The one thing I would love to have is a big square table with chairs a bit higher. It can be a table with shelves or not, but it would give me a big work space and room for a friend or two if they came over. I just love the rooms that have tables like those.

Here is my room...I posted it to my blog and 2Peas a few weeks ago. Don't know if you saw it or not, but my room is 14x14 so about the same size you're planning. It's in the basement with an egress window and closet so we could easily turn it into a bedroom eventually. www.awdml.com/blog/?p=10326What is the cool little stand you have your phone on? Did you make that? I need something like that. I made it Our local quilting store did a make & take for that on Black Friday a few years back. Now that I have the chevron look going though, I should make myself a black & white chevron one instead

Love looking at all these rooms! I had mine cleaned up and made a mess in there again this weekend, but didn't get any scrapping done!

I think the biggest thing to think is about how you scrap, what you mainly use when you scrap, how much surface space do you use? I have redone my old room at my old house twice, moved and got to rearrange things in addition to gaining a walk in closet, and just 3 days ago was thinking of a massive overhaul of my space until my dh looked at me like he was going to shoot me!
I have so much stuff, that I feel like my room is overpowered. I want simple, big creating surface, good work chair, and everything else to be clean lines. Right now, I just feel like there is always stuff everywhere and I cannot fit a work table that will comfortably accommodate the space I need when I scrap. I have the cubes from Michaels, and I do like them; I just have so many that it feels ridiculous.
I know with the way that I am always changing my mind and wanting to move and redecorate and remodel that buying custom cabinetry would be a waste for me. It was something we talked about when meeting with the builder of our home. I was so indecisive with just thinking about making something permanent and getting it perfect that my anxiety talked me out of committing to going that route.

I love looking at everyone's scrap rooms! We are building right now too, and I have been obsessing about my own space. My last studio I used Lowe's cabinets and was never really happy with those, so this time I'm doing eclectic/vintage pieces. One thing that has been really helpful for me has been to really go through and purge stash so I know exactly how much storage I need for tools, PP, inks, paints, etc. Then I have planned zones for each area - I have a zone for my PL workspace, my sewing machine and Silhouette, and computer area. Have fun and please post pics when it's all done! When is your completion date? Ours is est. Aug 21.

Here is my space. I've made a few changes since these were taken but it's such a mess right now, I won't scare you with pics. I have a new light fixture now and shelves between the windows. All furniture if Ikea. I believe the drawer unit is no longer available though. My craft space

I love this space from the craft room pinterest board. It's a sewing studio but what really caught my eye is all the natural light. My room has one window and while it provides some light, it doesn't provide near as much as this. This is gorgeous!

That's so exciting! I have a pinterest board for scrap spaces too. But I can't believe Sherry's isn't in there. I too have always loved her spot. There was an old thread on two peas that linked to this blog and the organizational challenge. I think it's a great way to really help you think about your needs and how to store things. Wookiemouse Organization Challenge I'll be going through this process myself as we're moving too.

I love my craft room, but if I were to build a new home I would have hardwood floors instead of carpet, add great lighting, have an area with a sink and add a table to do standing work. I have the white desks from Pottery Barn and some of those ladder shelves and I love all the furniture, but sometimes it would be great to have a taller desk for some tasks.

Forgot about WookieMouse's Organizational Challenge! I did it and it really helped me get my space in order. I agree w/pp that how you scrap really affects how you should organize/set up your space. Hoping this works, but I love this table.
Nope. Trying again . . . Fingers crossed
