This is for a couple that have been married previously; one for 12 years and another for 30+. They are building a home together and combining their existing households. They have all of the standard items and then some. I would like to give them something unique and creative, but I'm drawing a blank. They LOVE wine and drinking in general. Their new home is going to have two wine cellars and a bar. I was thinking about personalized wine glasses and the "wine of the month" club membership. If I do that for the shower, I still need another idea for the wedding. Any and all suggestions would be very much appreciated! Thank you!!

The shower has already been planned and the bride was approached about that and was not interested in stating no gifts, nor a personal shower in place of a bridal shower. Thank you though!!

I saw the personalized cheese boards too! I thought that would go nicely with the wine glasses. Thank you!

Best gift we received was a bouquet of roses made out of origami cash. Unique and practical!

The thing when people are really into a hobby or pursuit like wine (have 2 wine cellars) -- they know what they like and probably already have it, and they may not particularly want or like what a non-specialist would choose for them. SO I would be inclined to go with the cheese board idea. Surely they have registered? I'd be guided by the items they've requested -- for the shower, if you have a sense of the color scheme of their kitchen or bar area, you could do something more fun and whimsical like coasters or dishes to hold mixed nuts. I do find shopping for situations like the one you describe to be difficult, specially when I don't know the couple well enough to know their needs/tastes.
