I need to kill a couple of days driving from the east coast to Chicago. I was thinking of spending a couple of days in Toledo Ohio. According to Trip Advisor, there seems to be plenty to do. Is it a nice place to visit? What should I see in the two days that I'll have there. Thanks.

We went there for a mini vacation a few summers ago. The Toledo Zoo is amazing!!! I think it's my favorite of all the zoos we've ever visited! We also did a tour on the COL. JAMES M. SCHOONMAKER (a former lake freighter now museum). It was very interesting! We had lunch at a restaurant (can't remember the name) on the waterfront. The view was beautiful!

I would second the Toledo Zoo, but I would add that you will go by Cleveland as well and the rock and roll hall of fame is worth a stop too. I'd do a day in each if possible rather than two days in Toledo.

Actually, it's been changed. We're going to spend 2 days in Dearborn MI. We'll go to the Ford Museum one day and not sure about the other.

You're better off spending more days in Chicago or somewhere on the west side of Michigan. Toledo, OH and Dearborn, MI are both odd choices.

We go to the Detroit/east side every year. There's lots of things to do.

I agree with *sprout* in that Greenfield Village and the Ford Museum in Dearborn are an excellent stop. Well worth the visit. Henry Ford Museum/Greenfield Village I haven't been to the Toledo Zoo (though I've been to Toledo several times, as I have family nearby), but I've heard great things about it. I'd recommend a stop in Cleveland as you travel west. The Rock & Roll HOF is right on the lakefront and it's one-of-a-kind. Are you a fan of the Christmas Story movie? The house where it was filmed (the exterior shots) isn't far from downtown (about 10 minutes?). I'd also stop for lunch at the West Side Market. I'm a former East Sider myself, and I would recommend walking around the University Circle area. The Art Museum is worth seeing, as is the Natural History Museum, and the campus of Case Western Reserve University is right there. It's a really dynamic area. Honestly living in the area I would be apt to say stop off near Sandusky instead if you are going to be here during the summer months. They is so much to do... Cedar Point Marblehead Lighthouse Many beaches/parks Put-In-Bay Kelly's Island Kalahari Great Wolf Lodge A visit is not complete without Toft's ice cream parlor

We stopped for dinner at Tony Packo's on the way from Michigan to Cedar Point with friends. I ate meat back then and the chicken paprikash was to die for!! My boyfriend liked the connection to Klinger from Mash that Toledo has, but I was all about the paprikash
