Okay, we look forward to this show every single year but I must say we are SO disappointed this year. It's just not near as fun with these tiny kids. Anyone understand why they are doing this, or are you disappointed like we are?

It's usually one of my favorite summer shows. I really look forward to it. I have no desire to watch this year. I'm so disappointed they chose to go this route. I have a feeling this will be the show's final season.

I will pass on this season and I hope that they bring back the older dancers for next season without canceling the show.

I didn't watch last season even though I love this show because hip hop was my least favorite genre and it was a bigger focus with the street vs stage or whatever it was called. I am Watching so far this season to see how it goes but my dd is a dancer so kid dancing does interest me - don't know if it will for this show and all season.

I'm passing, too. I don't like any shows that are a junior version.

I have been watching since season one so I am giving it a chance. There were some amazing little dancers last week. Although I will say last seasons stage vs street lost me halfway through

I love it...especially the stories they share. Some of those kids come from really hard times and have so much talent!

We watched the first episode and felt the same way. Not sure if we'll continue. Normally we are huge fans.

One of my favorite summer fun shows. But I haven't even watched the first episode, not sure if I will either. Don't really get why they thought this would be a good idea?

DD is 6 and has just finished her first year of dance, so yes, I am utilizing this season as tv snuggle time. Without a little dancer in my house, I highly doubt I would be watching this season.

So disappointing. I strongly disliked the format of last season, although I did watch every episode. Trained dancers are almost always going to be better than untrained ones. And there has been a lot of lying/half-truths about the contestants through the years(many were trained in multiple styles, even though they claimed they were hip hop dancers or street dancers only).
But this is just bullshit. I don't want to see kids dancing. There are other shows for that. I'm a grown up with adult kids, and my younger daughter and I have watched SYTYCD together for years. Not this year. I don't know what Nigel and the other producers were thinking, but I believe this will be the end of SYTYCD. I'm so sad about that.

I've watched every season so far, but this one I'll pass on. The kids are talented, but junior versions of shows doesn't interest me as much. Maybe my 10 year old daughter wants to watch.

Wasn't really a fan of street vs stage but i loooovee yaya so i kept with it.. I like all of the dancers from Philips group.. I can't remember what they were called...

Glad to see we are not the only ones disappointed. We are giving it a chance though and hoping it will be better once the all-stars are with them. I pray the show makes it after this year because American Idol and SYTYCD are our favorites. I can't lose both though I feel like I already have.

I agree with Zella. This new format has zero appeal for me. I'm not interested in seeing kid compete at all.
I'm not going to watch this season. I'll predict they'll cancel it for low ratings and then not admit it's their own fault. Not every one loves 'cute kids'.

I've been watching it, but only because nothing else is on. It's like they are moving Dance Moms over to network tv or something - even getting Maddie to be a judge on the show. There have been some good dancers though, but I just don't care about most of them.

I thought this was a mini series leading into the real show and am so disappointed this is the format for the summer. There doesn't seem to be a great explanation for the change in format other than wanting to keep it fresh . I'm not a fan at all. This article sums it up for me nicely: Gone will be the emotional performances of love and loss. Gone will be the sexy dances like the rumba or the tango, or even those heart-touching contemporary routines that deal with life-changing, adult subjects. Gone will be the romance, the connection, the embodiment of life through artful dance. It’s not that kids can’t emote. They can. But “sexy” from 10-year-olds is just...wrong. Further, any attempt to fake romantic emotion by those who haven’t even had a first kiss comes with a creep factor that makes anyone uncomfortable.
