macaroni Casserole Surprise. The surprise part is there is no pasta in it. Just meat, tomato, and cheese. I am eating so many vegetables I am turning green. I am also eating soy on this diet as I love my tofu and want to continue to eat it. I am still hungry, though. I might eat some more tofu with sauce. I know I will be hungrier in a couple of hours and I want to get the carb cravings out of my system. An MD friend of mine eats like this (but he and his family) eat more meat than I do and they love eating this way. I am trying it.
Onto the good news. I WENT TO THE NEW GYM. I learned they have nice treadmills and they are better than the ones at the old gym. I walked on the treadmill until I was tired and then came home. My speed and incline were great, too. I realize this is so pathetic, but parking was so much easier and I didn't have to walk through a building to get to this gym. It was 10 feet from the car. I didn't have to take the stairs up there and it was nicer. I also have some blooming trees for a view. I didn't say that my new membership has cost me less than 1/2 what I was paying before. It was never an issue as I thought I was getting the greatest there is. There are less treadmills at the new gym. There are less weights machines. I went around 4 pm and did not wait for a machine. There were 5 in total and all 5 were free. They also don't have 50 weights machines (the other gym had at least that many if not more... it was a big facility). Oh right, I have done weights 2x in the last 3 years. That probably will not make a huge difference in my life.
Still hungry. Thus, eat more food!

So I'm posting on this day's thread at the very end of the day. lol. I'll try to do better tomorrow. I'm heading for bed now, but thought I'd try to start a habit of posting here every day. Anyway, I did nothing today. ugh. I was supposed to go to church this morning for a meeting, dd was going to drop me off on the way to her appointment, then I was going to walk home. But the meeting was pushed to Thursday. Then I thought well I could just go for a walk (more than the quick walk I gave the dog) since I was home without a car anyway. But then it started to rain. So I didn't. Dd came home and said she'd almost ended up in DC (she was heading to the Pentagon area) -- she's a newish driver and not used to driving around here since she learned at college and has only driven there. I reminded her that she's been on the route between our house and the Pentagon area a billion times but she said "I know Mom, but I wasn't paying attention!" lol. So we decided to go to Costco so I could see exactly what she'd almost done to end up in DC because I couldn't picture it. -- And of course while we were at Costco I tasted all the free samples. ugh. Then we came home and dinner involved pesto and cheese. So today was a bust all round. Tomorrow is another day!

I wish I had seen your post sooner! When I lost my Fitbit One, I contacted Fitbit and they sent me a replacement at no cost. That's awesome, brandy! Did you buy new shoes when you started running? I was wondering if you had any experience with pain when you started? I highly recommend getting fitted for running shoes at a local running store (not any of the big-box sporting goods places.) If you have a Fleet Feet in your area, check them out. They will examine your gait, talk to you about your running goals and current pain/issues you are experiencing. Everyone is a little different and having the right shoe for you is well worth the price. FF has a generous return policy if the shoes don't work out for running. They sometimes have "last years" models available at a discount. When I started, I had a lot of calf pain, but some of that was my inexperience with running, the rest I credit to having well-fitting shoes and inserts. ( Superfeet) It went away fairly quickly. Shin splints are also caused by poor running form.
