I understand why voters want change but if a lesson was to be learned all one had to do was look at President Obama's time in office. I believed he really wanted change but I also had visions of him standing on a balcony at the White House yelling at Congress "but I promised the people change" and the members of Congress turning their collective backs to the President. Unfortunately I wasn't that far off.
No one individual can produce the change voters want. In this instant age we live in you can't vote for a Sanders or Trump and expect them to wave their magic wand and all these changes will happen.
Its has taken years to get this point and it's going to take years and a hard slog to get the change we all want. It's easy to blame everything on the Federal Government but a lot of problems are created on the city and state levels as well. To fix this one has to start at the local level and work their way up getting people elected that are willing to make these changes when you have governors and a President willing make the changes as well.
Sanders knows this and Trump is too stupid to understand it does take a village to get change done.
It will be interesting to see what Sanders does now. He has a great opportunity to start the change that he feels need to be done and he has the supporters to do it as long as he pushes them in the right direction. At one point I thought he would but now I'm not sure he will. I think he will let his supporters slip away. That's too bad.

I talked with a Bernie supporter today who said America deserves Trump for not getting Bernie the nomination. I didn't ask if that means he will actually vote for Trump...

I'm not even offering voting for Trump as an option because I think that's highly unlikely except in a few cases where they are bitter enough to want to stick it to Hillary I heard an interview this morning on the radio with someone at a Bernie rally in CA. He said if Bernie isn't an option, he'll vote for Trump because he wants to send the message that it's time to get rid of the usual politicians and bring in outsiders to shake the system up. They didn't give his age so I don't know if he falls into the young voters category or not. Bernie has served in the U.S. senate for 16 years. I don't know why he tries to claim 'outsider status'.
I like Bernie and many of his policy positions but he is most definitely not an outsider.

I'm a grown up Bernie supporter, and both of my kids (24) (26) are Bernie supporters. Our default vote will go to Hilary. We are not out for "free stuff", and that mindset seems to be all non-Bernie supporters come up with regarding his platform.

Many of the ones I've seen on FB are planning to vote third party. They're hoping Bernie will lead the charge. Given that he's not a true Democrat, as some here have posted, he has no incentive to be loyal to the party except to keep Trump out of the White House. I'm interested in seeing if he does support Hillary for the same reason, like it has been mentioned here, he's not a true Democrat. My 34 yr old was neither a Trump nor Bernie supporter and has planned on voting 3rd party. I'm curious to see how many third party voters there will be this election due to the other choices.

I'm of an age and income bracket where I wouldn't receive "free stuff" - I'd be paying for it. And yet I'm still a Bernie supporter.

He was a Bernie supporter, although he has soured on him recently. He makes a great living, has no college debt, and great insurance from his company. He has been working since he was in middle school and saves like a fiend. He doesn't need the free stuff and isn't looking for a handout.

Middle dd (19) is a rabid Bernie supportor. She absolutely will not vote for Hillary or Trump. I'm sure she'll write in Bernie! If she HAD to pick between Bernie and trump, she'd pick trump. Both because of her hate for Hillary and because she grew up in a republican household and she'd lean that way more.

My friends (20s-30s) range from liberal to conservative. During primaries, some were for Bernie, others for Hillary. Some were for Kasich, some Cruz. At this point, all of my friends and I are on the "anyone but Trump" path. We will all vote.

I have a few cousins in the age group you're referring to, all voted Bernie yesterday. This morning my Facebook newsfeed was full of their disappointment. They cannot fathom how our fellow Californians could possibly have voted for Hillary (I'll admit I'm surprised too). One of them said they would vote for Hillary in November, another that they would vote for anyone but Trump, and two said they would not bother to vote.

I am a 44-year-old Sanders supporter, but I caucused for him and represented for him at our legislative district, so I got to talk to a ton of Sanders supporters of all ages from all backgrounds. They're going to back Hillary. Our caucuses were completely "hey I am really motivated by this guy and support him but anyone who isn't a Republican is cool with me," so I am not anticipating that the Sanders supporters I know and have met are going to leap to Trump or stay home.

Ok, just asked 22 year old dd (also a Bernie supportor although not in the same League as dd#2), her reply: probably Hillary unfortunately.... I'd vote for a tarantula over Trump Just a friendly warning. My BIL and SIL used to be conservative Republicans. Well, now their four sweet little boys are all grown up and they're all wild-eyed liberals. I'm sure they all voted for Bernie yesterday like the rest of the kids. So I saw my BIL and SIL last month for the first time in quite a while. I love them but I was kind of afraid they'd tell me they were supporting Trump or Cruz. No and no. They had planned on voting for Rubio but he was already out by then. They didn't know what to do because there was no way they were going to vote for Trump and they hated Cruz, too. (He just dropped out that day.) I can't wait to find out how they're going to vote in November. Poor things. So watch out, those liberal kids might loosen you up a bit. We'll be waiting with open arms.

I Love that my family is "politically diverse" and thinks for themselves... Even dh who is a reluctant Trump supporter. :/
