It sure helps me to lose weight. I try to get 8000 steps in a day and sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. I like following my progress and and weight loss. Right now I am using my notes area on my phone to track my weight loss and the fitbit to track my walking progress. (I don't run...lard ass and all.)

I love my fitbit! I wear a zip. I started about 50 weeks ago and lost just over 50 pounds. I have at least another 25 to be within a healthy weight. I put in a lot of steps/day. I use the dashboard to enter my diet and to figure out how many calories in vs out. That helps. I hate the new dashboard. I hope they redesign it soon.
My DH thinks it's funny that I will talk to strangers about my fitbit. He found me in Bed, Bath & Beyond once trying to talk someone into buying a fitbit.

I love mine. Got my husband and two coworkers to get them and now we have fun tracking each other. I haven't lost any weight lately with it, but when I started 2 years ago I definitely lost a bunch up front just from becoming more aware of how inactive I was.
I don't use it to track food, just steps and active minutes. I find it helps me to make small changes like parking farther away, making 3 laps around the store before beginning to shop, taking a stroll while chatting with coworkers instead of sitting, and we instituted walking meetings at work.

I LOOOOOOOVE mine! I have the Fitbit Force, it was only on the market a little while before they recalled it for skin irritations, (never bothered me and I wear it 24/7) and I did not send mine in with the recall. It totally keeps me accountable. I've lost 60 lbs this past year and the Fitbit tells me at a glance if I've missed my daily walking goal (5 miles), how many stairs I've climbed, how many very active minutes I've logged and how many calories I've burned. I think they are redeveloping the Force now. My daughter has the Flex and she loves it too. The Force has a waaaay longer battery life than the Flex. She is constantly charging her Flex and I charge my Force maybe once a week, possibly longer. Two thumbs up for me!

I love mine too. I have the Fitbit One that clips on. I wanted one that tracked sleep and knew when you were walking up steps. Also, wasn't sure that I wanted one on my wrist 24x7. I'm losing 1+ pounds a week since I started to use it. I do 10,000+ steps a day and am diligent about tracking every calorie that I eat in the MyFitnessPal app (which then passes that calorie data over to the Fitbit dashboard).

I'm trying to decide if this would be a good thing for me. I run a couple of times/week but the other days I'm quite sedentary I'm afraid. I was just reading reviews of the Fitbit bracelet and it seems to get mixed reviews. One comment that came up repeatedly is that it isn't that accurate when it counts steps. Should I just go with the cheaper one that that just clips on to your clothes? Is it pretty easy to use? Do you find it motivating?

I have the fitbit zip. This is not one that tracks sleep, which was not something that I cared about. It also does not track stairs but I was ok with that too. I like to try to walk 10,000 or more steps a day and this helps keep me on track. I don't log food and use the other features. I also use Map My Fitness to track my power walks and other workouts. What I really like about my Fitbit zip is it helps keep me on track for the number of steps I take. I didn't want something to wear on my wrist. That would bug me too much. The zip clips to my clothes. I usually clip it to my shorts/pants. It is considered water resistant, not water proof but this thing has already survived me getting into the pool with it twice. That alone makes it worth the money I spent (about $50). My last pedometer that I had (about $25) died the first 2 times I forgot to take it off before getting in the pool............multiple times so ultimately I spent more money before I finally gave up.

I've had the Fitbit Zip for about 6 months and really like it. It is a great "lazy way" to keep track of activity. I really like how it tracks over to My Fitness Pal which I started using in January (I lost about 25 lbs between tracking food and exercise) I clip it to my bra and have been pretty good about consistently wearing it. The only trouble I've had with that plan was when I was taking a walk while waiting for DD to get out of dance. I was worried I'd be late picking her up and I remembered my Fitbit had a clock on it. I was sure someone would spot me feeling myself up trying to retrieve it!

I have had the Fitbit One for over a year and I love it. It helps me maintain my weight, but mostly, it helps me not be sedentary during the day. I have an office job where there are only four rooms and a restroom, not far to walk no matter where I go in the office. The One reminds me I need to get out of the chair and move more often. So glad I have it. I wear it 24/7

I just got my fitbit one on Friday. So far I love it.
I found that I walk more than I thought just doing normal stuff- averaging about 5500 steps... and then my averAge walk I'd about 3000-3500. So on an average day 8000-9000 steps.
I think I should be at 10,000 plus - so not too far off. I'll probably try to aim for 12000 a day so I can drop my last few extra pounds.
Plus I start back to school tomorrow and that involves tons of walking so I'm sure I'll easily meet my goal?
Not sure what I think of the sleep tracker...it does tell what I already know - I'm a restless sleeper Nd wake up a lot.
Btw - what is the flower symbol for? Food?

I love my Fitbit because it helps me to focus on what I've actually done during the day, rather than what I think I've done.
I forget that being busy with desk work isn't the same as being busy with tasks that make me move. When I look at the number of steps I've taken and it doesn't jibe with how many I think I've taken, I know it's time to get up and move.
Since 1/1/14, I've lost 35 lbs. I'm plateauing right now, but I'm not gaining, which is a victory in and of itself. I know that I'm still watching what I eat and I'm steadily increasing my daily exercise, so I'm confident that I will start losing again soon.
