We're almost totally into the new house, and have invited our realtor over for dinner as a thank you for all the work she did for us. Really it's an excuse to make what I traditionally make on Memorial day but couldn't because we were neck deep in boxes and trying to get out of the old house. Menu: Grilled pork loin - you glaze it with a honey/soy sauce marinade while cooking. So it's got vague asian flavors, but really it's runs a little on the sweet side, though not overly so. Honey butter carrots with walnuts - Dill Rolls She said she'd bring dessert. I feel like I need another vegetable, typically I get fresh corn, but I can't find any right now. I definitely want a neutral or non-sweet item as the pork and the carrots both have honey on them. the dill rolls are a nice neutral, I'm thinking spinach salad (as there is a definite lack of green on the menu) but I detest spinach, and was hoping to find another veg that I would actually eat. and since I know the rules: Similar recipe to the pork
Dilly Rolls

Salad (not spinach) and I would add something else starchy, like the corn on the cob or rice pilaf, or else potatoes.

I love a mix of arugula and romaine lettuce tossed with a sesame, ginger vinaigrette and would add sauteed green beans finished with a tsp of sesame oil and tossed with almonds.

Roasted brussel sprouts brushed with the same marinade.
Or green beans sauteed with garlic and sugar. Also gives a hint of Asian flavor.

Green beans or a green salad would be great. I think a rice pilaf would be great too.

I'd do one of those asian chopped salads in a bag. It comes with dressing and toppings.

Asparagus, and for that little extra touch of pork, wrap them in bacon and grill.

You definitely need a green salad, something to balance the sweet - something with arugula would be good. No sweet dressings.
