I feel like we have all left the prison (2Peas) and met up at (oh, no) Terminus. I can't wait for October! How about we have all left the farm and met up at the car on the highway? I will let you girls have Daryl. Looks like I am getting Rick all to myself.

me me me!! And, to keep up, I am on a zombie book kick. Y'all know there are some REALLY bad zombie books, right?? There are some fun ones, and some good ones, but OMG, there are some that are so bad that you just have to wonder if they had someone read it before it went to "print" because if they had, surely someone would have said "DUDE, NO." (is that a laughing smilie?) Id love to hear of some zombie books! I just finished reading The Passenger by James Cook & Joshua Guess. It was my first zombie book but I was drawn to it because part of the book is written from a zombie's perspective I (and also because it showed up on on the free list I follow). It may actually change my mind a little about some of the WD zombies. It was a quick and easy read.

I was all excited to watch the marathon, but noooooo.
My sister invited us over for the 4th and what was I supposed to say? "Thanx, but no. We're staying home to watch a marathon of a show we've already seen at least 3 times." <sigh>
And on Saturday I will be packing for our trip on Sunday, so that pretty much kills the weekend. Damn!

I've read Alice in Deadland by Mainak Dhar it was ok not the best but I got it when it was offered for free on amazon. (it's 99 cents now) It's an interesting story though the writing leaves a lot to be desired.

The whole series is good! Start with No Easy Hope ( james cook website) and go from there. I keep meaning to look on my kindle app to see what I have read...I will do that today.

I blurted out, "when the zombie apocalypse happens you'll be in one of the safest places!" She said "you realize you said when, not if, right?" She's not a WD fan. She just doesn't get it. I know what you mean. We went for a drive about a year ago out in the mountains and the whole time, I was looking for the "perfect" place to relocate when the zombie apocalypse occurs. I've also been thinking of other places that would be good to relocate to. One place I "think" might be a good place, even though I haven't seen it in person, is Epcot's Living with the Land. It's indoors and can be locked up and it's a greenhouse so you can have fresh food all year round. Now keep in mind, my only experience with Living with the Land is through Trip Reports on the Disboards so I could be all wrong there. You have to be a WD fan in order to get the obsession with thinking about where to live when it happens.

The joke at my house is "I don't have to run fast, I just have to run faster than you." (This also applies to going to the beach-"I don't have to swim fast or well, just better and faster than you" as it applies to sharks. ) Of course my children laugh at me at point out that I will be the first go-I am old and can't run for crap. My only contribution to the community would be as a cook, so maybe that would help make people want to keep me around.

I'm here too and can't wait until October. And yes, I've also wonder where would be the best place to go when the apocalypse starts. There's a prison about 30-40 minutes drive from here, so I guess I'd head there. Or the air force base is a 10 minute drive, they'd be bound to have some safe places there.

Does Season 4 only have 8 episodes? I've just set the DVR to record the marathon so that I can see Season 4 which is not on Netflix. It only shows 8 episodes in season 4.

My husband and I were out looking for property. We found this one nice parcel of land that had a small river on one side and across the back. My husband says, "I like this property. We would only have to fence two sides before the zombie apocalypse." TRUTH

If I let that slip in front of people who don't get it they usually laugh and ask what it is. No way in hell am I telling them my plan they can figure it out on their own. Of course that just makes them think I am even crazier.

I think that it is a given that those of us who watch the series, read zombie/post-apocalyptic books, and watch all the end of the world movies have a closely guarded plan. LOL
Now, I am not going to start hoarding food, but I admit I take my hurricane kit a little more seriously. LOL

Also guilty of wanting Daryl as my apocalypse hubby This is so me! My husband & kids loved it and tried to get me to watch it, but I resisted. Finally when my husband borrowed the first 2 seasons on DVD, did I succumb. And now of course I have this on my car. BTW, you will have to share Daryl w/a few of us. Hilarious!! And I'm totally stealing it.

I've been on a zombie novel kick too. I read the As the World dies series by Rhiannon Frater. The dialogue was ridiculous at times. But I really enjoyed the underlying survival story.
