Our family is heading to Scotland in August. I've been checking reviews and articles online. Looking for some pea recommendations. My daughter is a vegan but she won't be with us the entire trip, she's leaving early. Any suggestions for casual meals, reasonably priced, generally good food. Thanks  |

I don't have any suggestions just wanted to say how jealous I am. One of my most favorite places in the world! It's on my list of places to return to so I'll watch this thread. Enjoy.

I had haggis, neeps & tattoos in Edinburgh but I don't remember where. In spite of what everybody says, haggis is pretty tasty.

I ordered Bangers and Mash a few times in the UK, but the best was at a pub called Breck's on Rose Street in Edinburgh. That was 2002 though, so it's been a while since I was there...

Thanks Lozi. We have tickets for the tattoo and look forward to the fringe festival I am sooooo excited for you to see the Tattoo show! We were there in Aug 2010 and I often watch videos of it on You Tube and dream of going back. We were in Edinburgh for 3 days, and both DH and I are drawing a blank on the name of our favorite restaurant. It was a tiny Italian place...dang I wish I could remember the name. Just ask around and the locals will be a huge help! We always got our best recommendations just by asking around. Have fun and please post pictures when you get back!! |

Nonna's Kitchen is wonderful. I would recommend reservations as its a tiny place.
