Big thanks to you all!
After reading old posts, I successfully renewed Sirius with the promotional rate I was offered 6 months ago! I was all set to just pay the 200 bucks and then I remembered that you all said to call and see if the promo was still available. And just like that, I get to listen to all the songs I forgot existed for another year.

I also remembered to ask for any specials.i said that I only listen to really 1-2 stations. They then quoted me another amt and I took that one. I usually just sent my check in for the $200+amt.

I got 5 months for $25. I have a calendar note 2 days before the current contract expires to call and ask for the same deal again.
I told my parents, who blindly pay whatever they are billed, that they need to call and get a deal. They finally did.

I have never paid full price, thanks to people posting on other sites. It is crazy what they charge and must know that people are going to bargain with them. I am due to call to "cancel" mine on Monday and am planning on getting the $25/5 months again. They just sent a please come back (even though she never had it) to my daughter on her 7 year old vehicle. I believe hers was $20/5 months and I thought about asking for that with the provided code. If not, I have no problem canceling altogether if I can't get a good deal. I do only listen to 2 or 3 stations. Congrats to all who have gotten decent deals.

My husbands will expire in about two weeks.
Thanks Peas, I didn't realize I can call and ask for a cheaper rate.

We just renewed my husband's at a discounted rate. He has one of the premium packages so he can listen to his ManU games and they don't like to discount the packages as much as they discount the basic level. The season is over, though, so he told me to go for it; he was willing to go without, for a few months at least, if they didn't do a deep discount. Luckily, they were willing to bargain!

Yep! I tell them I want to cancel every time it's up for renewal. I then haggle for the best price. I've had the subscription for 2 1/2 years and have never paid full price.

I just got off the phone from renewing mine. The first agent told me no back to back deals, I know better haha. I said fine please cancel. I had ot be transfered to someone who could handle that. Okie dokie. This guy was nicer, easier to understand and offered me $99/year. Not a bad deal but I knew I could do better. I told him I drive little, it is past ski season which is when I really like Sirius and I listen to 3 stations. He reda his script and said he could offer me 6 months for $49. I laughed and said that is the same as the year and that to be honest I knew I could get 5 or 6 months for $25. I also mentioned the please come back deal that was on my table for my daughter, the one who never had Sirius and that was for 5/$20. I also assured him that I was prepared to cancel and they would contact me shortly to offer me a deal. I was very polite, just honest. He came back with tje 5/$25 and I was satisfied, dickering for an extra month isn't worth it to me. So.....in November I will call again.

I have been doing this since my 3 month freebie that came with my car two years ago. I just renewed again and this time I got 9 months for $30! Not sure how I scored that one but I'm not complaining. I thought it was going to be the same 6 months for $30 but somehow I got 3 months free. I have a reminder in my phone for 2 days prior to it expiring to call again.

Are these deals just for the car subscription? We use the app and listen online probably more than in the car and the best we've ever been able to get is $68/3 months. I think around $20/month is a fair price given how much we use it, but of course, I'd love to get a deal when our current contract is up.

I think the $5/month deals are just for the car subscription. we are like you where we pay extra to listen to it online.

I'm pretty sure I don't pay to listen thru the phone app. we don't listen on our phones so the online and car access is all that mattered to us. good to know it's free if we ever wanted to access it on our phones.
